The meals are very satisfying. The meats are freshly made and the deserts are light on the stomach but flavorful. I also recommend the Cheese wonton as an appetizer, the Mongolian Chicken and Beef as a main dish and for Dessert the Red Bean Ice Cream.

Really good service and wonderful food. We always come here when we invite someone to dinner. The food is delicious and is served quickly! The thing I like most is their menu — there’s an English side and a Chinese side to the menu. The food is really authentic!

Best Chinese place in town. Great for take out or dining in. Pad Thai is fantastic, as is the chicken broccoli. Wonton soup and steamed dumplings are great as well.

The best Chinese in town. My mom hasn’t had orange beef in years and she almost died from shock seeing it on the menu. I had Mongolian beef and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere and service.

A very clean authentic Chinese restaurant. Endicott/Bing is a run down neighborhood but I was so shocked to see a Chinese restaurant that was so clean. All of the food was on point and tasted authentic. I am from Queens NYC so I know my Chinese food and this was tasty and clean. Minus a star for poor customer service because they forgot my rice and hot water and made us wait because of some error with delivery. I don’t understand why it takes 5 people to figure something out.

I’ve been told this is the best Chinese restaurant in Binghamton. The interior is surprisingly clean and modern. They have an extensive American Chinese menu, as well as authentic Chinese menu. Prices are higher on the Chinese menu, but it’s worth it. We tried the sizzling lamb which was okay, but really enjoyed the spicy double cooked pork. It was extremely flavorful and the pork belly melted in my mouth. The lamb seemed a bit bland in comparison to the pork. I am excited to come back and try more of their menu.

Food is delicious but customer service leaves alot to be desired. I would not recommend this place if there were other alternatives. If you wish to be treated like a second class citizen then absolutely come here. The people who came in and were seated after me were served before me. The waiter did not come back to my table at all after taking my order and bringing my food. Other tables that I witnessed were visited multiple times. When I requested more rice for my meal, I literally had to ask twice.

I ordered the Mongolian Beef. It was as good as I’ve ever had Mongolian Beef; and I’ve visited Mongolia(not very good, chewy and gamey). They have the perfect beef to vegetable to sauce ratio. The temperature(medium rare) and quality of the beef is superb. Brown rice can be tasteless and difficult to make, nearly impossible to perfect… They create a very, very close representation of perfection.

Stopped by for a quick lunch. Love the traditional Chinese food menu! Ordered lunch special and shaomai, tasteful. Sichuan beef a little salty

This place is great, and that is a really big compliment since I’m relatively hard to please(especially when it comes to Chinese food). Their«real» Chinese food is as authentic as it gets around this area. And while it is definitely not the best I’ve had, it is the best I’ve had in this area. The food quality is quite impressive and is comparable to some places in Flushing and Chinatown. When I ordered the food, I didn’t think I would be impressed. But the food exceeded my expectations the second it went into my mouth. Like others have said, the Mongolian beef and Double-cooked pork dishes are really good, albeit kinda on the oily side. Delivery can take a while though, so keep that in mind if you are hungry.

A: Clean, tastefully decorated — nothing gaudy. Servers wear cute qi pao shirts. I usually get take out as do many other patrons so I have not been privvy to seeing the dining room being packed. There is no chinky yelling or berating coming from the kitchen nor is the phone obviously ringing off the hook and distracting the hostess from greeting you at the front door. You think this is not so important but ITIS. B: Reasonable, fair — worth the cost for portion size and oh my goodness the TASTE! Drool. Yummy. C: So — I dont have to re-hash the other reviews on the«authentic» chinese menu that is also in English. Frankly — when I want Chinese take out I am not looking to eat pickled fermented mustard greens with tripe or small intestines braised with 100 year old eggs. Asian comfort food = Vietnamese for me; I am not turning the menu over and upside down to read English. You want REAL Chinese — go to Chinatown, walk into a take out counter joint and point to a random number next to some random Chinese characters and live on the edge. Point beaten. I only like 1 thing here and now that I am moving out of the state — if I ever come back THISISTHEDISH I MUSTEAT: MONGOLIANCHICKEN. Ohh.Myyy.Gawddd. How can 4 ingredients be so orgasmic to my mouth?! Chicken, scallions, onions, spicy crack sauce. I ate it TWICE this week and ventured to try its cousin BEEFMONGOLIAN. Holy hell. Im in love.

