It’s a great location to go enjoy this historic mill and the beautiful flora and fauna that surrounds this beautiful location. Simply put, its peacefully isolated. It has an accessible mill house to explore the manner these mills were laid out. its built on a beautiful ledge next to the falls where you get to see the cascading waterfall empty into the Chunky River. You’ll know your in the wild by simply listening to the sounds of birds and rustling trees above. The park some short nature trails that are long enough to wind through the woods where its home to birds of the region, including wild turkey, squirrels, and deer. You’re more likely to run into these jittery critters here than the parks closer to the city because if it weren’t for this mill, there would be nothing but nature and a beautiful clear river running through this area. You can swim, fish, and even canoe in this stretch of river. Up on the edge there’s some picnic tables and grills for having a beautiful family outing. It is certainly quiet out here and for those that truly want to get away!
