Shoe Chic II

Lovely store window. Nice selection of shoes. But that’s about it!
I had a pair of satin shoes dyed black a few years after having bought them there and had them dyed red. Maya never expressed a single reservation or asked me any questions when she charged me $ 30 and told me dying the shoes would be no problem. Two days later she phoned me stating the dye didn’t take and that it was my fault for not having told her the shoes must have been scotch guarded, of which I had no recollection. She refused to refund the $ 30 I paid her to ruin the shoes and instead offered to allow me to buy another pair of shoes at half price, which is what I got stuck doing because I was attending a party.
As they are in the shoe business, I believe they should have known to test the shoes before applying the dye. And, as they are the ones who ruined the shoes, I think they should have taken responsibility and refunded the $ 30. Instead, Maya harped on how much money and time they spent applying coat upon coat of dye, before realizing it wasn’t working.
I will never go in there again!

I’m a sneakers girl myself, but my sister, the bride to be, has extremely elegant taste, especially in shoes. So when we walked in, I was skeptical any place might have what she wanted. We browsed the shelves & did our first loop around the store, no later did a staff member get every last detail she possibly could out of us in order to find the right shoe.
She was personable & kind, perhaps a bit pushy, but not necessarily in a bad way. She genuinely seemed interested in what my sister needed & wanted for her big day, and if she wasn’t sincere, she made a great sale. We came up big time with an beautiful pair, open toe with a hint of sparkle at the buckle and toe. They were on sale too.
My mother left with a pair as well, so if I need something special in the future I’d stop here & certainly recommend if you need to talk out what you need with a helpful staff.

If you need super fancy shoes, definitely try this place … I live in NYC and got my bridal shoe’s here because I couldn’t find a great store locally.