Best Chinese food restaurant in the area, no question. The 5th star is lacking because everything was a little salty, but otherwise the flavors are fresh and wonderful. They’ve got an authentic Chinese food menu as well as more«Americanized» options. I recommend ordering from both!

Best Chinese food I’ve ever had anywhere, without question. Try ordering from the traditional chinese style menu for some new and unique flavors. I try to get something different whenever possible, but some dishes that keep me coming back for more are the mongolian beef, ma po eggplant, kung po shrimp or chicken, kimchi cabbage with beef, scallion pancake with beef, and the spicy double cooked pork. Every dish i have sampled here has been delicious.

Moonstar is, hands down, my favorite restaurant on the planet. Ignore the ChinaLake hype. I knew I loved Moonstar before I moved away, but I contemplate the 3-hour drive to Moonstar more often than is flattering to admit. Shari, will you puh-lease open a second restaurant, but in Rochester? Nothing on the menu is bad. Nothing. If you’re a puss, order the Americanized General Tso’s chicken or a beef and broccoli and devour what you never realized you were missing from the ubiquitous strip-mall-Chinese-restaurants you frequent. And never go back there: they have nothing for you after Moonstar. For the most authentic Moonstar experience, the one I’ll drive hours for, do as follows: 1. Turn the menu upside down to get to the Chinese menu. 2. Order hot tea, fried pork dumplings, baby bok choy, Mongolian beef, and Kung Pow Chicken –and this is KEY — «Chinese style». 3. Stuff yourself silly; pack the rest up. 4. Reheat on the stovetop tomorrow. 5. Return to Moonstar when leftovers are gone. Seriously, this is both my fave Chinese food restaurant and overall dining experience: get yourself some Moonstar.

Really good Chinese food. For months since I have moved into this area I have been looking for authentic Chinese food. The place is nice and clean. They have an extensive menu. And I love that they serve bubble or boba tea. I got the Bokchoy which was really good, steamed with garlic. I also had the salt and pepper squid which I didn’t really like coz it was too«fishy» for me. And lastly I had the fish in black bean sauce which was perfect. They do take their time in serving but I guess it’s because they cook their food fresh. But I definitely will come back.

This really is a hidden gem in the Southern Tier. While there seem to be an abundance of Chinese food takeout locations scattered through this area, they all seem to offer about the same experience. Typical American Chinese food menu(bright pink /orange sweet and sour sauce and oily Lo Mein). So as I was driving home, I realized that this location was much closer to being on my way than our typical Chinese takeout joint. I stopped in and was about to order the typical order for my wife and I when I realized that the menu was in two parts. The normal blah takeout options, and then a whole section of dishes labeled as authentic. Now please understand, I’ve never been to China so I have no idea how this claim stands up, but the dishes at least seemed interesting. I asked the very nice woman behind the counter what she recommended and ordered a couple options off of her recommendations. While her English wasn’t perfect, I had no trouble conveying that I was interested in something tasty, and spicy that was a departure from the normal takeout options. The food was delicious! I’ve since gone back and ordered many different dishes both to go, and to dine in(where the experience was just as good even with my under 2 year old son). Some of the notable dishes off the«Authentic Chinese» menu if you’re interested in flavor and don’t mind spicy: — Kimchi Beef — Chicken /Beef with Chili Sauce — Mongolian Beef /Lamb — Beef Casserole(not at all what you’d think of as a casserole) — Kung Po Chicken

I’m relatively easy to please, and appreciate even the smallest things, and tend to overlook most annoyances. That said, I’m probably not the most critical of reviewers. My parents, however, are the exact opposite. I don’t remember the last time I went to a restaurant with them and they didn’t whine the entire time about a litany of things. That happened, once again, when I went to Moon Star with them this weekend. As soon as we walked in, they were complaining about every little thing. ITheir usual complaint about Chinese restaurants, is about lack of traditional Chinese food, and how everywhere they look is Americanized fare. All the complaining stopped completely as soon as our food arrived and they had a taste. Their attitudes flipped around 180 degrees, and the complaints turned to praise. This is the FIRSTTIME in over a decade that I remember this happening. It’s a pretty big deal. Apparently, the food is close to traditional Chinese food served in Chinatown. While I thought the food and the service was great, the fact that my parents actually stopped whining and enjoyed their meal for once, is the best accolade that this restaurant could possibly receive.
