Awesome Spot – ok that’s a little corny, but this really is a SERIOUS spot in the valley. My Persian friend brought me here for the first time and I fell in love not only with the food and hookah but the whole ambiance. It has a legit Middle Eastern feel at nights between the music and the carpeted seats where you can sit barefoot. You know the hookah place is for real when it’s 99% Persian. My recommendations here are the salads and french fries. Yes, they’re quite the opposite but oh so damn tasty. I can’t think of anything yummier! I’d say go for the house salad with chicken and a side of fries. Just so you know, the fries come on a huge plate so be prepared to share. Best hookah spot in LA – no competition.

This is definitely my favorite hookah place in the LA area. I’ve been here several times, but our waiter, Hovo(sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was so fantastic the other night, that I felt inspired to write a review :) unlike most LA restaurants, the entire staff is extremely attentive, and employees are constantly walking around, checking to see if you need new coals. I don’t think we had a single moment where we were waiting for something we needed! The white gummy bear flavor is my favorite to order with my friends. In the past, I’ve gotten their fries and they are very yummy. Highly recommended! Love this place!

The staff is my favorite thing about this place, especially if you know them. Love Bob, Bobby, always willing to do anything that within rational reason to please the customers. Fresh hooks and food everyday. The place is always packed on the weekends, stays open past 2 am. Super ideal if you are getting back from a night out and need fresh good food! Recommend hands down!

Came here with a group of 4 on a Wednesday night at 9pm. Its packed and lively and active!!! Full of young Adults smoking hookah, eating, hanging out. It’s like a place in a hole with no sign or anything it was hard to find but packed. Overall one of the best places to come with friends to hang out. Service was good and fast. Food was amazing wit big portions so order accordingly. Hookahs good too tons of flavors to choose from. Only downside is the tables are super close to eachother so it’s kinda awkward when others come and sit by your table. But Will definitely come back!!!

Been going here since High school. It’s a decent place, but rather pricey and most of the people I knew have left so it’s not the same for me anymore. They’ve upped their hookah list to include Tangiers and Pure so you can smoke decent shisha. The food is quite good, but a bit overpriced. the Koo Bei dah Chicken platter is a personal favorite, altho they stopped putting fresh mint leaves in their tea. If you want a more club atmosphere with not much of a personal touch, this is the place to go.

Decided to go with a friend of mine that had gone before. For a first timer here its a bit strange compared to other lounges since it is in a shopping center but over that night i got a Luna hookah with lemon mint white gummy was an ok pack burned a bit to fast also got a salad and nachos was tasty but wouldn’t recommend it in the menu it shows actual chicken breast cut but when it came it was processed grinded meat

The Spot is a fast paced restaurant in Encino with great prices on glass hookahs and have a wide variety of flavors compared to most lounges. They’re usually slammed with people here so it’s hard to get most servers attention. The Food Dining here is pleasant when you’re able to get a table inside where most of the attention is placed. The food is of good quality here but I think it’s pricey even for 2. They have popular Mediterranean dishes here and American food as well. I like that they integrate more reasonable prices during lunch time before 5pm. The Service! Service needs more work here, I see too many people walking by with their eyes on the floor and not asking how customers are. My server tonight was DELANEY, and HEISONIT. He came by with refills and never let my tea cup get empty. He checked on us regularly with a smile and was all around very attentive, I will be coming back as always looking for better service.

Very cool upscale hookah spot housed in the heart of a shopping center complex. Between its diverse food selections & lengthy hookah menu, there’s a lot to indulge in here: ____________ + The plaza that The Spot calls home offers plenty of free parking. You should have no trouble at all with tracking down a space for your vehicle. + The Spot has a laidback, upscale sort of vibe that welcomes you from the minute that you walk in. I’d recommend getting a table inside the restaurant’s covered«tent» area if you can; doing so affords you not only added privacy, but also the best possible view of restaurant’s dual TVs(if you’re trying to catch a sporting event, etc.). + We visited for a post-dinner smoke n’ snack on a weekday night and didn’t have any issues with grabbing a table for four. This was particularly surprising considering how packed The Spot was, even at such a late hour. _____________ — I’ve visited The Spot twice, and was quite pleased during my first trip here. During our most recent visit, however, the hookah that we received wasn’t in the best condition. Its lone hose kept detaching, and we had to keep adjusting the entire setup around 3 – 4 times. Still, this was a minor gripe, considering that the flavors of the shisha itself were a calming tropical fruit blend. I’m pretty sure that we could’ve simply asked for a new hookah and resolved the problem right then & there… we were just too lazy to do so. The service was just a little bit lacking during this most recent visit, as well. We had to remind our waiter that we had placed a hookah order, and he looked completely puzzled with us when we inquired about the status of our hookah. Once given a reminder, however, our waiter delivered the hookah almost immediately. + We’ve only ordered food here on one occasion, but the Beef Koobideh that we ordered up was surprisingly delicious & flavorful. The meat was smoky, juicy, tender, and served in a healthy portion(two giant kebobs!). The roasted tomato and side of rice were both tasty, as well. The entrée was a little pricey(around $ 16), but the rich Mediterranean flavors were a perfect accompaniment to a relaxing evening smoke. _____________ It’s awesome to see that The Spot places an equal emphasis on both its culinary offerings & its variety of hookah selections. Service-related shortcomings aside, I’ll be coming back in the future!

