My boyfriend and I lived here for two years. Pros: This apartment is close to literally everything(gyms, grocery stores, gas stations, freeways, etc.) The giant and clean balboa sports complex is right across the street! Managers are relaxed, nice, and onsite. The people in the apartments are relaxed and never caused any trouble with us. Cons: Managers promise a lot done within a given date, but never follow through. They mean well and do eventually complete projects, but don’t complete projects within a reasonable time frame. For example, my apartment wasn’t even ready when I first moved it. It didn’t have a refrigerator, the place was ridiculously dirty, the stove wasn’t installed correctly, half the bulbs were missing, there was no shower curtain, and a sink faucet still needed to be replaced. After a month, the managers fixed everything. That’s way too long. Especially since my apartment should have been ready by my move in date as promised. The entire complex is at the tail end of an almost-three-year repiping project. I hear there is still no consistent hot water running. And when asked for a refund on water bills(since lots of pipe bursts and leaks occurred) only a few got a reimbursement from the owners! Very unprofessional. The laundry room, pool, and ridiculously tiny gym are disgusting. These rooms are hardly if ever actually cleaned so there is black filth on the rims of the washers, rusted, dirty areas in the pool, and grime on gym equipment(as well as the floor). The tenants are supposed to keep the laundry room and gym clean, but for the price of the place the managers should have maintenance coming through to do that. Everything in that apartment is very very cheap. So expect things to fall apart or wear down fairly quickly. We had to replace all but two light bulbs writhing the first year. The bathtub and sinks got stained due to a cheap glaze material they put in it. Also, I’m sure the managers and a crew of two others actually do all the remodeling and fixing, but I’m not sure if they are actually professionals in the field.
