It’s obvious this place has made a name in Encino’s community. I had a plain waffle with strawberries and whipped cream on the side with scrambled eggs and bacon. You can’t go wrong with that simple breakfast and it was just what I needed to start my day. Lively music is played at the outside patios and people linger around the water pond. My girlfriends as well enjoyed their breakfast in this quaint place and I wouldn’t mind coming back. The menu was a bit overwhelming for a first timer like me. It seemed to have everything but the kitchen sink on it. Yikes! But I got to sample my friends Eggs Benedict and pecan waffles and it was deeelicious! Great place to take kids and enough room for them to walk about while you wait to be seated. It can get pretty packed around brunch time so I recommend coming for breakfast right when they open.

Best waffles ever! We arrived here around 9am this morning and there was no wait. We got lucky as they just opened up some tables in the back area :) The Waffle Benedict with home fries was delicious! The two eggs were perfectly poached and the Hollandaise sauce and ham was yummy. The waffle was crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside. The home fries were perfect. We were also given housemade salsa :) The Nutella Waffle was great for sharing with my toddler, had the same consistency, was drizzled with nutella and topped with fresh slices of banana. The orange juice was also very fresh. Service was friendly, quick and efficient. From the host to the servers. Different people came by to check on us, clear empty plates and refill coffee. Loved the homey feel and décor. You’ll feel like you’re enjoying a great meal in someone’s home. Place can be hard to find… go through the plaza, down the steps and is right by the water fountain area.

The Waffles Benedict is sooooooooo gooooood! The #cappuccino was just perfect with enough foam to spoon out at the end. The interior décor is like something I would find in Texas. #shabbychic #newfavoriteplace The service was fast, friendly and I am always amused at people when they can see how much food I can eat at one sitting lol It’s in the middle of the shopping center so it is not a bit hard to find from the street. They had a live musician in the courtyard when I went.

I had the eggs Benedict and lox and it was delicious with potatoes. Looked great and tastes great. My friends got the Mediterranean potatoes which was also great(ESP the melted feta cheese) and the hot apple waffles which was very tasty as well. However we also got the Latino omelette which was not very appetizing and was not presented well. Service was alright but we were seated in the back room and they forgot about us often. We also had to remind them what we wanted which was annoying. Overall I would come again.

This place makes me angry I only have one stomach. Everything is absolutely and unbelievably delicious — from their homemade jam and salsa, to their flavorful home fries, to their flawless hollandaise sauce, to their bacon nutella waffes. Yes, I said Bacon. Nutella. Waffles. I’ll give you a moment to let that sink in… Yes, there’s always an hour plus wait on the weekends, but it is completely worth it. Plus, the staff is attentive and speedy so once you’re in you don’t have too much longer to get the deliciousness you’ve been patiently waiting for. Finally, their menu is huge and inventive and I can’t wait to eat my way through all the waffle options(and more).

This is my family’s most favorite breakfast place. So, of course, there is often a substantial wait time. They do have a coffee and water dispenser with tons of seating in the courtyard while you wait. It is very busy, yet very homey and well run at the same time. You feel that family presence. I’ve only been on the weekends and there’s a singer on keyboard with his dog. A staple, if you will. My boys always like eating inside, so it’s either they are often cold or aren’t into the songs. :) I hate wasting the delicious homemade jam they automatically serve wth their waffles. My oldest raves about the eggs benedict and all sweets, and my youngest has to have his eggs with sourdough toast and always some kind of waffle. Just now my youngest heard me say More than Waffles out loud and from his bedroom I hear, «MORETHANWAFFLES???» Aw… I just teased him… :/

Seeing as I just reviewed Cici’s, I feel that I owed More than Waffles their dues as well. The waffles Benedict are so ridiculously delicious that I can barely try anything else off the menu. Unlike Cici’s, this place KNOWS how to properly season their savory entrées. And I give them props for doing a sweet/savory dish so well. I love the vibe here, like my grandma is gonna pop out of the kitchen any minute and make sure everything is delicious. Service is spot on, my coffee and water is on constant refill. Coffee is flavored, though, so I would steer clear of you are looking for plain. I have to be in the mood for flavored so it’s not always a win for me. I like this place because it feels intimate and I would bring someone here who enjoyed a delicious low-key breakfast. Is this the best breakfast spot in the valley? The Jury is still out on that one, but I would prefer it to CiCi’s if I was choosing between the two. I love feeling like I’m eating at a friends house and they love that I’m there. I actually feel that. That means a lot. *Lastly, scalloped/home fries, bro, EVERYSINGLETIME. They’re addicting.

