Love this place. I wished I could have known this place sooner and now that I am moving, I am already feeling sad. I found a gem! I came cause I got my groupon and I needed an haircut badly. I lived out in Santa Monica and I had my haircut at one of the salons near my house. It was okay. I never can find anyone that can cut my hair!
Nina was my stylist. I have really thick and course Asian hair and she handled my hair well and tame it. I had it cut short and I feel much lighter. I recommend her cause she knows how to cut hard to cut hair like mine. She also cut my hubby’s hair. We both gave the same type of hair. I like the fact she takes her time to shape.
I will come back to LA after my contract is up overseas. I hope to see Nina again when I get back. I wish her all the best.

Do call for appointments cause they are super busy since they had their groupon offers going on. We parked further down on the street, 2 hours parking or meter up front.

My haircut experiences typically fall into the ‘Nightmare’ category, but I’ve finally had a «Dream Come True’ experience. Christopher Nieves, of Ankh Salon, transformed my hair, erased my phobias, and I am thrilled! For the first time in decades, I walked out of a salon and didn’t rush home to fix it. Instead, I went out for dinner with my family & we celebrated. My daughter is a dedicated client of Christopher Nieves and had been after me for nearly two years to give him a chance. I wish I hadn’t waited so long. My husband, a man with a penchant for Rapunzel-​length hair, looked at me & remarked, «Well, they finally sent you home the right way. It’s the first time.» Over the years, he’s thankfully spared me by keeping quiet about all of the mistakes. It’s been 3 days since stylist Christopher Nieves worked his magic and my husband continues to compliment my amazing hair.

I purchased a Groupon for a $ 30 wash, cut, and blow out with Jenny back in spring to shop around for a new stylist. The experience was meh and the only reason why I’m not downgrading the score is that the cut itself was discounted and worth the price, despite the customer service. I would DEFINITELY not pay $ 55 for what I got though.
SHORT: If you are paying full price, maybe your experience will be better. My haircut was a 6.5÷10 but I think the blow out had a lot to do with that. I will not be going back.
LONG: First impressions of the salon were good. It looks high-​end and the décor was really nice. Jenny was running late and was dying another customer’s hair. There was another stylist, Nina, who was just walking around because her client didn’t show up. I would have appreciated it if she cut my hair since Jenny was too busy with the other customer. Even a phone call from Jenny telling me to come in at a later time would have been better. Instead, I had to keep feeding the parking meter because in total, I was there for just over 2 hours… FOR A CUT.
Throughout my entire stay, Jenny was handling both of us. I felt like it was a bit unprofessional to keep me waiting with wet hair for 10 minutes at a time, but I understand that she had to keep checking on the dye with the other girl. She’d cut bits of my hair, leave for a bit, come back, and repeat. The other customer seemed to be her friend so while Jenny was cutting my hair, they were chit chatting. It was a bit awkward because I felt like I was intruding in their talk session. She didn’t talk to me either. She just kind of cut my hair and talked to the other girl. When she did focus on my cut, she grabbed a seat and cut my hair sitting down. I’ve never experienced that before, but it made me feel like she wasn’t taking my business/​money seriously because I was a Groupon member.
She blew my hair out and it was nice. But after a day, it kind of went back to the same way it was, just with less length and split ends.

Terrible, terrible experience! Firstly, I wanted to get highlights on my hair, hair came out looking greenish, white! I had to come back the next day, and fix it, and now my hair looks like nothing ever happened to it. what a waste of money and waste of damage to my hair! and stylist wasn’t friendly at all, and doesn’t know wtf she’s doing.
SAVE URSELF THE AGONY!

First time Going to Ankh Studio. Well worth it !! Christopher Nieves did such an amazing job, hair cut and dye. I hate cutting my hair, but i absolutely LOVE MY HAIR! It feels and looks better than ever: D

I am very picky about where I get my hair done and this was my first time at Ankh Studio. Everyone was extremely friendly and my stylist, Christopher Nieves, could not have done a more amazing job. He knew exactly what he was doing and my hair came out even better than I could have imagined. I will definitely be returning for another appointment with Christopher. PERFECT.!!

Three cheers for Jennie!
This was my second Brazilian Blowout; second Groupon for a BB; and second place of service for a BB. Certainly not my last.
I was thrilled with the first one at another salon. But the stylist was a little more haphazard with the ironing and blow drying, at least in contrast to Jennie she was.
Jennie is a bad-​ass. She’s obsessive in the way she gets every strand of your hair, making sure it’s perfectly straight. Even going over it a couple times.
The whole process took exactly two hours (I have a lot of hair, and it’s pretty long). The studio is nice and open with windows and a breeze so you don’t feel trapped. It’s clearly got a lot of regulars. I think I was the only one there for a BB.
I haven’t washed my hair yet, but I did get caught in the rain on Sunday. Normally, I’d be a big frizzball after something like that. But my hair is kind of perfect (smooth and shiny) still. This is awesome!
They also gave me a coupon for $ 10 off my next visit. I’ll definitely give Jennie a try for a hair cut.
And just a tip on the tip: we don’t want to give Groupon users a bad name, so be sure to give at least 15 percent of the original $ 250 price.

I went here because of a «groupon» coupon I purchased. I would have never gone here if they never advertised on «groupon». I have been looking for a nice salon since the girl who use to style my hair moved to Atlanta. I’m really iffy on spending a lot of money on a haircut and color, especially if I don’t know if it’s worth the money. Plenty of people have cut and colored my hair and charged well over $ 100 (they were really crappy)
Ankh salon is pricey, but I KNOW they are experienced and are well worth the price.
Anywho, Jennie was the one who cut my hair. She cut it exactly how I wanted it, short layered bob. I’ll go back this week for my color, and I’m very excited.

As an African-​American/​Caucasian mix female, I have verrry curly, poofy, ethnic hair. My stylist, Jenni was eager to work on me. She seemed more enthused than I was to do the Brazillian Blowout treatment. The thing is, I bought a groupon promo for the BBO for an amazing deal. Although the stylist wasn’t getting paid for the full service, she still treated the process as if it was the fully expensive process. She was VERY detailed and meticulous, actually, I laughed at her because of how obsessive she was. but OH MY! SHE DID WONDERS! My hair is amazing. Going from suuuper poofy/​curly/​kinky hair to smooth, soft, looser curls has been truly revolutionary. Jenni was a super trooper, and a master at the Blow-​Dryer.
I was soo impressed, that I already booked my next appointment for my next BBO as well as a haircut in the next few weeks. Thanks so much to ALL the stylists at Ankh Studios: Nina Garcia, Jenni, Savon, Linda. Not to mention Mary, who keeps that salon IMMACULATE… I’m soo impressed, that I am going to drive all the way from Brentwood to Encino just to get my hair done by them. thanks again! woohoo! as good as it gets…
