I have been looking for 6 years, since coming back from New York, for a hair stylist. One that really knows what they are doing!
I am over the moon happy I found Paul at Alchemy! I had the most wonderful, relaxing, pampering morning! Paul was welcoming, nice, communicative, perfect questionings, fantastic professionalism, very calming to be around. I felt so at home! I LOVE and adore my hair cut, I love EVERYTHING about it!(One other person in 38 years has done that) I am very picky and I love alchemy, Paul and my cut. I have found where I will be until he resigns. i do recommend him to anyone and everyone with much confidence

I came to Paul for a haircut and a Brazilian blowout. I have always had curly, frizzy, and generally tough to manage hair. I feel like I’ve tried everything to make it look cute curly but I was never satisfied with the results so I have been straightening my hair for a long time. I have dreamed of having smooth hair that I could let air dry without it turning into a rats nest. I finally decided to try a Brazilian Blowout (my first treatment of any kind besides color) but I was afraid to get my hopes up too high. My expectations were beyond exceeded! As soon as I washed it I let it air dry and it was completely frizz-​free and almost straight, with just a little wave (I realize everyones hair reacts to this treatment differently so another persons hair might not be as straight as mine ended up, as it is not a straightening treatment per say). It is so shiny and healthy looking. I cannot believe I waited so long to give myself this little gift — but it makes it that much sweeter. I am so happy to have taken the plunge, and I definitely made the right choice choosing Paul — he is an absolute professional, in practice and manner. If you want it done right, don’t cut corners! Paul offered me a glass of wine which I gladly accepted and he was lovely to talk to throughout the appointment. I will absolutely be back!

Paul gives the best and fastest Brazilian blowouts! I came here years ago on a living social deal and decided to come back. Easy Location to get to. Great conversation too !!

Just went in for my first brazilian blowout; first time there. Paul did an amazing job, was professional and friendly and didn’t try to push products on me. I will be going back for sure!

Well update I have been back in Englewood for a few months and just wanted to say I made an appointment w Paul as soon as I got settled in the city limits. And again I left with my beautiful hairstyle along w a Brazilian Blowout that looked Fabulous! I guess you can say I am biased if you want but I do know a good hair stylist when I am in the presence of one. I’ve spent enough money on my hair, I think that makes me a bit of a professional in that aspect of my life. Not to mention I’ve been to a lot of salons in Dallas and had my Blowout fall out in less than two weeks and paid twice the price Paul charges. Can’t say enough about Paul, he is super!!! His client list is filling up since my last visit. I hope I can get back in when I come back to the area. Was in Englewood CO area for a short time w work and found this Fantastic yet comfy lil Salon thru Unilocal.Paul Schmidlkofer is an awesome stylist, I got a fantastic cut and also a week later he did a Brazialian Blowout. I have had several done by different stylists before and my opinion is Paul really knows his stuff! My hair feels so soft and is healthy again and if you have course thick hair like mine you know what that means! When I’m in the area again I will call Paul!

Adorable little salon on South Broadway! I had an appointment with Paul, he was very professional and did a fantastic job! I just went with a haircut for my first visit to check things out, but will definitely be back for more of the services offered! A little expensive, but well worth it!

I am not sure how this place has gotten such rave reviews-​maybe they are all friends of the owner? I moved to Denver from Chicago, and have tried many different places in the area. I tried this place on the basis of the great Unilocal reviews. I should have known better. Paul may seem like he is experienced, but I was sadly disappointed in my cut. The ends were uneven, he really was unsure of what he was doing. I asked at one point what kind of layers he was planning on doing and he said he didn’t know, but would figure it out. That should have been my clue right there. At the end of our cut I saw how bad it was but did not want to ask him to «fix» it since I knew he would probably just screw it up even worse. BTW, I walked in for a one-​two inch trim and ended up with a short short bob. Thanks but no thanks.

Alchemy Salon is a great place! Paul colors my hair… He is also very funny and so I leave smiling. Enjoy my visit every time.

I moved to Denver from Minneapolis two years ago. The only time I had my hair cut during that time was when I went back home to Minnesota. I finally decided to take a leap of faith and check out Alchemy Salon… 4175 Broadway Ave S in Englewood between Oxford and Princeton across the street from the car wash. It’s conveniently located just up the road from me and has all the services I need.
I recently booked an appointment with Melinda, and she was BEYOND AWESOME! I met Paul today, and he was just as awesome! She greeted me with a glass of water and my choice of a glass of wine. I couldn’t believe it. SO nice! She gave me the BEST and LONGEST head rub I’ve ever had. Oh, and my hair turned out perfectly. I’ll DEFINITELY be back there. That’s for sure! :D

I went to Alchemy Salon this weekend and worked with Melinda on a new all-​over color and cut. First of all, the salon’s atmosphere is wonderful. Cozy and chic. Second, Melinda is an extraordinarily talented stylist. She helped me pick a color that worked well with my natural skin tone but still satisfied the look I wanted to achieve. The hair cut is the finest quality one I’ve had in a long time. Plus, this incredibly high quality salon is so affordable. If you are looking for a new salon, definitely give Alchemy a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

I saw Paul for the first time about a month ago. He’s awesome! I had a hair cut from a different salon before him that I just didn’t like. He really took the time to go over what I wanted He fixed it and now I love my hair again! He also gives fabulous scalp massages! Can’t wait to go back, perhaps for some color! I just went back for my 2^nd haircut, and made my appointment for color!

After bouncing around Englewood looking for a stylist I like, I found Paul on Unilocal and went in for a haircut. What a find! Paul is delightful, talented and quite interested in his client’s preferences, wishes, etc. His ideas are well thought out and he is so pleasant to talk to. How I could’ve missed this little gem of a salon, I’ll never know! I am thrilled w/​my haircut and this experience.

Paul is fantastic! I’ve been to him for color, cuts, and the Brazilian Blowout. He always goes well out of his way to make me comfortable, including hot towels and red wine! He always makes me feel at ease when I’m doing what I would consider a major change and it always turns out beautifully. The salon is quaint and cute and cozy. A great experience!

I purchased a living social voucher for a Brazilian Blowout and am beyond pleased with the results. Paul is talented and knowledgeable and the B-​hive is a hidden gem. Well worth the 20 minute drive from central denver for gorgeous hair!
Update: 3 years later, I’ve moved to CA and still go to (now) Alchemy salon whenever I visit. I’ve had blowouts and keratin treatments from many other salons and they are never as good; they don’t last as long and (in CA) are more expensive.