The spot serves sushi now! Great addition and entirely complimentary with hookah. I really enjoyed the 911 roll; the spicy Mayo tasted great with the spicy tuna. I would recommend getting one or two of their speciality rolls as a small bite. The hubba hubba roll is definitely a delightful combo; I loved the fried onions because they tend to fill you up! Service got even better! Our server was such a delight; he dealt with our hungry bellies and even had a few jokes up his sleeves. I really enjoyed the service and loved the new addition to their menu.

I’ve been coming here since before they took carding seriously. I’ve been coming here for a DECADE – and I can’t believe its been that long. The hookah here is good and consistent, and when its not, they will fix it. Whenever we have complained about a hookah, they always take care of it; whether its fixing the bowls, the coals or replacement. I love that they have the glass hookahs now, but the price is Steep. If you are there for a while, definitely get it, because the refills are free on the glass ones, which makes it perfect. The food is BOMB. the kabobs are soooo good. don’t get the fries… you’ll eat all of them. they put crack on that shit for sure! don’t get me started on the sampler plate, its GREAT to share. ah! over summer time, 100 order watermelon with feta-its life changing. yes, life changing. It does get crowded on the weekends at night, but they are open super late. They also do’t let you play cards over the weekend, which is understandable. side note-if you are there during the day, they have good lunch specials.

Terrible service. We were told to pick our own table and sat down, but then no one came for 15 minutes to even give us the menu. The middle-aged woman(seems to be the manager, yet dressed and behaved unprofessionally like she’s in her own back yard) said she didn’t even see us there, but she’s the one who told us to sit ourselves. The young girl who waited on us would disappear and not refill the drinks for a long time. The check included an automatic 18% tip which they surely did not earn. the food was ok(rice was perfect, but meat was a bit TOO dry) overall, we will not be going back.

Back in the days this used to be the spot! I used to get dressed up, nails done, hair did and meet up friends! I loved sitting on their deck covered in a rug and smoke hookah all night while listening to music from the motherland. Today, I’m older and have a lot less energy! I was invited here by a few girlfriends for lunch. I rolled out in a ponytail and some sweats. It’s been years since I’ve been here and didn’t see the deck you can sit onto at was covered in a rug! So glad because my back can’t take it anymore! Today I am reviewing the food! As I got older I realized that food is way more important to me than just a cool spot. This place offers both! I love that I can still come here and enjoy. I still love the hookah, but the food here is also great! I’m glad to see the quality has not been compromised just because time has gone by. They have kept up with the times and adjusted the menu to reflect that!

Living in Oxnard, our local hookah places always leave us disappointed. We drove 45 minutes to try this place out, and it was WELL worth it. There’s an automatic 15% «service fee»(no matter your party size), but I’d imagine that’s because you have a designated server and then separate people to take care of your hookah/coals. I believe it allows everyone to stay on top of their jobs and give their best work, as the customer service was PHENOMENAL. Our server, Matt, was awesome. Personable, professional, and always making sure we were okay and had what we needed. The hookah was great, the food was great, I have absolutely no complaints about our experience. We will definitely be back!

Amazing hookah lounge. I love the fact that it’s outdoors and has a good vibe. Went here on a Saturday night around 10pm and it was packed. The place died down around 12AMBUT people started coming in again around 2AM! Good hookah, a bit on expensive side but you get what you pay for! Attentive servers and charcoal people. Get the glass hookah, it’s worth it. The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom. 4.5 stars!

