This place is great! Super simple menu. You choose from chicken, steak, or both. With white or brown rice. They also have a combo with three chicken sliders. The sauce is a great compliment. Every combo is served with a fresh cabbage salad. Super fresh! Super quick! Super friendly. There’s a ton of parking and you can get out of there for about 10 bucks. Always consistent too!

For fast food, I have always loved this place. I have been coming to this location since the brothers worked here long ago when they first opened. Still the same yummy, tangy cabbage salad and the best teriyaki sauce on the planet. Still chicken and steak or a combo of the two offered. Same sticky white rice or brown if you like. Soda machine. They keep it simple and nothing changes and in this case, that’s a good thing. They do offer something new, but I forgot what it was!

Surf Brothers is a great go-to place if you’re looking for a quick and healthy, yet hearty meal. It has a very simple menu so choosing a meal isn’t a tedious task. Your choices are a combination of steak, chicken, white or brown rice, and cabbage salad or chicken sliders. I usually get the combo of steak and chicken with brown rice and cabbage salad. There is no need to ask for teriyaki sauce on the side since it always comes in a separate packet so it’s up to you how much you want to smother it. The meats are lightly seasoned without the usual sugar/fat-packed sauce but still is very flavorful. Everything from the meats and salad are very tasty and fresh. I can eat a lot here and not feel sluggish afterwards. In addition to a healthy theme that this establishment aims for(and succeeds) the waiting time is very minimal so coming here when you’re already hungry is perfect.

At best average teriyaki I ordered the chicken sliders and it ready soon as I paid that let’s né know that the food has been sitting there Luke warm for a while. The presentation was not that great you have three Hawaiian rolls which took up most of the space sprinkled with teriyaki and coleslaw. The rolls where good but those are out of a bag, the chicken was on the salty side not sure if for reason to preserve the meat. I doused my food with their teriyaki sauce and Sriracha at this point I’m like I already spent around 8 bucks for a meal there’s no turning back now I’m hungry. Overall it filled me up but not in a good way. I think next time I’m in this shopping center I’ll try one of the many restaurants I passed by to get here.

Decent teriyaki. Like another Unilocaler mentioned, I lived in Seattle for 7 years, so my teriyaki standards are super high. This place was clean, the service was super friendly, and the food was good. Not great, but good. We had the chicken teriyaki combo. The chicken was pretty yummy, with nice crispy bits on the edges, and the rice was perfect. I thought the sauce was sort of blah and needed more spices. I did not love the coleslaw. While the cabbage was nice and fresh, again, not enough flavor. Amp it up, Surf Brothers!

Not the most amazing of teriyaki and certainly not a gourmet experience – and candidly the bar has been set rather high for me after 10 years of enjoying some of the best teriyaki in the world in Seattle! Nevertheless, Surf Bros is always exceptionally fast and the food is consistently very good. They are my go to place for a nice family teriyaki meal that everyone enjoys and doesn’t break the bank either!

I Love the sliders. I eat here about once a week! Definitely worth a trip out for lunch or dinner.

It’s my first time back in almost 5 months! I originally wrote a negative review, but just like I’d hoped, the problem was fixed! Everyone is so extremely friendly and loved seeing the smiley faces! Only thing I’d say is that I wish the owner got back to me sooner, took 5 months for a reply. Lol

i LOVE Surf Brothers! It is often my top choice for a meal. You get your food within minutes of ordering, and it is all very fresh. Friendly staff that are quick to help out. Simple menu which makes ordering quick and anxiety-free. Plus everything is DELICIOUS !!

I am a regular at Surf Brothers in Encinitas, literally go in almost every day for lunch or dinner. The food is fresh and your order is ready within minutes. The prices are awesome! Less than $ 10 a plate and its a ton of food. But I have to say, the best thing about this particular Surf Brothers in Encinitas is the staff and the great customer service they give. They’re always smiling and work as a team. It’s a regular group of employees and my mom actually asked if they were related because they are all so nice and friendly. They’re always happy and smiling and makes my day just a little bit better. Can’t say enough about this Surf Brothers. Try them out!

I love Surf Brothers. Their food is good and wait time is awesome. I gave this place 3 stars due to their customer service. Every time I come in the same girl by the name of Kenia is at the cash register and is not friendly at all. Very short. I’ve heard quite a few customers are bothered by her attitude as well. How unfortunate.

I got the chicken plate that comes with rice and salad. Chicken was well cooked and delicious. Tables offer Sriracha which is a plus. Service was quick and employees were polite. However, working the cash register was an employee named Kenia. She was never outright rude, but had an attitude that made me feel like I was putting her out just by ordering. This was the only damper to our lunch.

The food is delicious, but they only have chicken, or steak. They have brown rice for 30 cents more. The plate is served with a sweet shredded cabbage salad.

They get zero stars. Customer service is awful just was in there at 8:10pm. Almost an hour before they close, the guy was sweeping and made me wait until he was«done» but someone came from the back and helped me. My husband went to go to the bathroom and the guy tried to stop him because it was«clean» but then let him go after kinda harassing him about it. Food isn’t anything good. It’s totally editable but not worth 20 bucks for fast food. I’d rather get Roberto’s next door. Also a side of teriyaki sauce is 25cents like come one. You only get 1 with a meal I feel two would be ok but seriously 25 cents! Waste your money somewhere else with employees that care and food that isn’t just sitting in a heated tub. Hey but my dog likes the steak, but she also licks her butt.

meh, over-priced, but good enough. I’d rather pay $ 4.99, the peeps there are not that cool either. the menu is tiny but it was my first time so i’m like hmmm… what do i want… as i take too many seconds to decide, dude walks away. that was funny to me… but, like i said, peeps not cool here. I’d skip this place, also be aware of the extra charge they don’t tell you about when you get brown rice.

If you want to try something different? Check this out!!! You have a choice of Chicken or steak or you can do half and half and have it served on rice or you can get mini sandwiches. The teriyaki sauce in their packets is really tasty! They also do catering– It would be a GREAT spin instead of Pizza!!!

The menu is simple: basically, you can get a meal that includes white rice, cabbage salad, your choice of steak or chicken(or half and half) and the famous Surf Brothers teriyaki sauce. This is the kind of place with a small menu(but what they do, they do well). Yum yum yum! The teriyaki sauce is so freaking delicious. It makes the meal! Service is fast. You never have to really wait too long, and the staff is nice.

4 stars because the food was really good! Well, the sauce is really bomb! We were going to eat at Kealani’s but they close at 6 and we didn’t get to order in time and we still wanted Hawaiian style food. I was a bit bummed they don’t have any misubi’s or Mac salad on their menu but the food is good. Even their chocolate chip cookies. I ordered the chicken meal– Chicken, rice and salad. The salad is pretty good. I noticed people we asking for extra sauce and I thought I should do it too cause we aren’t locals and the people who do eat here most likely are and know what they’re ordering and all that. And asking for extra sauce can mean only 2 things really: not enough sauce on the chicken or the sauce is really good. And let me tell ya, the sauce is REALLY good. Best teriyaki sauce in my book, it’s what really put the dish together and added flavor. My bf ordered the sliders and we both cleaned our plates.(We ordered to-go). Upon leaving and getting halfway back to the hotel we double checked for our cookies and they weren’t in there. So make sure you check if your cookies are there. If ever in the area, I’m sure we’ll eat here again. Did I mention the teriyaki sauce is really bomb?! The portion I must say now, is not enough. It’s been about 2 hours since we devoured our food and we feel like there wasn’t enough food cause now we need a snack. But the sauce is really bomb.