I’m not typically good at waiting a long time for breakfast but OMG I’ll wait two hours for this place. The food is always great and the staff is friendly and does a great job. I love their breakfast potatoes and typically get an omelet or breakfast burrito. I love that they use real jalapeños and are pretty heavy handed with the cheese. The BF got pancakes with chocolate chips and they were amazing. I’ve had waffles there before too and they are light and fluffy and delicious. The owner is super sweet and is always making sure everyone is having a good meal. Also, they set up a little coffee and water station outside which is super sweet so you can have coffee while you wait.

Wonderful hidden gem in Encino. Nothing but great things to say about this place! AMAZING breakfast/brunch food. Like… probably the best Belgian waffle I can find in LA. Everything else on the menu is superb as well. Yes, if you come Sat & Sun between breakfast hours there’s a huge wait, but it’s so worth it! The staff is very friendly, provides beverages and music while you wait,& then once you get your food you’ll be a very happy camper. What I also truly appreciate about this place is the management. I see the adorable owner every single time I’m there running the place making sure everyone is happy and satisfied. You can also tell everyone working there is more than happy to help you even if they aren’t your server. Did I mention their food is amazing? Yeahhhh. It’s LIT at More Than Waffles

BOMB. Never ever disappointed with More Than Waffles. Yeah there’s a wait and yeah the parking sucks but when you’re getting food this great, who cares? I always order a Belgian waffle and their home fries no matter what. SOFREAKINGGOOD!!! Ugh I could legit eat their home fries every single day, no lie. Also, customer service is always on point. Plus, their staff is attentive, quick, and prompt. The business owners make it a point that all their customers feel special and valued. I can only give high praises to this spot! Can’t wait to go back!

Why would the best waffles in the world be at a place called more than waffles because they expect you to look at their menu and funnel back specific to the exact and only beacon of their existence in the reason why they are more than waffles. says«sometimes you need more than waffles»…

In my Unilocaling adventures, I’ve come across More Than Waffles’ page. A friend has also recommended this place so I thought I’d give it a try. I came here during the first weekend of 2016 on a Saturday. It was a bit hectic to find parking even though they have a pretty big lot in the plaza where it’s located. It took us some effort to find the place which is on the ground floor. We asked for a table for two and was told the wait was going to be 25 mins. When seated the staff was fairly quick to get our drink orders but it did take a bit of waiting till a staff helped us with our food orders. The staff who served us was extremely helpful! She saw that we were a little unsure on what to order and was delightfully helpful. She suggested that we add an item to what we order to fill our hungry appetites. She let us know that we can do half order which was great. We ended up getting coffee, hot, chocolate, Belgian omelette, and half order of the Mediterranean potatoes. The staff let us know that the Belgian omelette already came with waffles because we were planning on ordering waffles. She asked if we wanted to upgrade the waffle that came with our order and we did-Nutella, Peanut Butter, and Banana. I had a very pleasant and delicious experience. The food was well made and was very delicious. The staff is very cordial and attentive. This definitely made my top brunch list and I would definitely come back and bring friends to enjoy a delicious brunch here. You have to get their waffles which was so fluffy and the Mediterranean potatoes which is so hardy and flavorful!

We went there 7 times in the last year(2015) — but 3 of those times we gave up and left, due to the long line outside… so I’d say — that’s their biggest issue and the reason I didn’t give 5 stars. But they are less busy over the week days… so I’d definitely give it a try then. Otherwise — the food was GREAT ! We loved the mushroom Omelette, we loved the airy light Waffles and even the blueberry Crepes was very well done, even in terms of Europe… Service was fantastic as well — we waited about 10 minutes to get a table & food surprisingly arrived faster than we expected… as they were packed ! We were eating in less than 15 minutes… not bad for a Saturday morning. WELOVEDTHEPLACE and will definitely go again — I just recommend to RESERVE a table next time, just in case… they tend to be full over the weekend. Lastly, I have to mention the Orange Juice… it’s not«freshly» squeezed — but it IS a real squeezed Orange Juice — not from Concentrate definitely; they don’t squeeze it themselves but they get it 3 times a week from a place that does it for them… It does NOT taste as good as freshly squeezed OJ… unfortunately… but if you’re not picky about your juice — it should be fine for you ! it tastes really good and none of my family complained… I’m just used to real Fresh — so I didn’t like it. But that’s not going to stop me from going there as the food is amazing — so I guess I’ll just bring my own freshly squeezed OJ next time… the one I make at home with my Organic Oranges in my back yard… nothing like it :) To the owner(the amazing Ika :) — if you buy a small orange juice extractor machine and use Organic oranges — you could sell it for double… and people like me would still pay gladly ! :)