I’ve been to a couple of hookah establishments, but this one is definitely one of the more elegant locations. They have a variety of seating arrangements, from tables and chairs to lounge bed/pillow style seating for a more intimate feel. My favorite aspect though is that it is all outdoor seating, so you don’t feel like you’re suffocating from all the smoke. If you are also looking to enjoy a meal, main course, appetizers. or just a nice beverage then this is also a good place for you. I found the coffee/Hot chocolate to be great, and the meals to be delicious. In particular the Kebabs are cooked very well. My only complaint is the hookah can be very fair at times, though on a occasion it can actually be pretty good. I would personally advise the apple head, since it will make the hookah last longer, otherwise you might find it can burn fairly quickly.

This review is long overdue. I’ve been here a few times and the last time I came here is the reason i am giving it 4 stars. I came here on a double date with my best friend and her boyfriend. She is super thin and hadn’t eaten much of anything that night. Hookah and an empty stomach doesn’t mix well especially if you have a tiny frame! 15 min after smoking she wasn’t feeling well at all and ended up fainting. The whole staff was so incredibly sweet and helpful! They helped us get her up and even the manager(or owner?) came out himself and was nursing her back to health. He went above and beyond to help her and never once accused her of being drunk or anything crazy like that. We really appreciated it and I think this speaks volumes for their customer service!

This is a very cool place to just relax and smoke some good hookah and have a drink or two. They also have a full menu for food, however I don’t really recommend their food being the main reason for your visit here. The hookah here is pretty good and they have a lot of flavors, but a bit too pricey. The drinks and food here are not too bad. However I must note that they have table side guacamole and that is excellent! The waiter we had was a nice guy and came around many times to see if we were doing good and asked if we needed anything else. The guys who Coke around to refill the hookah were really slow though. We had to wait almost 15 mins for our hookah to be refilled at times. Overall though I recommend this place as it is a cool place to hang out a chill. Try to come early tho because on the weekends this place gets packed.

There aren’t many places in LA that you can spend hours and really have a great relaxing time without feeling rushed and unwelcome. Coming here is like going to a friends house, but with great food, great service and quality from top to bottom. The waiters really welcome you and they are personable. They make sure you are constantly attended to and that you get everything exactly the way you want. For a hookah place, the food is fantastic. Beautiful presentation, plentiful, fresh and quality. Their kabob is as good as any Persian restaurant in LA. Their hookah menu comes with any flavor you can imagine and you can customize it. The outdoor setting is warm and comfortable even on a rainy day. They have TV’s, so coming early to watch a game and have some great appetizers and hookah is highly recommended.

I have came here to enjoy hooka, food, and drinks. Anytime I have come here the owner has been gracious and its the happening spot if you are in the valley. However, the heating lamps are rather scarce and with this cold front we are experiencing it would be nice to have all of them working. Always order the guac and chips and the kabob is divine.

When it comes to Hookah Spots in the Valley none of the other places compare to «The Spot». First off, the name is very catchy in my opinion. They are open after hours weather your leaving the bar or leaving a club always seems like this place gets a rush of people who show up after 2AM. The service here is usually amazing too. They come and check up on your make sure everything is good and best of all Hookah is done being made with minutes(about 8 minutes after being ordered). This may not seem like that fast but for a Hookah place that is pretty good. During the day they space is much smaller since majority of other businesses are still open however when surrounding business closes the Spot uses the space to extended out some tables and heaters all around. Definitely a place to check out if you want Hookah and are in the Valley.

Excellent service. I’ve been coming here for years and service continues to improve. Their food quality was reached and passed my expectations. Whether you want burgers or kebabs or maybe just a variety of appetizers with a cup of hot chocolate or tea, this place perfects every option on their menu and strives to help in any way possible. I’m only docking off a star because every time I’ve ordered hookah, it never hits. On my last arrival, I had to have a Fumari flavor, Spiced Chai, to get hits. Their flavors never do justice. It’s a lot better to come in with your customized flavors than risk trying theirs.

