ENGLEWOOD — After months of debate, the city council agreed to fund repairs for Mackay Park’s John T. Wright Arena with the hope of reopening the facility for the late 2013 – 2014 winter season.
The council voted 4 – 1 on Aug. 27 to approve a $ 960,000 bond ordinance to fund roof repairs, perimeter netting, flooring, dasher boards, steel painting below the arena’s ceiling and netting interior for the 30-​year-​old, decrepit facility.
