Pilates Plus Encino

So happy I found this place. Been wanting to try pilates for a while now to change up my routine, had no idea about the LAGREE method until after my first class !! This ain’t your run of the mill Pilates !! It has become an addiction because results are seen so quickly !!! And all the instructors are great in their own way… they take the time to correct your form, studio is great, only 10 machines, you really feel like your getting a private session … Obsessed. :)

Absolutely obsessed! Pilates plus is the only chain pilates studio that has an intense and well crafted workout. Ive taken classes with 4 diff instructors and they were all amazing!
Anyone that has ever taken reformer Pilates before knows that this workout is absolutely no joke. I for one think that if you’ve ever considered yourself really strong — take a reformer class to be proven completely wrong.
The best part about the classes here are that they’re super intimate. 8 people per class i believe? This is good because the teacher is really focused on your form and most of the time, wont continue until youve gotten it right (a blessing and a curse lol)
Pilates at pilates plus will rock your world — trust me.

Great workout, modern reformer machines & a stylish studio! I feel stronger every time I workout here!

Have taken a few teachers here and my absolute favorite teacher here is Beth Bromberg! She is super friendly and will know you by name after your first class… but don’t be fooled by her peppy demeanor cuz her class is super TOUGH. She moves through all the exercises quickly so keep up! I love it when she starts counting down cuz I know we just might… just might get a tiny break!
Classes can be found on ClassPass so have loved adding Beth’s classes to my weekly workout routine.

I love all the one in Studio City, but this one is great too. It’s in a better location with a few places to eat after, but it’s slightly smaller than Studio City.
The instructors are amazing! Beth and Paola are my favorite. They kick my butt! In a great way.
I’ve tried all the Pilates places in the valley and Pilates Plus’ machines and instructors are BY FAR my favorite!

By far the best and hardest workout I have ever done. Completely changed my body! When I first started I had no idea that I would become addicted. I initially tried Pilates Plus to shake up my workout routine. It quickly became my primary workout! I’ve now been at Pilates Plus for over 3 years now and couldn’t imagine my life without it. Definitely a big thanks to two of my fave trainers Beth and Ricky Rebel! Beth doesn’t take no for an answer and really motivates you to kick your own ass! Ricky is the chore master and gives an excellent full body workout! Gotta love it! Would give it six stars if I had the option! :-)

I tried a Pilates class at this location after signing up for Class Pass. Apparently, my first day was the day after they just delivered brand spanking new reformer machines. The space is pretty small, and the AC was broken during the time I was there, which made taking this class a little uncomfortable. The gal teaching the class (Ashley?) was great. She gave really good instructions and provided modified options for newbies like myself.

i took a class that Claudine was teaching and it was amazing. I only go to Claudine from that moment on. Her class is awesome, great music, and the workout is tough. I have went to all pilates classes and Claudine’s teaching is by far my favorite. I highly recommend you take her class. I recently started taking private classes because I wanted to get better and she is so comforting and understanding of how the body works and how far to take it. AMMMAZING Teacher!!!

I can’t stop recommending this Pilate studio to other people!
I’ve been a dancer my whole life and I’ve got used to using different muscles in my body. As a result, I rarely get sore from exercising anymore. But my first 55-​min-​workout at Pilates Plus really made my muscles burn! I was sore even two days after my first class.
Ever since then I’ve been attending Pilate classes here once every week (while continuing with dancing 2 or 3 times a week). I can already see and feel the difference: D My body is leaner overall and my abs became firmer. Best of all, I feel more connected to different parts of my body so that my jumps and turns improved a lot when I dance.
Oh also, the teachers at Pilates Plus are wonderful! They are so nice and motivating, and I wouldn’t be able to last though the crazy classes without their continuous encouragements.

Adore this place and the teachers. I’m almost done with my first month and I will be renewing it again! There is no way I won’t be toned if I continue to go there!

This has become my go to workout. I get the unlimited month and its worth it! I try make time to go daily if possible. The excercises strength and toned up my body fast. Every day the instructors mix it up focusing on stretches, cardio, or strength training. Might feel pricey but worth it free valet, small classes only 10 machines, personalized environment and RESULTS.

Please please pleaseeeeeeee have another location in the woodland hills/​west hills/​calabasas area. This is the only pilates studio that actually gives me a workout and not just a bs stretching session. When i work out here my body shakes and I get results quick!
I’ve gone to wundabar and boulevard pilates and they can’t do it like this. Too much time wasted and it seems like the more west the pilates studio the older the clients and the less difficult the routine. Also other pilates studios go at the pace of the clients which I don’t like. Some people should not be in an advanced class when they can’t do the routine! It just slows down everyone and thankfully pilates plus has its own tempo and if you can’t keep up the instructors will not slow down the entire class. Instead you will get stronger to get there instead of having everyone elses time wasted. I hate being in a class, paid so much money, and a person moans and groans from doing a simple stretch and instructor stops everyone to accommodate. Pilates plus instructors do not do that.
I would be at pilates plus everyday if it was in a convenient location, makes me sad!

