The glasses I am wearing are from here actually. Parking is miserable. You end up having to walk quite a bit. The frames are nice but not worth the crap to go through. They had to get the lenses fitted to the frame. Fine with me. They said they would call me when I could pick them up. Awesome. After a week I called multiple times and no one answered. I decided to go in. They had been ready to pick up for 3 or so days and no one bothered to call me. Needless to say I wont ever go back.

Highly recommended. I am considered a «poor candidate» for contact lenses, as my eyesight is still very good, but I increasingly need reading glasses. Although contacts for presbyopia have been around for many years, fitting them satisfactorily requires an accomplished practitioner. This is particularly true for rigid gas permeable(RGP) lenses. Before visiting Eye Contact for Kathy, I had a horrible experience with the leading ophthalmic practice in the Binghamton area — an experience that left me with a pair of contacts that(quite literally) did not fit my eyes. Even the optometrist at that practice admitted that the contacts did not conform to my eye; they lifted up at the bottom. By my count, this was the 7th pair of contacts that I had tried from that practice. In desperation and upon the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment with Kathy Weiss for a second try. She thoroughly examined my eyes both with and without the horrible contacts in, explained to me why the«bad» contacts were not working, had me «test drive» a pair of contacts that was close to what I needed, examined the tear film under the contact with fluoroscein(i.e. carefully checked the fit), tested both my near and far vision, and then ordered me an appropriate pair of contacts. Dr. Weiss answered all my questions thoroughly and satisfactorily.(I am an experimental scientist, so I do ask a lot of technical questions. I am sure this gets annoying.) My experience with Dr Weiss was quite different from my experience with the other practitioner, who made me wear the poorly fitting contacts for 2 weeks before examining my eyes, did not examine the fit with fluoroscein, and never tested my reading vision. As a result of the care that went into my initial examination, my new contacts are fantastic. In addition to being much more comfortable those from the previous practice, the new contacts provide good far and near vision. After wearing them for almost a week now, I am very happy. In summary, successfully fitting contacts for presbyopia requires a careful and highly skilled practitioner. The Binghamton area is lucky to have such a person in Kathy Weiss.

This place used to be a great location, but has had trouble maintaining the same level of customer service since they expanded operations. They’ve lost that love and feeling, and without the high level of service to differentiate their operation, you may as well pay a discount and go to a franchised establishment.
