The reality of Unilocal is this. Everyone thinks their opinion is imporatanter than everyone else’s unimportanted opinion. English mastery; proper punctuation, spelng, even sentence strukture goes owt the window! Do I know cheesesteaks? Nope. We grew up in Eastern North Caolina knowing a few things: pulled pork, seafood, and tourons from NJ can’t drive. Cheesesteaks weren’t amoung these things we called expertise. Milkshake was ok. Not terrible, not fantastic. Extra star for the largest milkshake straw I’ve ever seen. If I had a straw like that back in the 80s when I had a 10k/day coke habit, I wouldn’t be here today.(joke) Vegetarian cheesesteaks were good. Hot. Tasty greasey. Not sure they count as vegetarian. Cheezewhiz doesn’t even count as food. And as most reviews also said: staff was really really friendly. They were giving away free hugs so we got a six pack) of hugs(to go.

I was searching for a good sandwich on my way from Massachusetts to SC yesterday and almost missed this restaurant; it’s a little ways off the interstate, so I wouldn’t have known it existed if I hadn’t looked online in my search. I am so happy that I came in for dinner! Not only were the two guys who were working both extremely personable and helpful, the food was wonderful! I wish this place wasn’t so far from my house; I would love to stop in again if I’m in the area!

Incredible steak sandwich ! Great service! We are here from Texas working and I wish we had this place at home. The guys were very hospitable and informative. The prices are very reasonable. The ice cream looked delicious. I will be going back for more.

Love the chicken cheese steaks, fries, chicken salads with their homemade house dressing and the best their shakes made the old fashioned way from Hershey’s ice cream and milk. They are thick and tasty! The owner and staff are super friendly too.

We stopped by for dinner tonight. I ordered the steak and onion cheese steak, fries and a chocolate shake. My spouse got the black Russian sandwich, onion rings and chocolate shake. Both sandwiches were very good. The Russian would have been even better if it was served hot(I would ask for the next time). The onion rings and fries were ok(not bad but not outstanding). The shakes on the other hand were very, very good. There were two people working today. They seemed to communicate well and everything came out hot. Overall, a very good experience.

One of the best steaks sandwiches in the area. Great shake, very nice staff and the place is as clean as a whistle. Loved the fries too! Don’t know why it took me so long to try this place for the first time, but it won’t be my last. Can’t wait to go again… this place is a winner!

Absolutely“The Best Cheese Steak, I have ever had”… I am from South Philly, and My family and I think it’s better than Gino’s and Pat’s!.. And deffinetly better than any of the other Steak and cheese places in this area! Excellent prices, excellent Employees. And deffinetly puts the rest of the cheese steak places to shame. Great salads and wraps also!!! I wish they had beer and wings and beer. But I asked the owner, and he said it’s deffinetly in the works. Yaaayyy! Also, the bald guy is super funny! He should be a comedian. Thank GOD, there’s finally an awesome cheese steak restaraunt in our Area. Also, very helpful and polite staff.

The salad I had was good. My son got a burger and cheese fries. The cheese sauce was in a styrofoam cup that they had heated up in the microwave which melted the styrofoam and this was how it was served. I won’t go there again. I don’t care for styrofoam and cheese fries.

Was torn between 3 stars and 4, but went with the higher. Honestly, I prefer Philadelphia Steak and Hoagies on the Carlisle Pike. Better cheese steak, no extra charge for peppers and have hot cherry peppers to take. But, they are better then some like South Philly Hoagies(food preparers don’t wear gloves) and steaks are too soggie; Philly Hoagie house(rude service, flies, run down inside) or Shugars(used to be excellent when in Lemoyne but quality went down since moving to New Cumberland). I arrived around 7 pm and ordered. There was one couple waiting you had already placed their order and another person just in front of me with a to go order. My order was a cheese steak, fries and drink. Their special. Conservatively it took between 10 – 15 minutes for my food. With only 2 people working, they don’t seem to have a good system to turn out food. By comparison, at Philadelphia Steak and Hoagie, once you order it’s less than 3 minutes. As for the sandwich, it was ok. The roll of course is good but is the same Philadelphia roll that many places are using now such as Philadelphia Steaks, Philly Hoagie House, Shugars, etc. What bothered me was that the onions and peppers all seemed to be on one side of the cut sandwich. I didn’t really notice it while eating the 1st half but though there were a lot of hot peppers and not much meat. Then I realize that the whole other half was just meat??? Doesn’t the grill cook know to mix it all together? On the plus side, the fries were very good, but could have been a bit hotter. I think that they were under the warming light for a few minutes. I would probably try again as they have some variety to their menu and the shakes looked really good. However, I would not drive out of my way for them if I was closer to the Carlisle Pike. One final note to female working the counter: wearing gloves is great when working with the food but you need to take them off and change them when handling money. Defeats the purpose of wearing them.

While i was here on business, I was looking for a good place to eat. This had good reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. I wasn’t disappointed. It is worth the visit.

This is my new favorite place for cheesesteaks! The closest thing to an actual philly cheesesteak ive ever had. I’ve been going here on and off for about 2 months now and i never get anything but excellent food and service. Get a cheesesteak with wiz and you’ll be in heaven!

First of all, the service was excellent! We had trouble finding the place(drove right past it), we called and they gave us step-by-step directions to get to the location. When we walked through the door, they welcomed us and let us know they were glad we found it. They were very helpful during the ordering process, informing us of the specials instead of allowing us to pay more by buying these separately. The food was tasty and ingredients were fresh. If we visit the area again, we’ll definitely eat here. Oh and the kids loved their shakes!

*****Best Cheese Steak Around**** I have been riding 40 to 80 miles one-way for the past 30 years to get a great cheese steak. Well, I only have to ride 8 miles from now on. From the 1st bite you know it’s the«Real Deal». The service was friendly and helpful. The menu is not overwhelming like some steak houses/restaurants. It’s full of the«right» items not trying to please anyone but I bet they please everyone. The cooks mix and match the order to your specs. The high quality of ingredients is what hits you immediately. If you’re a Cheesesteak lover, don’t pass this place up!

I’ve been to all the cheesesteak places in the area. This one and the other location on Simpson Ferry, in my opinion, are the best.

First, let me say that my Fiancée and I are both originally from the Philly suburban area. For the last year-plus, we swore off cheese steaks as what we had found up here was absolute garbage on rolls that tasted like they were leftover from a batc of wonder white bread dough. I want to mention this because, while I totally disagree with the other reviews, I understand it. If you’re used to the garbage that passes for Philly style cheese steaks in this region and like it, this may not be the place for you. With that said, I was torn between 4 and five stars and wish I could give it a solid 4.5. This is not just the best cheese steaks(regular and chicken) that we’ve found in this area, but I would put it up against 90% of the steak shops in the Philly/Southern NJ region. Sure, there are a few shops down that way that have been doing this for generations that are better(hence the less than 5 star rating,) but this, by far, is the best experience in the region so far. I truly hope that this place makes a go of it. It’s certainly different from the norm here, but is exactly what it says, a «Philly Steak.»
