So sorry to say they have CLOSED Went there today and they are gone. Place is dark and no sign as to what happened. Went across the street for lunch and asked them. They said they just never came back. Sad

One of the many amazing middle eastern restaurants in Englewood. I think they have the best dips, and they are great accompaniments to they’re warm, fresh Turkish bread. I recommend the cold meze platter. My favorite is the borani. We always get their adana kebab and lamb kebab. Both are great pieces of meat with sides of a side of grilled vegetables and a tomato barley dish.

I really wanted to give this place 5 stars and would have if it weren’t for the service. Sometimes the servers are awkward and one time I went, me and my fiancé were seated and we were 1 of 2 tables in the entire place(inside and out) with people at them and we waited about 40 minutes until the waiter came out to see us. I have NOIDEA how that could have happened but it was honestly unacceptable. Not only that but when we finally put our order in it took another 40 minutes to get the food. By the time our food came out there were 3 tables in the entire place with people at them so there was no reason for there to be such a massive delay. If we are talking food, it’s amazing. The food is top-tier, just absolutely delicious. I really love this place but try not to be the first to get there when they open if you want superior service. I do recommend this place though and look forward to my next visit.

This place was good. Me and my girl went with another couple on a double date. The ambiance was solid. The staff was attentive. Plus, it’s BYOB, which is always a plus. The appetizer sampler platter was very good. The mussels were terrible. For entrée, I had lamb chops, which were fantastic. They came with mashed potatoes and coleslaw, which were both okay. My girl had ground lamb, which wasn’t great. The other couple had whole Bronzino and and lamb kebabs, which they both seemed to like very much. This place was pretty solid, but nothing special about it.

I’ve had better? Can that sum this place up? First, the place is nice, ambiance speaking. Cozy, small and BYOB I would definitely suggest making a reservation or you may have a wait and I’m always of the mindset better be safe than sorry. Let’s get right to it. The highlight of the meal: the hot apps platter with some piping hot bread with olives. The variety of 4 apps were all delicious from the perfectly fried falafel to the other various fried apps, I would definitely recommend to share this. Perfect for 3 – 4 people. The mussels were fine. Nothing special. I was excited for the rest of the meal but my kofte fell short. Ground lamb patties, these had an extra crunch — looks like ligaments. I was spitting out this cartilage at dinner with friends. A little embarrassing, a little nasty, no flavor and I didn’t finish. I always finish. My friends and man all enjoyed their main plates but, nothing like«oooh my lordie, this is amazing.» The baklava and the Turkish coffee were decent. Again nothing to write home about. The service was good and overall this was an enjoyable evening. I would definitely venture to other spots to check the other Mediterranean spots in Bergen County but not a bad place to meet up with some friends and enjoy a night out!

BYOB A small yet lovely little place. The décor is simple yet pretty & elegant. Intimate vibe. Service was efficient & friendly. If I’m not mistaken this place popped up in spring/summer 2011. Had been wanting to check it out for a while & a friend I came dinner over Memorial day weekend as we had decide to stay in town. For starters: Grilled octopus, Sigara Borek & Borani. Deelish! The octopus is usually tricky… over cooked can be chewy and it must have the right amount of seasoning to be flavorful. It was very well done. Main courses: My friend got the Lamb dish which was the special for the night, served with rice and I got the Beef Barg with rice. Nice presentation, and the meats were very well prepared. Good portions & delicious. Dessert: no room left! Prices: considering the ambiance & food quality/portions I think it’s quite reasonable. Looking forward to dining here again soon.

Went here on the weekend for lunch — while using a living social coupon. The restaurant itself seems modern and crisp and the music was middle eastern. We had the appetizer platter for four. We had the Hummus, Tabbouleh, yogurt dip and a couple of eggplant dips. The platter was delicious and generous enough to justify the price tag. We had the a couple of spicy beef kebabs with Jasmine rice. The Jasmine Rice was bland, but the Kebabs were nicely seasoned. The service was light and it was challenging at time to get the servers attention for a water refill. Overall, it was an upscale Turkish restaurant with good appetizers, Average entrees and sparse service. May come back if I’m back in the area.