This local spot in Encino was crazy busy on the weekend with a wait time of over an hour on a Sunday. The massive menu is full of waffles, French toasts, pancakes, crepes, omelettes, Benedicts, lunch items, and more. With«waffles» in their name, that’s what we had to try. The hot apple waffle($ 10.25) was light and airy, but the bland apples that tasted as if they’re straight from a can were a huge disappointment. Pumpkin pecan waffles($ 10.75) were an improvement with their pronounced pumpkin flavor, thin, crispy exterior and chewy interior, but it still left me underwhelmed and hungry. I’d consider returning to try other items, just not during peak dining hours. 2.5 Stars

I was in the LA area last weekend and wanted to meet up with some friends who live in the area. They’re always saying how great More Than Waffles is, so we decided to make that our meeting place. First of all, if you’ve never been here before you should know that it’s tucked away inside of the shopping center on the first floor. You can’t see it from the front parking lot, so park and head on in to the center to find it. This place is clearly a happening breakfast spot, because it was hopping. Luckily, we made a reservation and were seated after only a couple of minutes. They’ve got a great variety of options, so even if you’re not a big fan of waffles you will have a lot to choose from(like me). I decided to try the Lox Benedict, and it was delish! I also tried a bite of someone’s waffles and was surprised to find that they had a very light texture to them. The food came out fast and the service was very attentive. If you’re in the area, this is definitely a great breakfast option.

Hard to find, but once you do the food is wonderful! Great customer service there was never a time that I had to call a waiter or waitress to the table to refill the drinks. Food was also just as wonderful. I had the nutella banana waffles and moms had the corned beef hash. Perfect portions… we even had to share a little bit of the hash bc it was a bit much for my mom. There was even live music with a guy on his piano(one of those singer/piano will all the beats type of music) but nevertheless live music is better than no music.

The waffles here are some of the best I’ve ever had with a very nice texture. Slightly crispy edges on the outside as well as soft and fluffy on the inside. It was done just right. It’s a bit silly making a big deal over just waffles, but give this place a shot and you’ll find out. In addition the location and atmosphere is great. It’s located in the middle of an outdoor mall and the set-up kind of gives you the feeling of dining at a villa. Or maybe that’s just all in my head. Overall I would definitely return just for the waffles if nothing else. They are that good.

This is a solid place for brunch, especially if you are a waffle lover! I came on a Saturday around 11am and had to wait 30 – 45 min. The wait wasn’t too bad because the restaurant is located in a little shopping mall with a few stores like Michaels, etc. they also write down your phone number so you get a text when your table is ready, which is very convenient for the customer. Parking was plentiful and free which made it stress free and easy. At first, I wasn’t sure if this place would be worth it. The prices are a little high compared to your typical Denny’s/ihop, but the quality is worth the extra splurge. We got the gourmet omelette which came with mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, sausage and cilantro, along with two waffle squares, for about $ 13. We also got the waffle Benedict(also around $ 13) which is your typical ham eggs Benedict on waffles instead of English muffins. The waffles Benedict came with either a side of fruit salad or home fries; we got the home fries. Despite the higher prices, I thought this place was great value because the portions are pretty big:) The food itself was delicious! We had no complaints. The waffles were Belgian waffles– fluffy and light/airy while being crispy at the same time. Mm. They never really got soggy. The plain waffles that came with my omelette were delicious with the berry jam they gave us. The salsa was nice with the omelette as well. I was really debating whether I wanted an egg dish(omelette) or a sweet waffle, and I’m really glad I got the omelette. For about the same price, I got a mix of salty and sweet, which I normally like for brunch(I’m indecisive lol). It seemed like the sweet waffles were my plain waffles with a few toppings. They’re probably delicious as well, but I will probably stick with the omelette for the best bang for my buck hahah. Anyways, the service was great, the restaurant was clean and cozy. I liked this place and will definitely want to come back again!

Well today I was in the center seeing Rejuvenate, so I decided to give this place another shot. Came about 1:30PM. Ate outside, it was packed. I had the turkey club with potatoes. The bacon was overdone and bread very dry. The turkey was decent, and potatoes better than last time. The bus boy keeps your ice tea filled which was nice. I didn’t get my waitresses name, but she checked on me a couple times, so 3 stars for her. I just cannot see myself ever coming back. Food is overpriced, and I can make better at home! 19.00 for a dry club sandwich and ice tea, with tip. No thanks!!!

Such delicious waffles! We got here around 9am on a Saturday morning and the wait for 2 was about 20 minutes. We opted to get the waffles with fresh strawberries and the French Toast with chocolate and strawberries. There is a reason this place has waffles in their restaurant name… it is absolutely delicious. Nice crunchy outside and soft interior. They also give a side of jam and salsa and the waffles taste so good with the jam on top(no maple syrup is necessary). The French Toast was ok but I felt the one we chose was more of a dessert type. The chocolate overpowered the French Toast. Next time, I will probably stick with waffles! Another nice thing was at the tables, they have hooks for your purses/bags. The servers were all attentive and helpful.
