If I ever need to go back for any bloodwork, I hands down, will be returning to LabCorp on Van Brunt, which is located right next to the Crown Plaza off of Rt. 4. The facility was super airy, bright, and clean. The staff quite pleasant and speedy. We were in and out on a Friday morning in 15 mins(perhaps it was quicker because we went the Friday during independence day wknd). Because I’m a pretty thorough and organized person, I usually handle all my paperwork before hand, so that I can avoid any holdups or delays. My time is precious. The office person had no problem pulling up my appointment, which included all my pre-filled docs. All she needed form me was my ID and insurance card. Boom Bam –Done! We were being escorted to the back room. The technician was very nice, and because she wasn’t dealing with me but with my two toddlers, I paid even closer attention on how she was going to get them to sit still and calm them for what was about to happen. She aced it in my book. I am completely baffled by the experiences of the other reviewers, maybe we just lucked out: shrug:

This poor woman working here had to run the front desk and perform all tests for all patients. What a poorly run business. At least hire a young unskilled worker to run the front desk… They are wasting this woman’s skills by making her do administrative BS as well. The wait-time was ridiculous.

LEAVEITTOLABCORPTOTREATMELIKE A PIN-CUSHION! So my wife and I were going there to get some routine bloodwork. When confirming the location and the hours of availability my wife asks them if we could make an appointment. She is told that appointments are not necessary and that people are taken on a first come first serve basis. Big mistake, we should have insisted on making an appointment while we had them on the phone. So Saturday morning arrives and we head to the local Engelwood LabCorp where we were told to go for our testing. We arrive and there are already a few other couples ahead of us. No matter at all. It shouldn’t take THAT long to get bloodwork done. Things are taking a lot long than normal and then we realize that there is only one person that is working the list and taking blood. At first he is taking people by the order of their names on the list, but then we start to notice that he is asking people if they made an appointment and starts referring to ANOTHER list. He then starts bumping people that signed in for those that made an appointment. After a while I start getting a bit rowdy and start asking people if they were also told they didn’t need to make a reservation and before you knew it we had a mutiny on our hands and the whole room is jeering this guy every time he sticks his head into the waiting room. After an hour of waiting another phlebotomist finally comes in to save him from the angry mob of people waiting to get their blood drawn. At last I’m at the front of the line and with the luck I’ve been having all day, is it any wonder that I got the phlebotomist that I was mouthing off to for the last hour while I was impatiently waiting to get my blood done? He said that he was having the hardest time finding my vein and had to jab me several times in order to get a good draw. I guess I didn’t tell you that I’m deathly afraid of needles. I guess next time I should keep my mouth shut until AFTER the phlebotomist decides to use my arm for dart practice. Well, at least I got the last word on that issue…
