I live very close to a produce store right where I live here in Springfield, close enough that I can walk to it if I’d like, but I travel to Enfield Produce about once a week because I’ve found their produce is fresher. I’ve recently started juicing, so I’m buying a lot more produce than I used to. Not only is the produce fresher, but it is significantly less expensive than the grocery stores, and my juices taste great. Just as an example, this week they have fresh strawberries 2lbs for $ 3, and they are fresh, and taste awesome!(I picked up 4 lbs while I was there, along with my other purchases). The owner and the employees are also very friendly and pleasant to deal with. I look forward to my visits, and always come home with a huge haul to make my juices with for the week.

I tossed around the idea of writing a review for a while. I have been going to Enfield Produce for over 2.5 years now. I must agree with all the reviews and say the prices are awesome. When I first tried the Vegan life, this place came in handy as it was my only place to shop during the week and I can walk out with spending $ 20.00 on a box of chuck full of Fruits and Veggies. Once I moved out of Enfield, I did not shop as frequently at Enfield Produce. I started going back twice a month starting in October 2012. This is where I tossed around the idea of writing a review as I really wanted to get a couple good solid months of experience to really write a awesome review as I remembered this place 2.5 years ago… well. that is not the case. I am a bit disappointed where my favorite produce store has gone. let me say it.downhill. When I walked in, I noticed so many old stains on the ceiling, which hang right over the produce. Eek! I went right over to the red peppers, cucumbers, green & yellow squash. Mushy and very«tired» looking. I was SO surprised that this limp cucumber stood before me. Why? Why!?! Ok, ok, maybe I am being too judgmental. Moving on. Broccoli, lettuce, parsley, grapes are looking good, phew! Cantaloupes– dead Fuji apples– brown and brused Grapefruit-funky looking & very soft. At this point I was disgusting and asking myself– why would produce that is THIS old being sold? I thought to myself maybe it is just today, but when I started coming back more frequently, it was the same story. The store also use to be very busy every time I shopped(I normally go Sunday afternoon) and there is only one person in there when it use to be packed to the brim. I should of known this was a true indicator. I now am choosy about what I purchase in this store. I will shop for broccoli, pea pods, big Carrots in the bag, onion, garlic, sometimes grapes, and bananas… that is it. I spend a good time hunting for fresh produce where before this was never a issue. I also noticed a slight increase in the prices but nothing to complain about. I honestly think they buy too much produce for the lack of demand. I will admit I am sad about this as this was my out from being chained to the grocery store. Not anymore. My suggestion would be to be careful about what you purchase and really inspect it. If you use a credit card, it is a $ 10.00 min. I give Enfield Produce Three Stars for parking, having some of the items I eat, and the nice staff. They really are lovely.

This is our go to spot for fresh produce. The prices are great, there’s a great variety of fresh produce, and the owners are pleasant. My fiancé is into juicing so we’re here all the time!

Enfield is a little far off from the place I live, so drop by once in two months or so to pick only the veggies n fruits here. The store is located on the main road, it can be easily located and they also have private parking space right in front of the store. The store is neatly organized and maintained well. I call it a mini super market. The store is small yet has quite a lot of stuffs. I usually buy veggies and fruits. They also have spices, juices, pastas, milk, tofu, cottage cheese, eggs, rice etc… Love the quality of veggies and fruits. The store has many variety of fruits n the prices are pretty reasonable. The produce is straight from the farmers so its fresh always :) Wow I end up stuffing my boot whenever i shop here, however the price I pay would be 20 to 30 $. Thats so cool right?

Great selection of fruits and vegetables, but the coolest thing is the Turkish ethnic food! I had to seriously hold myself back from buying every tempting sweet they had available(and they had a lot) like turkish delight and these awesome raspberry tartlet that I did end up getting. They also had a large selection of fruit nectars(think thick juice with added sugar). I also tried turkish cheese that I liked a lot. They also have this cream-cheesy spread that is similar to Requejao if you’re familiar with that(it’s common in Brazil). The people that work there are really nice as well.

A local family run produce store, with helpful and friendly staff to boot. This place is great, If, I emphasize If, you know what your looking for. That being said. If you know what time of year certain fresh fruits and vegetables are in season. They have great stuff at certain times. For example, If you want fresh tomatoes you would find the best ones between mid August through mid September. Some of there veggies aren’t always the prettiest, but who cares right? To me that just means, it’s not genetically altered grown in a greenhouse in California or some distant state, and is local and therefor fresher. They also have fresh herbs most of the time(parsley, cilantro, garlic, mint to name a few). Offering a good selection of most vegetables at very reasonable prices(A head of celery costs 99 cents) They also have milk and eggs as well. Well worth checking this place out.