The classes are four stars. Not that much better than the other reformer pilates lessons I’ve taken before but definitely a fantastic workout. I would NOT recommend this for beginners to pilates. I’m at the intermediate level and have done pilates for quite a while and still found it very challenging. While the instructors do help you out, you can’t get the same attention as you would one on one given that you’re in a class. If you’re not doing something correctly, there’s a chance you’ll injure yourself because the instructors can’t keep an eye on you constantly.
It’s unfortunate that the customer service was horrendous… My biggest problem was dealing with the manager. She was perfectly nice in emails but I’m not sure if she just didn’t understand the countless emails and calls I made, or if she was just pretending to not understand so that she could purposely NOT give me credit for the six groupon classes I purchased… It took more than one WEEK just to get her to credit me at all. It took another 1 – 2 weeks of emailing back and forth to get her to credit me two extra classes (when she actually shorted me three!). I just gave up on the last class credit. I’ve wasted more time and energy just emailing her back and forth over the course of three weeks, which was ridiculous. It also takes her more than a day to respond to a basic email… and she clearly gets them sent directly to her iphone so I’m not sure why the responses are so slow. The refusal to cooperate when I politely emailed her multiple times to tell her that she made a mistake with my account were more than enough to completely turn me off to Pilates Plus.
If you want a great work out, I’m sure you can find other studios. The classes are great but nothing special. The classes are expensive and the management is incompetent.

Ben is a fantastic trainer. The pilates class was bad ass as well. Really tough and your body will show all the hard work you put in. Wish it wasn’t so expensive.

Love this place. Thus far, I have taken Jackie’s class, Claudine’s class, and Audrey’s class. All are incredible! They really work you for the full 55 minutes of class. To top things off, their music selection during your workout is great!

I don’t know how they do it, but they do it well. All of the instructors I’ve had thus far (Jessica, Audrey, Geoffrey, Sara, Becky) have been very helpful and really want you to be the best you can be.
The first class I took was with Jessica and man was it intense! However, the more you go, obviously, the «easier» it gets in terms of how much you can endure.
At first I was skeptical about how people are addicted to this sort of intense workout, but now I understand, because I myself am addicted!
Pros:
Small class, which allows for the instructors to see every individual and make sure that their form is right.
EVERY class is different.
The time seems to go by really fast, which is an absolute plus especially when working out
Cons:
Registering for classes is kind of hard. People who have been at Pilates Plus for a while are able to make recurring reservations which makes people, like me, limited to what classes I can take. Kind of frustrating especially when you want to try to take as many classes as you can for the month!

One of the best pilates studios around. The staff is well educated and excited to teach and moreso help! Workouts are insanely intense and this makes you feel that much more amazing after a class. I have tried both Encino and Studio City. Check out the megaformer if you are looking for a really great workout. Circuit in Encino is also amazing and they use the TRX.
All in all a great studio with great trainers!

This is the only studio that I’ve tried non floor pilates, so I may not be the best source if you are a seasoned pilates reformer person. But, if you’ve done yoga and are thinking of trying something new, this might be more helpful to you.
Pros:
Pilates Reformers kicks your butt. You will be breaking a sweat. It’s a great workout for strenght training. They do have a «cardio» section but it’s not much if you are used to running or bootcamp, etc.
Cons:
You have to reserve a class, and if you don’t show up, you get charged for it. It makes sense since there are only 15 machines. And, because there are only 15 machines, classes can be packed so you wait to make your reservation, you might be asked out.

I just took my first class here this morning and I already know that I must include this in my regular workout routine.
I work out almost every day, sometimes twice a day, and this morning I was already sweating and shaking and burning 10 minutes into class. It was brutal! I took the class with Becky and she’s pretty tough on everyone. That’s what I like in an instructor.
Anyway, I know I won’t be able to move tomorrow, but I’m already looking forward to my next class!
Some advice:
— Book your space in the class ahead of time. There’s only 10 students per class.
— You can get your parking validated so you don’t have to pay to park in the parking structure
— There’s no reception area really, so when you walk in the studio, you are walking into the pilates class or the circuit training class.
— Bring a towel & water. You are going to sweat & you are going to need water.