Was hoping this place would fill the void left by Nisi in Englewood, but it fell way short. Went with my wife on a Saturday evening. We are 34 and 35 years old. We love mediterranean food and eat it all the time. Food: 2 out 5 Ordered Hot Meze Plate and it was ok. Dips/sauces seemed watered down, lacked taste. Falafel was ok. We ordered Beef Barg and the Lamb Chops and neither had a wow factor. My wife’s Barg was undercooked(to her liking). My lamb chops lacked flavor, seasoning. Service: 2 out 5 Waiters were more pre-occupied with their looks than service. Not once did they come by and pour our wine. The hostess(maybe owner) was the one that asked us how everything was when our food was delivered because she happened to be at the table next door and noticed my wife inspecting her food which was not cooked to her liking(which is no big deal, we don’t normally make a stink about food being slightly undercooked or not how we want it like some diners). But overall service was not great. Ambiance: Place has a nice modern look and feel to it. The crowd that night was older/mature for the most part. There was one other couple with a 2 year old and stroller. But this place is not kid friendly(at least not indoors). Place is BYOB. There is a liquor store next door. We usually benchmark mediterranean food around these parts to Nisi and Greek Taverna in Edgewate and It’s Greek to me. Levant Grill fell short. Greek Taverna offers more authentic Greek/mediterranean(more casual atmosphere overall) but great food. We also like Rose’s in Englewood(Lebanese food). Service is lacking here, but the food is great and very authentic. We go just BYOB and pick at appetizers. This is our objective opinion. We weren’t wow’d and would probably not go back.

We were in the area and read the reviews, decided to try it. Everything was just fine. Service, ambience, food, value. All good. Started with the cold mezze. Delish! I had the Lamb shish, she had the persian chicken stew. Turkish pudding desert. If I had to mention a negative, we had to wait for five minutes after the desert was served to get coffee– other than that, highly recommended. Oh yeah– left my CC on the table, and before I managed to drive away, the waiter checked my open table reservation and called me on my cell to let me know to come back and retrieve it!!! Kudos for that.

I had eaten here months ago, probably shortly after it opened. At that point i had really enjoyed the food. I was in the area again today, and decided to have lunch here again. Ordered the chicken adana sandwich, which came with fries… and i also ordered a side of hummus, and a diet coke. Sandwich was somewhat small… which is not a problem… i am willing to pay for quality over quantity. But the quality was not there. everything was underseasoned… and just didn’t taste really fresh. the fries that came with the sandwich were good… again very under seasoned. The side of hummus came just as a side of hummus… no bread, no olive oil or anything else on top to make it look appetizing. They did bring me some bread once i asked for it. Again, it was very under seasoned… and didn’t really have much flavor. The tiny bottle of diet coke was $ 2.75… Almost $ 20 for lunch, and it just was not very satisfying. On the up side… i was able to sit and enjoy the nice day outside.

Our group of four came in for dinner on a Friday night. The dining room was quiet and nearly empty at 7 pm, but it quickly filled up. Unfortunately, it got so loud that our group could not talk comfortably. It was a very mixed crowd: sometimes I would look over at adjacent tables and see very well-dressed couples and groups; other times, I would look elsewhere and see families with young children who were playing on iPhones or other electronic devices. The food was pretty good, but not great for the price. You are paying for the ambience and nice décor. However, when the dining room is as crowded and noisy as it was for us, then the ambience and the food are both lacking. –S

Nice décor. Good service. Mediocre-average food. Like most restaurants in the area, it’s BYOB with no corkage fee. We started with the Cold Meze Plate: 1) Humus 2) Ezme 3) 2 orders of the Dolma(grape leaves stuffed with rice, spices, and lightly browned onion, cooked in olive oil 4) Mast-o Khiar(Persian inspired creamy yogurt, with diced cucumbers, mint and herbs) — Humus & Ezme were average, the Mast-o Khlar was decent. The grape leaves were my favorite as they were not your typical grape leaves(but was still good) Entrees: 1) Beef Barg(Filet Mignon marinated in onion, pepper and olive oil grilled, served over a bed of Basmati rice with grilled tomato, pepper and onion) 2) Chicken Adana Kebab(spicy ground chicken, skewered and cooked over a charcoal grill, served with bulgur pilaf, grilled tomato, pepper and onion) 3) Joeje Kebab(pieces of chicken breast seasoned in a marinade of Persian spices then char-grilled on skewers, served alongside grilled tomato, pepper, onion and Basmati rice) — the meats were a little dry, and the filet mignon wasn’t cooked well. The service wasn’t bad. I would highly recommend Bennie’s Englewood which is only a few stores down.