If I could give this place a 0-star rating I would! I went to The Spot early this morning after 2am. As I’m walking toward my friends who were being seated at a table, I suddenly felt a burn on my thigh and screamed«Ouch!». I look at a waiter standing next to me who is holding a charcoal holder for the hookah! I told the waiter that I just got burned and he didn’t even say anything. No apology, not even an acknowledgment. In fact, he even had a smirk on his face. I was so upset and told him he should be more careful since he is holding a very hot container of charcoal and should be mindful of when other people are walking near him who could get burned. Wouldn’t it be obvious that maybe you shouldn’t just be standing in the walking aisle with the hot charcoal holder in front of you or that maybe you should move it out of the way so no one gets hurt? Obviously not to that waiter. Then to make things worse, the security guard comes over and asks me what the problem is. I explained what just happened and he says the waiter is «just doing his job». He says that he didn’t see the incident that I just described to him, as if it didn’t even happen, and so I replied back«Should I come back tomorrow then and show you my burn/scar?». He didn’t have anything to say after that, so I just walked away furious to meet with my party. I didn’t want to get into it any further and ruin the night, as we were celebrating a friend’s birthday. Unfortunately, after our order was taken and the drinks were coming, another waiter spilled a tray full of ice cold waters on the birthday celebrant, all down his back. This waiter apologized and addressed the incident. They gave my friend napkins to wipe off, cleaned the area, and brought out a heat lamp. Someone from the restaurant came by and told my friend that he’ll be «taken care of» due to the incident. When he got the bill, there was a deduction of $ 4! My friend asked to speak with the manager and when the manager came by, he looked at the bill and said«Is that not enough?». I would have thought they could have at least comped him his entrée or hookah or a drink? But no, not in this case. I cannot believe how rude some staff at this restaurant could be. No concern for customer safety, customer service, or customer satisfaction. This was the first time I came to this place and I don’t ever plan to return. This is a picture of the burn I got on my thigh less than 24 hours ago :(

I have been coming here since 2006. It’s a great hangout spot in this neighborhood for adults of all ages. The highlight of the menu is the beef kabob/koobide or the beef/koobide sandwich. If you are a meat lover, don’t miss the opportunity of this mouth watering meal; having the beef kabob or koobide sandwich is a MUST to try. The service is different every time I come here. Sometimes they are short-staffed and it would take long to get your order but if you are patient person and you enjoy your company then that wouldn’t be a problem. I never tried their hookah but all of my friends like their hookah. This spot is popular for hookah but for me is for beef/koobide kabob and sandwich.

The hookah is good. Service is always great. It is so nice to be able to sit outside and not in some dark cramped room to smoke. There is always music going, and it’s always different(ranging from middle eastern to Bob Marley). It opens early(earlier than 95%of other spots and closes ohhhhh sooooo late. Why 4 starts might you ask? It has gotten so extremely expensive. I think the prices have readjusted 4 times in the last year, not by much but around a dollar each time… You do the math. I don’t know for sure that it is the single most expensive hookah place but it has to be one of them. If you compare the Persian plates to other Persian restaurant the spot will be more expensive. With that being said I love this place! Used to come here all the time… such a shame. Maybe someone will take notice and review the new pricing strategy. The food is amazing. Table side guac is still a must. Spot burger is sooooo good. All of the kabob plates are great, but I think the salads are really the most unique attraction on the menu(it’s a nice change from other hookah places) also during the summer the watermelon feta plate is a great option(but note you get almost 50% less feta now w your plate). Stay tuned for a review update.

