I give 4 stars for the game itself, 2 stars for the venue, total of 3 stars. Pro’s: The game is a blast, it’s fun and challenging, but anyone can play. Great for big parties or team building sessions. The staff is accommodating and genuinely wants you to have a good time. They let you bring your own food and booze, which is great to save money. They are fairly relaxed about drinking as long as everyone is staying safe and doesn’t bring it on the court. Large groups of 30 or 40 can easily fit and have room to spread out food and drinks. Con’s: The building is in pretty rough shape. It’s been at least 3 years and it still looks like it’s half moved into or half vacated. Just a few cans of paint and some working light fixtures would really make a big difference in the overall appearance. The cars sometimes breakdown, which can frustrate the driver, or limit games from being 5 on 5 to 4 on 4, or even 3 on 3. However, the smaller games are still fun, it just limits how many games everyone gets to participate in. Overall, I’d recommend a Whirlyball party if you have a big enough party to keep the cost reasonable per person($ 200/hr).

Incredibly fun game, pretty terrible building and infrastructure. WhirlyBall is so exciting to play. Its a combination of bumper cars, lacrosse, and basketball that is excellent for big groups. The facility, however, is not nice. The building itself is simple. You have the court, some ping pong and pool tables, and i think an arcade. You can BYOB, but can’t drink it on the court, completely understandable. The cars are in rough shape. We had to stop our game multiple times because some of the cars didn’t work. I think one of them caught on fire. The rackets are mostly broken, the balls completely dented and caved in, it wasn’t impressive. I would only go back with a Groupon deal or if they cleaned the place up a bit and invested in new equipment.

at first i was afraid, i was petrified. oh wait, that is a disco song. whirly ball, you had me at whirly. bumper cars and jai alai? sounds like a winner. it looked goofy and dated, but it was a blast. we were here for a nice byob party and it was a lot more fun than we expected. if you have a bunch of like minded friends and want to play a sport that involves sitting, this is for you.

Whirly Ball. Fuck. Yes. I didn’t realize such an amazing thing existed until I went this Spring! I mean, BYOB bumper car basketball/lacrosse in a private indoor arena? Surrounded by pool tables? Ping pong tables? And Foosball tables galore? AND you can bring your own music to blast over their sound system? I just can’t hide my love and excitement that something so simple, yet creative(and borderline unsafe) is legal. It’s like your richest friend’s sick warehouse basement, WITHBUMPERCARS!!! I wish they’d open one in Massachusetts. I’d go every other week! I’m pretty sure you have to book a reservation in advance in order to partake in the fun. They have food and soda, but you can also bring your own if you want, which is awesome. It’s around $ 180 – 200 an hour depending on which night you go, and it helps to have a crew of at least 20 people. The dude that runs it is wicked chill and semi-sexual(is that inappropriate? Probably. I don’t care). His arms are tatted up, and if you ask nicely enough, he’ll share stories of their significance. If you ever find yourself staying in/around, or passing through Enfield, CT for whatever reason, give this place a call and see if you can set something up. You’ll leave with whiplash, bruised knees(and possibly egos), and a slap on the wrist if you break«THERULES,» but I promise you won’t regret it. Whirly Ball is in its own unique, ridiculous, can’t-believe-it’s-real category of fun. *Sidenote: Did you know that in CT it is LEGAL to drive with an open container of alcohol?! As long as the driver isn’t drinking it(duh), it’s completely kosher. Win!

Whirly Ball rocks! A great way to spend a few hours with a group of friends. Best way I can describe it is as it was described to me — polo in bumper cars. The place is not much to look at, but the game is a blast — played in teams. There’s a pool table and some arcade style games scattered around the place — all free with your booking, which is by the hour. The place is yours alone for that time. You bring your own food and drink. They even let us play our own CDs on the sound system. Make a day of it and go somewhere for lunch or dinner. Book an hour or two and find out just how competitive and aggressive your friends really are!
