Big plates that were tasty and typical Mexican. The enchiladas were all good, one person had chicken tacos, another combo plate, and I had shrimp and bacon tacos that were delicious w a good amount of spice in the cream sauce. They wee quick to feed us on this Sat evening. My husband’s mojito was just right — not overly sweet, well balanced.

First of all, I am not a huge fun of Mexican. Oh, calm down now, I am not taking about Mexican people, LOL. My wife & got married in Tulum Mexico & we love Mexican people! The problem is that most Mexican places don’t have authentic Mexican food, Acapulcos is perhaps one of two the exceptions in Enfield. I had one of the best tacos here & the fajita is my favorite. I’ve had amazing Mexicon food in Mexico, so my standard may be a little on the high side, but I think Acapulcos has the best tacos around Enfield with the exception of Sarapes, which is more authentic & I’ll write another review for it. The place is nice, very clean, the service is great, very fast, the«salsas» are very tasty. I really recommended this place for everybody who lives or visit Enfield.

My friends and I left here ashamed of ourselves. How could we have eaten so much food? What happened to our diets? Do I have to buy pants a size bigger now? It all started when we noticed the great reviews here on Unilocal. We walked in, promptly seated, and our waitress was a great. One of those rare waitstaff that actually enjoys people and has fun serving delicious meals to fatsos like myself. I am by no means a Mexican food expert but something about the salsa here was noticeably great. Careful not to fill up on the tortilla chips! I know I had the combo fajitas — BANGIN! but I can’t tell you what my friends ordered cuz I was hypnotized by how amazing my food was. Whatever they had was happily scoffed down in record time, too. I’ve had fajitas at a lot of places and these really stood out. Just a good, authentic home cooked taste. Our delightful waitress kept our sodas full and table clean as we ate. When the dreaded check came we were actually quite surprised. Very well priced! Since we were too stuffed to stand up, the staff carried us out to the car and buckled us all in. They waved goodbye with tears streaming as we drove off into the Enfield sunset, well aware we had just eaten the best Mexican meal of our lives.

Their food is really good but it’s a little salty for me. Most of the waitress are really attentive and nice. If you have an allergy, you have to keep reminding them or they may forget.

A year or two ago, Acapulcos would have received at least four stars, as this was my go-to place for Mexican food in Enfield. However, I’ve discovered a much more authentic(and much cheaper) alternative also in Enfield. While Acapulcos does still deliver a variety of Mexican dishes, the food, in my opinion, leans toward the American-Mexican, rather than authentic Mexican food that I could easily get from«back home» in Los Angeles, CA. Drinks are very good, however — and service is always courteous and quick. The restaurant is nicely decorated, and the complimentary chips/salsa are always warm and fresh. We will continue to frequent Acapulcos if we’re dining with a large group, but if we want truly tasty, authentic Mexican food, we go to Sarapes just a few blocks away.

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Hartford area. It’s about a 20 drive from Hartford but I will be going here more often. The food was excellent and not too salty which is what I fear mostly at Mexican restaurants. The people were very nice as well. The portions were very generous. The only negative is that the prices might be just a bit higher than average but I guess you get what you pay for.

Huge portions, good food. Good margaritas. Very helpful and friendly staff. We sat in the bar area, very busy Friday. Enchiladas were tasty, child rellenos were good. We will be back to try more food.

I’ve been to a lot of places today and they have the best chips. Very good margaritas but pricey for a pitcher. Fajitas were bomb. The pescado frito was exquisite. To Mario, From BV family

I am a big fan of Acapulco’s and a tough critic of Mexican food. I don’t believe I’ve ever ordered something here that I didn’t like. In my opinion this is the best authentic Mexican food in the area. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because I’ve been to Mexico and at one point stayed in Arizona for a while, so I just can’t give it a 5. It’s very good for CT!

