IHOP

I was dining alone this visit. I arrived to an almost empty restaurant. At the hostess desk I was told it would be a few minutes to be seated. I stood and waited. After I was finally seated my waitress came and told me it would be a few minutes for her to take my order. I waited for quite some time. Finally, I ordered the French Toast combo. My food took a very long time and when it was delivered there was no French Toast. The waitress asked if she forgot something and I said the French Toast. I ate the rest of my breakfast and after I was finished I heard the waitress tell the cook she forgot to tell him to make my French Toast. At this point I just asked for my check and to not charge me for the French Toast. Evidently this, too, was going to take quite some time so I just left $ 10 on the counter and walked out. The manager came outside as I was leaving and told me she was going to discount my meal and I paid too much. I told her the rest was a tip and she wanted to argue about that, too. At this point I just wanted this experience to end and drove away.

So we were hungry for breakfast and Ennis was close by — so IHOP was the choice since you can get shell eggs instead of the Sysco egg carton mix.
Kendra seated us but the seats were dirty so I asked for dishcloth to clean them, she promptly left and got it and came back and wiped the seats down, apologizing profusely and asked if we needing anything else? I said, «no, thank you» and she said to «have a blessed day»!
Our waitress was friendly and took our order. We ordered two Spinach and a Fit and Trim Omelettes with shell eggs. They came within 10 minutes and were hot and fresh! She refilled our water glasses promptly, too. All in all it was a quick, delicious breakfast and a pleasant experience! Will come back!

The food was as expected, pretty good. The service was very friendly and the people were nice, but… the service was VERY SLOW. I stopped by to eat at about 8 pm and ordered standard pancakes with an egg… it took me a whole hour to order, eat, and pay! They do a lot right, but need to really speed everything up a lot.

As always, the Ennis IHOP never fails to disappoint. Rather than bore readers with a play-​by-​play, it suffices to say that our entire experience lasted nearly two hours, complete with slow but kind service, incorrect but well-​intentioned orders, cold but attractive food, and more slow but kind service.

Pretty clean bathrooms and nice waiters/​waitresses.
