I was a little bit nervous after reading so many mediocre reviews, but I’m happy to report that this place was amazing! Excellent service, great haircut, and my son had a great time during his first haircut. I highly recommend Pumpkin and Bean!

The stylist there is very nice and I’ve never had an issue with her cutting my sons hair.
The owner however needs a personality check and FAST. She has no customer service skills what so ever and could care less if you walk into her store. She never smiles or greets you which makes me think this is more of a «hobby» for her. If it wasn’t for the hair stylist I would never step foot into their store.

I have never written a review on Unilocal before until now. The haircut my son received today was utterly horrible.
My dad took him for a haircut so he had no idea what to expect. My son was brought home with an uneven hairline at the nape of his neck and very roughly cut hair on top where you can see differences in length. And it looked dumb and dumber. Who cuts boy’s hair straight across in front!!!
After spending $ 30 on his haircut, I’d rather take him to an adult salon and spend a little extra for a good haircut.
Or do it for free myself.

Nice place, excellent stylist, but awful management. Been there three times with my kids, each time we go, we get dirty looks from this lady working on the register. Never said a kind a word to us, very rude. There is an older women who is very kind, but the not so older one is a complete d*ck. she acts like the owner, she maybe, but I know a lot of families in englewood and I will steer them clear of that place. Go to somewhere where someone appreciates your business, it’s funny though how she’s nicer to «certain» people. If you catch my drift…

Horrible customer service. Called for an appointment for the same day and when we got there the lady said we did not have one because we did confirm and gave our appointment to someone else. Definitely would not recommend unless they hire someone who understands customer service.

Hair stylist was great. Excellent cut and really good at dealing with kids. The cashier? Not so much. Cold, rude and obviously not fond of children. She turned a positive experience into a negative one right at the end. Talk about grasping defeat from the jaws of victory! I won’t be returning.

The lady who was in the salon was very rude. She was in the salon by herself on a saturday cutting hair while answering the phone. There was only one chair and was not very kid friendly. We ended up leaving and going to Ritas snips for pips in ridgewood and im so glad we did… Honestly was a blessing in disguise! I only gave a star bc no star isn’t an option.

Ok, took both my kids here for a haircut today and they were phenomenal. Compared to the previous place where I’ve been taking them, they were much more skilled. The girl cutting their hair was also very sweet to the kids and talked to them in a loving way. Will definitely come back here.

I’ve brought my daughter here three times for a haircut and we’ve always had a positive experience. The stylists are great with kids and the salon has all of the necessary bells and whistles to keep children entertained. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because we had to wait a few minutes for them to open when we were the 1st appt of the day on 2 occasions (arrived 10am and doors were locked, lights out. However, employees arrived and opened by 10:03am).

I was surprised to hear that there was negative comments about this salon. I have brought my kids here for haircuts for the past 4 years. We always have a great experience and more importantly excellent haircuts. Annie gives the best haircut.

A lot of boys and girls wear that’s not gender specific blue or pink with Euro options galore. I don’t know why others aren’t stepping up to review this more positively but perhaps pricing is a deterring factor as many items are priced with Euro standards. In any event this is well worth the stop in.

After reading the other reviews I was a little hesitant to take my two daughters here for a haircut, but it was the most convenient option. I’m glad I gave it a try. Annie gave my 5 yer old a lovely bob cut, and cleaned up my 2 year olds growing-​in hair nicely. The movie kept both girls entertained, they liked sitting in the car chairs and are still talking about the penguins and fairies that decorated their capes. Annie was pleasant, asked me what I wanted for their hair and gave good advice. The big drawback is that you do have to pay in cash for haircuts (though this isn’t anything that is illegal or fraudulent in and of itself, just inconvenient for someone like me that prefers to charge everything). Bottom line: every bit as good as Kidville or Cozy’s or someplace in the city, but Pumpkin & Bean have free parking in the lot!