This place is a gem for all those traveling to or from Vermont. Just off 91 in Enfield next to the Big Y. Easy parking, clean with ample seating. Food is great. Table side guacamole is fresh and delicious. Exceptional chips and salsa. Pollo Mole was flavorful. Kids had nachos and enchiladas both cleaned their plates. My wife enjoyed an enchilada mole. Menu is extensive and priced very responsibly. Service was spot on. Our waiter was always right there with out ever hovering. Relaxed pace to the meal and water glasses always full. It’s the perfect Mexican stop coming home from VT. We’ll be back!!! Especially for the guacamole!!!

friendly staff, excellent nachos and salsa. We especially liked the vegetarian menu because it was so delicious which is usually a hit or miss in mexican restaurants. We will be back again A+++

Ok… Here it goes… This will probably be unpopular but it is honest. My girlfriend and I go down to em field often. I am from CT she is from MA. That being said between our two locations there are hundreds if not thousands of Mexican restaurants. I myself having lived in south Texas for many years and being of Hispanic heritage gravitate to Mexican food. We came to acapulcos following a high help rating… We found the absolutely best thing about this place is the service. Our server was Oscar and let me tell you he is a professional. Oscar is by far one of the best servers I have had since I have left NYC. Oscar is friendly and attentive. On top of that all the other employees we encountered were extremely hospitable and attentive. This is the place to go if you want service. The Cons… It pains men say this but the food was sub par. I have been to the Manchester location for Plaza Azteca and their enfield location is up the road from Acapulcos… Next time we are heading there. Our food was either cold or bland. Other Unilocalers on here clearly dig the table side guacamole… I wish I saw that sooner as we neglected to order it. We started with the chicken taquitos… Slightly caustic to the palate. It was a very salty and dry dish. The taste was tolerable if you could handle the salt but my mouth literally hurt afterwards. The chips here however are delicious… It’s possible I hurt my mouth on the plethora of chips I consumed prior to the appetizer, only to have my mouth punished by the taquitos. The salsa with said chips was extremely runny and it only left me disappointed. The fresh cilantro in it was the only saving grace. I ordered a taco, it was one of the house specials, the steak was extremely over cooked and or low quality, and all of the tacos were cold. The flavor was good… The cooking skill was minimal. My girlfriend ordered an enchilada with their blended meat filling… They were actually extremely tasty and were a better option… She, however, was disappointed because they were spicy and it wasn’t known that this meat choice had a hot flavor… That maybe why I liked them. The cost wasn’t cheap and the drinks, while large, we’re not cheap either. I ordered an el jimador margarita and it was ok… The only drawback was they clearly are skimping on booze and or their margarita mix is waaaaay too sweet. Beware the sub par rather generic Mexican food but!, if you want excellent service come here. Oscar and the team won’t let you down.

We love Acapulcos! Been there many times and the food is delicious every time — never disappointed. The queso is so amazing, I could go in just for queso and margaritas! But of course dinner is always excellent too. Service is always very friendly and prompt. It’s nice to get a «nice to see you guys again» from the waitstaff, too. Great place! Best restaurant in Enfield.

I am very picky about Mexican food, but I was pleasantly surprised by this establishment. The décor was fun and inviting, the staff was friendly and attentive and the food was great. The carnitas tacos were delicious but I didn’t try the red sauce on the side because I like my carnitas plain like they are served in Mexico. The guacamole was also fresh and well prepared. The rice and beans were very authentic with bits of tomato and onion in the rice and slightly chunky refried beans. The only reason I gave a four instead of five is because the fried ice cream was a bit soggy. Overall a great find in New England and we will be back.

Great Mexican food! I had the Asada Burrito. Not just a burrito on a plate, but authentic rice and beans plus guacamole and sour cream. I barely finished it, great portion. The Asada steak was not spicy and actual strip steak nicely grilled. I loved it! We ordered a fried ice cream to share. Drizzled with chocolate and in a crispy shell. Awesome price for a shared dessert.

Acapulco’s is sort of a poor man’s Margaritas which is sort of a poor man’s everything else. We were here with a group of eight. I ordered the fish tacos which came with three tacos. One taco had no tilapia. Several others at the table had issues with their meal as well. Our niece had a kids beef taco that seemed like it was made with sponge cake. Black beans straight out of the can without seasoning. Premium margaritas ordered with patron coming back all sugary mix. Our waitress however was very apologetic and very accomodating. She was great. But ultimately the quality of food was enough to keep us away. Better options everywhere else.

Table side guacamole, amazing margaritas and ample serving options makes Acapulco’s a great place to eat. This is actually my second time here and both times it has been delicious. Always order the table side guacamole. It’s freshly made to order. This time I got the ocean enchiladas. The tortillas were fresh and the seafood well seasoned. My dinner partner had the tres amigos(shrimp, steak and chicken) which was also good. I had the black jack margarita which was well made. All around very good.