Many Many Many Moons ago circa 2000/2001, I was a young geeky, nerdy, clumsy, teenager. Whereas today I’m still a geeky, nerdy, clumsy adult but thats beside the point, me & my friends used to frequent here after playing hours of basketball. We played for literally half a day, this was when I was actually in shape & shirtless body acceptable. We thought what was the best thing we can do for our bodies afterwards, go have a smoothie, eat a salad, do laps in the pool, no way! So what did we do? ahhhhhh lets go smoke hookah. If you lived in the valley back then there was no such thing as hookah, no one had a clue what it was & why people did it recreationally. The Spot was one of the founding fathers of this new culture trend that was taking the valley by storm. They did it well too, many many hookah lounges came & left but this place stood the test of time & has lasted 15 years! Pretty impressive by any standard for any establishment let alone a hookah bar! Did you know the average lifespan of a business in LA is about 2 years!!! Back then we used to come just for the smokey smoke, rarely we would eat the food because then they didnt have many food options & honestly they werent that great then, so we paid no attention. Plus back then we thought to ourselves who eats kabab & smokes at the same time? Little did we know that a few years later that would be the norm. Fast Forward to about 2012⁄2013 When I started coming back because I have been out of California for some time, I started coming with friends a lot mostly because they are literally one of few places that are open till around 3am on weekdays &4am or later on weekends. I guess you can call me a night owl plus I like to eat late at night too. For the past few years I’ve been ordering their koobideh plates, shish kabab, barg you name it, the meats have been fantastic, juicy, & delicious! Sometimes I will come just to toke on the shisha & get suckered into eating still because they were that good! Yes prices have gone up recently & thats not their fault I have seen prices in a lot places go up. Just so you know the crazy price increase a few people have been complaining about is a astounding, insane, & nutty amount, they have raised their prices a ridiculous total of $ 1.00, OHMYGOD!!! How will we survive that price increase?! I have never had issues with service, if anything they have always bent over backwards to make sure everything is right. I personally think their service is what has kept them going for the last 15 years! The servers come around every 5 – 10 minutes, refilling your water, tea, soda etc. The owner on many many occasions would always personally correct anything that went wrong or if the wait times were a little long he would accommodate you to the best they could. He is there every night & comes around each table making sure everyone is enjoying themselves and also getting to know each customer personally & building good relationships, genius idea! The ones who are complaining on Unilocal the most are usually the ones who feel self-entitled because I have seen a couple of them there & they are the ones that are usually starting up a storm with servers or people. The best part is I’ve seen them still come back after bashing this place. This isnt a hollywood nightclub where if you are a pretty girl or a rich dude they’re going to spoil the shit out of you & let you in the front of the long lines they have on the weekends to seat people. Thats not how business works! Yes during busy times especially the weekends service could get a little slow, but if you look around you wont see any of the servers sitting on their ass’s. They’re literally running around busting their butts! Its common sense if things get really busy service is going to be slightly slow & wait times will be slightly longer anywhere you go. I’ve always had a good hookah experience & yes hookahs dont always work as planned just like how machines in factories dont always work correctly. Every time there was a issue with our hookah the servers would not hesitate to fix it or take it back and correct the issue. I’ve been trying this new TANGELLO flavor which is insanely good. Tip is always included in the bills. So pay attention. I’ve read previous reviews where the servers would bring out the check before they were ready to leave. What they most likely didnt mention to you is that usually when they do that is because it is almost closing time late at night & they always tell you, they are not kicking you out & let you know you can still stay as long as you please. Because even though their hours are till 3−4am they usually stay open till past those times to accommodate whoever is still around. So if you’re a late night person like myself and are looking for a chill place to hang and relax late at nights this place is always one of the go to places. Enjoy Hookah hookers!

I am not happy about this place at all. I ordered the coconut water(comes with a whole coconut) & I asked my server if I could have an extra glass so I can pour out my juice and give it to my friend. She said No because the manager suspects that people would put alcohol in the coco & they prohibit it. I specifically said I am paying for a whole coco, I would like to at least eat the inside of it. They barely opened my coco because they suspect I had alcohol & I didn’t. No need too since there is a bar across the street that I could drink at. I personally didn’t like the experience. My hookah was okay. I heard the food there is really good but I won’t be trying it since I got a bad vibe from staff and management. Personal experience for myself I am not a happy camper. I don’t like people singling me out especially how they saw me struggle to open the coco up to eat the insides. Coco was great though. I ended up scrapping the heck out of it with my spoon.

For a tuesday night there was ALOT of people the rest, the place was pretty much full. Our server wAs very nice and helpful. The hookah and tea were also amazing. One problem I had is that they had two different types of hookahs to chose from and the first was 25 $ and the other was 53 $ which is RIDICULOUS. 53 dollars for a hookah you’re gonna smoke for 20 – 30 minutes is unbelievable you can buy the same hooka two blocks down for 65 $!!! But I still recommended this place it’s a great place to get tea smoke and chill with friends.

My once usual hangout during undergrad, I came here with friends the other night whilst showing them around town. This place still has the same relaxing vibe it did back then. The spot is a hookah bar/café that takes over the second floor of a shopping plaza at night time. They have an indoor section located under a tent, and seating along the perimeter of the second floor of the building as well. They have heat lamps and tents in case the rain starts pouring, and it’s actually pretty cool to be here during the rain. The tent has heat lamps, flat panel televisions, and comfortable seating along the perimeter of the tent. Aside from tables, they also have elevated carpets with plenty of plush pillows. My friends and I sat on one of these, and we had coffee and tea while enjoying the fresh late-afternoon air. Our waitress was pretty attentive to our needs, and we got refills on the regular exactly when we needed them. Although this time around we didn’t get food, they have a good selection to chose from. They have various kebab plates, soups, desserts, and drinks. They do not serve alcohol here, but they do have well crafted hookah. I quit smoking hookah long ago, but if you are into it I recommend a mixture of mint and a fruit flavor. It gives it a smooth taste.
