Imagine a place with phenomenal pizza and 100 craft beers on tap. Out in the middle of no where in Enola, Pa that place exists. Pizza Boy This will be the shortest review Ive ever written because I’ve already covered all the bases.

Amazing find here in Enola. We were just passing through and found this place. 102 beers on tap and great pizza. We came back the next day for lunch too before leaving town and took some beers to go. You won’t be disappointed!

Pizza is crazy good and the selection on beers could possibly change the course of history. I’m already looking forward to my next stop here. Staff very friendly!

What can I say. If you like to try a variety of beers, this is the place to go. Very crowded on weekends. But a great place to go.

One of PA’s hidden craft beer gems. A must visit if you like pizza and beer… especially good pizza and beer.

Pizza Boy is the brewing operation inside Al’s of Hampden. Same exact address, same interior space. There are two different Unilocal pages. Visiting Pizza Boy IS visiting Al’s of Hampden. Interior is cavernous, stainless steel and white. A larger than expected brewing system is exposed to the dining hall. A massive bar on the opposite side points to multiple LCD screens of a mega 50 or so tap list with a good 10 or so Pizza Boy house beer concoctions. Not on tap, but in 750mL bottles to drink on premise, are some of Pizza Boy’s special release sours. Beer quality here is very high from rockstar brewer Terry Hawbaker. Sours and Brett saisons seem to be the strong suit here along with some amazing coffee imperial stouts like Sunny Side Up. Service was good. Place was packed. Per PA state law you cannot have more than a certain number of beer glasses on your table at once. We went wild on the tap list(multiple tasting samples per person) and the bartender obliged. Welp, we went over the limit so some of our pours had to be hidden away for legal reasons and then brought back to us once other beers were finished. Love this state. Pizza we thought was in the good range along with the sandwiches. The food menu certainly leaves something to be desired especially if you are watching calories. Overall, a secluded venue… but world-class beer makes up for it.

I’ve had several people tell me I need to stop at Pizza Boy Brewing Company. I mean, of course. It’s a brewery. And this brewery is counterpart to Al’s of Hampden, a pizza joint — hence the genius name. I expected a small local pizzeria with a few original beers on tap. I was not prepared to have those expectations shattered in such a dramatic way. I approached a small door in a large building found in what otherwise looks like an office park. The huge round logo(a combination of half a pizza and half a can pop top) told me this was the place. I entered through the double doors and just… stopped. To my left I immediately saw the brewing equipment. To my right was a huge warehouse space filled with tables. Beyond the tables was a bar. And behind that bar a plethora of taps. And above those taps were several screens listing all the available beers. Pizza Boy Brewing offers around 100 beers, all craft beers and mostly local. I think I counted 30 or so of their own. This was supposed to be one stop during my week long vacation. I could easily spend a whole week just here. I arrived around 3pm when there weren’t many other patrons.(I can only imagine how loud that place gets when it’s packed.) I took a seat at the bar and stared at all my options with awe. I started off with a Smoked Porter which I really liked. from there I went with the Crucial BBQ, a very refreshing lemon pepper saison. At this point I had a taste for a slice so I ordered a slice of cheese pizza and paired it with a pale ale called Pizza Chaser. Since I was on a road trip, I just went with smaller 8 ounce pours and sadly stayed away from some of the higher ABV choices. They also offer full drafts, 32 ounce crowlers and 64 ounce growler sales. Tip for new visitors: order by the tap number not the name of the beer or brewery. I made that rookie mistake. I keep thinking about Pizza Boy and despite my carefully planned adventure for the rest of my week I’m trying to figure out how I can make it back. The only complaint I have is that despite their wide selection they do not offer flights or samples which is the only reason for the one star deduction in my rating.
