Great meats, the taste is much richer and flavorful than any store meat you can buy, their pepperoni, smoked sausages and jerky is great also. They also have a smoked cheese that is locally made and is by far the best smoked cheese I have ever tasted, bit $ but well worth it for the quality of cheese. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. It’s out of the way in Enumclaw but the drive is nice and you can always drive a little further and stop by the kettle restaurant and have breakfast or lunch they have great breakfasts and phenomenal freshly made muffins.

Bought about $ 70 worth of meat and everything was delicious. We bought smoked salmon, havarti cheese, kalbi short ribs, pork chops, garlic sausage and a sweeter breakfast sausage I can’t remember the name. They let us sample one of their smoked sausages that was also very tasty. Small little shop but a bunch of customers. There were nice and even let me pick out from a bunch of smoked salmon packages. The one thing I want to definitely buy again are the pork chops, just warm them up on the grill and perfectly tender and full of flavor.

My bias: Every Sunday for the past 2 years, I got meat at Meat The Live Butcher in West Seattle. When we moved to Kent two months ago, I was eager to make a connection with the local butcher, and expecting that level of service, product, etc. I do appreciate that Olson’s does their own butchering in the back, although we don’t raise farm animals so I’ll likely never take advantage of that service. And they offer some local beef and chicken(at least, the gal said it was local), fresh. However, almost everything was frozen, and not clearly advertised, so I repeatedly had to ask what they had available for purchase. There’s quite a selection(presumably) if you ask the right questions… but it makes it difficult to peruse what they have and plan a meal from there. The pricing is very confusing(they advertise bundles of basically half a cow or pig much more than, say, getting a pound of roast), which made it difficult for me to determine what kind of quality we were getting. The bacon was disappointing(thus far, no one can compare to Meat in West Seattle in terms of bacon) but not as bad as store-bought(or Lind’s). I didn’t have any issues with bones in our ground beef, nor with the quality of the meat we purchased. When I was finally able to make a price comparison, Olson’s was more expensive than our previous butcher, but not exorbitantly so. I’d definitely support them over a grocery store chain, but we’re still searching for a better option.

A friend and I stopped in here to grab a few steaks. We picked up two T-Bone steaks and they were the best I ever had. I’ll be going back for sure and highly recommend these folks for steaks.

This place kicks butt! It is in the middle of nowhere, so I expected it to be either run-down or dirty, but was shocked upon entering. This place is really nice! The meat and seafood selection is awesome. I tried the following from there, and all were awesome: Beef Jerky Fillet Mignon King Crab Legs and Claws Indian Chili Spice Kit This place is really great, and everyone working there was incredibly nice. The facility is WAY cleaner than any meat shop I’ve been to… it looked spotless!

This old fashion butcher shop has fresh local grass fed at a reasonable price. Service is outstanding. Everyone in the shop has a smile and a hello when you walk in. They custom cut and wrapped my order of 1.5lb flat iron steak and ground the 5lbs of grass fed beef while I waited. The shop is full of specialty sauces and rubs to set you up for a great BBQ night. If I could increase the stars I would. The setting of the shop is amazing with views is Mt. Rainer and farms by far the BEST Butcher shop worth the drive down 164.

RUN! Butcher elsewhere!!! This place is a dishonest company. They may sell decent cuts of meats on display in their cases BUT their butchering practices are down right thievery! My parents brought a cow they purchases here to be butchered, they had mostly ground beef cuts. They had so much Ground BONE in their meat it was almost un-eatable. My mom sat and had to pick out bone everytime she cooked a pound of hamburger. Even then, there were so many fine bits that you had to spit out chunks of bone the whole time you ate. Not to mention, the fear of breaking your teeth! There are TWO reasons a butcher does this #1. Laziness(not likely) #2. To STEAL from you and skim your meat. They add bone into the hamburger grinder to weigh it down and add weight back into your numbers. Even with this, their yield rate(the amount of meat they ended with) was terrible. Terrible! They should be ashamed! Oh, I also seriously question whether they are selling corn fed beef as grass-fed!!! Ask where they get it from– research the company they claim and you’ll see that company only processes corn-fed beef! They LIE too!
