Mehran Nowfar-Rad MD

Dr. Nowfar-​Rad is an excellent dermatologist. He is thorough and takes all the time necessary to do a complete examination to look for any suspicious-​looking spots on my skin. He detected a melanoma on the back of my thigh… a spot so small I wouldn’t have noticed it even if it had been in an easy-​to-​see location. When he showed it to me with the mirror I couldn’t believe how tiny and insignificant it looked, but he didn’t like how it looked and did a biopsy. It came back melanoma and I was in surgery within a few days. I believe Dr. Nowfar-​Rad saved my life because I’m sure I never would have noticed that until it was too late. My appointments with him are always pleasant and he is extremely professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. And he is a very kind, thoughtful man. I would highly recommend him to family and to friends.

Was referred by my pediatrician to see this dermatologist. Our appointment was at 130. Receptionist arrived at 140, late from lunch. She proceeded to tell us she doesn’t see us in appt book. After going back and forth for 5 minutes she realizes she wrote the wrong patients name. She then starts calling insurance company to verify benefits even though this doc was in network and they already told me over the phone they accept my ins when I made appt. After spending another 15 minutes with ins company she puts us in a room. We wait another 15 minutes for doctor. Keep in mind that I was first app after lunch and there were no other patients there. So now we have waited already 45 minutes past our appt time. After doctor sees my daughter I ask him to look at my sons finger because it looks like he may have a wart. He says yes it’s a wart so I ask can u please zap it quickly so it doesn’t spread. He tells me sorry u need to schedule an appointment because I will be late I have patient waiting. I was shocked. He kept me waiting 45 minutes to be seen and to zap the wart takes less than 5 minutes. I will never go back to this office again.