We came here after a 2 hour drive and was pleasantly surprised. We started off with the table side guacamole. It’s about $ 8 and they use 2 whole avocados. What a deal. It was great, and worth the price. For a meal, we ordered 2 different chimichangas. I have never see a menu with 4 different types of chimichangas before. They were good, you get a lot of food. The rice was alright, and I don’t like beans, so. If I’m ever in the area again, this would definitely be a place to revisit.

I wish we had one of these near me! Great service, drinks, fresh chips, great food. Try the Blackjack Margarita. Also, they make fresh guacamole table side! Large, comfortable and CLEAN seating area.

Acupulco’s is a great spot for a casual, but fun, dinner with family, friends, or on a date. The environment caters to many occasions, and it’s great for kids too. I’ve been surprised to see how much this place can fill up on a weeknight, but on the weekends during the busy dinner times, you can expect a wait. You can always grab a drink in the bar area while you wait, although seating will probably be limited if it’s busy. Their margaritas are really the way to go here. They have a couple beers on draft, and some bottled selections. But I would recommend just going for the ‘rita. The servers have always been very friendly and attentive, and can explain anything on the menu for you. Speaking of the menu, I find it to be very large, which is a good thing if you want a lot of options, but a bad thing if you have a hard time making up your mind. The portions are generous, but not overwhelming. I’ve always been a big fan of the fajitas, and if someone orders them at a table near yours, you will probably be enticed to try them yourself because they smell so damn good! The combinations are also satisfying and an economical choice. The only thing that I really have not liked here is the torta. It was not a traditional torta and there was not a lot of flavor there. The fries that were served with it were soggy. My advice would be to skip the torta and to ditch the fries altogether here and just go for rice and beans. I mean, it IS a Mexican restaurant! I’m not much a dessert person, so I can’t speak to that portion of the menu. Although I have seen some people order the fried ice cream and it looks pretty good!

Tried coming here for the first time this past weekend with my two best friends and all of us loved it! Our waitress was so sweet, super friendly, and helpful when deciding what to order. We immediately put in an order for the tableside guacamole and a bowl of queso dip. Both were SO delicious. I’ve never had a more fresh guacamole! The chips were those thin yellow tortilla chips that came out hot and fresh. My favorite! I ordered the tacos Al Carbon and they were amazing. The strip steak was flavorful and juicy and the tacos were the perfect size. All the ingredients were fresh fresh fresh! I also had the Rosarita margarita and it was like heaven in a glass. My friends and I were very excited to order their desserts after reading other reviews. But we had eaten so much of the amazing food that we were too full. We look forward to going back to get desserts next time! Nice ambiance, great friendly service, and delicious authentic Mexican food!

Ughhh… I hate to be that person with the lame review amongst a billion good ones… but I’m doing it anyways. This place has pretty generic Mexican food — there wasn’t much on the menu that blew my mind. It was edible. The part that wasn’t edible was the piece of plastic in my enchilada… that wasn’t as edible. I know that mistakes happen in the kitchen, but it doesn’t inspire confidence when I end up putting it in my mouth. No thanks. Sorry Acapulcos — I’ll venture elsewhere for my Mexican food.

Authentic and delicious Mexican food. The margaritas are enormous, and well worth the price! Fast and friendly service with a smile. Wait time for the meal was a bit long, but overall a great experience.

We’ve been here multiple times and are always happy with the portions, taste, and service. The sangria comes in a giant glass too! The chips and salsa on the table are crisp and fresh and bottomless. I love the nachos and the tostada salad while the hub always gets a combo since he likes variety. Definitely try this restaurant out– you won’t be disappointed.

I had the street tacos and they were delicious — I’m very picky about chicken and all the ingredients were high quality and delicious. Huge portion too — enough for dinner and then lunch leftovers the next day. I would definitely order this again. I’m not wild about the rice, but I think that’s a style preference. Our waitress, Liz, was outstanding. She was friendly and helpful, and treated us and our toddler with respect. She brought drink refills without being asked. She checked in just enough. Every waitress should be as good as she was. Thanks Liz!

Very impressed with this restaurant! I had pretty low expectations as it is a Mexican restaurant in a shopping plaza in Enfield, but it did not dissapoint! Even though it was a Saturday night and pretty busy, we were sat right away and our server was over within minutes. We ordered fairly quick and didn’t wait too long for our food. Everything was tasty and our server was such a doll! From the outside, you wouldn’t be too impressed, but once you step inside and give it a chance, you will be glad that you did !
