I rarely I write a testimonial. However, I’m truly grateful for the treatment and service I’ve received from Dr. Specht and his staff.
In the spring of 2007, I was working full time and completing my final semester at CSUSM. Symptoms of ulcerative colitis, which had been present for years, were becoming more difficult to live with by the day. When it was time for a trip to the toilet, I had little warning or time to find one. I think I’d become familiar with every public restroom in North County. I even positioned myself near the door of my classes so I could leave in a hurry when necessary. Despite my best efforts and planning, there were a few humiliating occasions when I didn’t make it in time.
For years, my primary care physician and a specialist had me taking anti-​inflammatory medication, (both orally and enemas) and rounds of prednisone when things got really bad. While the medication helped with my symptoms, the prednisone made me crazy and I believed it was not in my best interest to use it long-​term. I decided to look for other treatment options.
Several years prior, I’d heard about Dr. Andrew Specht from a close friend. He was described as a highly skilled chiropractor capable of helping people with a variety of ailments. I happened to be living about a block from his office and decided to stop by and see he could help me. The receptionist that day informed me Dr. Specht had helped people with problems like mine.
I was both hopeful and skeptical. I began seeing Dr. Specht and my symptoms quickly improved. When I told my primary care physician what I was up to, he chewed me out for seeing a chiropractor, but I couldn’t deny the results I was getting. Dr. Specht’s holistic approach that included N.E.T. and changes to my diet and environment set me on a path to good health. Today, almost five years have passed since I walked into his Encinitas office. Dr. Specht helped me regain my overall health, as well as freedom from drugs and the symptoms which had so much control over my daily activities.