Came here at 8pm on a Saturday night and the place was packed, not an empty seat in the house. The first thing they asked us when we walked in was if we had a reservation. Since we hadn’t originally planned on coming here, we didn’t. NOTE: If you plan on coming here, make a reservation. We happened to be really lucky and a table was getting ready to pay and leave so we only had to wait about 5 minutes. It’s a BYOB restaurant and the staff is very attentive. They will take your bottle(s) right away and keep them chilled and bring them to the table, etc. The décor and ambiance is really nice. Classy and modern, yet relaxed. It’s small and the tables are a bit crowded, but no more so than any typical restaurant in Manhattan. As such, it gives off the NYC vibe. The food was good. We had tabbouleh and falafel for starters and then kabobs for entrees. I had the minced lamb kabobs which were really spicy. They let me substitute rice for the accompanying bulgur. The kabobs were served sans sticks with a roasted green pepper, a roasted tomato, some sliced red onion, and the rice. I wish I could say that the food was better than it was. It was very good, but I really would have liked to have been wowed by it. It was actually pretty basic, but done well. The portions were substantial and we were all too full for dessert. I even came here with a huge appetite and I was full. The prices were okay. Not overly expensive, but not a really great deal also. The lamb kabobs were $ 18.95 if I remember correctly. The starters that we had were about $ 7 or $ 8 each. The service was outstanding. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and they checked on our meals on numerous occasions. I would definitely come here again. It makes for a really nice night out.

Oh, Mediterranean food… I crave you like sunlight. Went for lunch on a Monday, and it was delightful. The place is small but lovely, and once seated, not crazily crowded. Service was prompt and easy, bread was delish and plentiful. The red lentil soup was good, if not exciting, but the yogurt soup(soup of the day) was outstanding. I had the lunch version of the Lamb Shish Kebab: lean cubes of lamb, marinated and grilled over a charcoal fire served with bulgur pilaf and grilled tomatoes, peppers and onions. The lamb, although not a huge amount was PERFECT. I mean, like, cooked like it was a winner of Top Chef perfect. I didn’t care for the bulgur pilaf, but I had some of the fries that they serve: amazing.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 5 ½ years. Prior to our dinner at Levant Grille, the only restaurants Jordan ever picked for date nights involved happy hour specials or drive-thru’s. I had to wonder what he wanted from me when he suggested a BYOB Mediterranean restaurant. I became even more skeptical as we walked up to the front of Levant and saw the beautiful set up! The décor is chic and extremely inviting. My first thought was«Wow, this place must be expensive!» but I assure you that it is not! Prices are unbelievably fair! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I asked our waitress about a particular item that she was unsure about and she immediately went to the kitchen to inquire about ingredients and returned with an explanation. The spinach yogurt dip appetizer was delicious! And so was the bread that it was served with. The falafel seemed a bit under-seasoned, but it was fresh and crisp. Jordan had the chicken kabob with bulgur pilaf and he ate every bit of it. I had the Persian chicken stew made with pomegranate and walnut. I’m not accustomed to Persian or Turkish flavors so the first few bites were a little strange, but I found myself unable to put my fork down! We were too full for dessert, but next time I will try hard to save room! This meal goes down on my Top 10 Best Meals Ever list! And Jordan has definitely proven his ability to choose a good date restaurant!

The restaurant is beautiful. The lighting is great definitely worked with the ambiance. The details on the wall are a nice touch. The service here is impeccable. The best I have had in nj. Our water and wine glasses were never let empty. The timing of the dishes were perfect. Upon seating, we were given warm ciabatta bread with olive oil and olives. Yum! We started with the cold platter for 2: babaganoush, tabbouleh, cucumber yogurt, spinach yogurt, and eggplant salad. Everything was delicious. I lathered everything on my warm ciabatta bread. The basket was refilled without us even asking. For our entrees I had the adana kebab and my sister had the shrimp kebabs. The adana were 2 spicy lamb kebabs cooked perfectly. The side of rice that came with the meal was good. I tried the shrimp and they were big and plump. The flavor was great and they were skewered on an herb twig. We were too full for dessert but if you check in you get a free dessert with a dinner entrée purchase. The prices are a bit steep. But the ambiance, service and quality of the food are well worth it. They accepted our groupon with no problems. If you want to save a few bucks they have lunch specials from 11−3pm. Also it’s Byob so bring a bottle of wine but if you forget there is a liquor store right next door. The only problem is parking on palisade ave on a sat night is a pain. A great new local place. Check them out! I do hope they stick around.

Just visited… wow, very impressed! Despite the pictures, I still thought Levant would be very casual since all of the restaurants nearby give off that vibe. Well, imagine how embarrassed I was to show up in my workout gear. This is definitely a cute date night type of restaurant– it’s cozy and the service is attentive; staff is VERY friendly. No pretentiousness here. Everything about the restaurant is very charming. Even with the Groupon, they were so good to us. Food was also very tasty and it came out so quick! Mark my words: I’ll be back.

A solid mediterranean/turkish restaurant that opened two months prior. My friend had the lamb kabob and I had the falafel wrap. Both were quite good. The falafel had that nice crunch I enjoy. We also ordered fried calamari to pair with our byob Modello(hmm, Modello beer– oh yeah). Well fried. Even the warm bread with the special olive oil dip was tasty. Service was good. Prices are fair. It’s byob and there is a liquor store right next door. It’s new, ambiance is nice, and no complaints.
