Sergio Auto Body

I found this Body Shop under the review of another Body Shop where a woman said she decided to give Sergio a try given his reasonable pricing.
I initiated the process to fix my Toyota Prius via a phone quote for 3 sections of my car which needed relatively minor body work and didn’t bring up two other sections that also needed work, but which I felt were hard to describe over the phone. The quote was for $ 800, which my father said «let me know how that works for you,» quite faciciously, when he heard the price (rude!).
So, when Sergio (a very nice and humble person) looked at the right front quarter panel, he informed me that while the previous body shop had indeed done a poor paint job, the body work was fine and all he needed to do was repaint it with original manufacturer’s paint. Given this, I asked if he would be willing to repaint the back bumper and stay within the quote, to which he immediately said, «no problem.»
The one remaining part to be fixed was the rear spoiler, which I though would be the most expensive part given I’d previously recieved quotes to repair it for about $ 600. We decided that we would both try to find a used part and discuss the repair at that point. After two days, neither of us could find a reasonably priced part and we left it with me agreeing to continue to call used parts places, with which I had no luck.
So, on the day I retrieved my car, I was expecting one of two outcomes w/​the spoiler.
1. Nothing had happened and I’d continue to try to find one.
2. He would have fixed it and add a few hundred dollars to the tab.
Fortunately for me, Sergio did a agreat job of mending the spoiler and reattaching it to the hatchback, so that it no longer rattles and appears to be a perfect fit.
So far, so good. Well, we get to the office for me to happily pay my bill and I look at the reciept and not only is there no extra charge for the spoiler, but the $ 800 quote was all inclusive, even though I hadn’t asked him if that included taxes.
Furthermore, there was no littany of additional micro-​charges that other body shops tack on ad nauseum.
So, I paid my bill and grabbed a handful of cards to give to friends and family, for when they might need an honest body shop guy in their lives… perhaps for the first time!
