The Art of Recycle is one of our favorite places to go locally. It has a warm and safe atmosphere. The shop and staff encourage people to think out side of the box and use imagination to create. My children and I love the staff/volunteers who are very friendly and helpful. There is no way to fully describe it… You must stop in and see for yourself!

I brought my teenage daughter and her friend to the«Anything Art Whimsyday’s» meetup. We all enjoy knitting and were looking forward to meeting new people and crafting. After reading the description of the meetup, where it stated to bring a snack I decided to bring some donuts. When we arrived, Chelas looked at us and said«Is it 6:00?» I said, «No, we are a few minutes early. Is that alright?» She said, «Yes, that’s okay.» Then I said, «We brought donuts.» She replied, «That’s NOT okay.» We stayed for a few minutes and then decided to leave after feeling like we were outsiders. Chelas, the organizer, made no attempt to make us feel welcome at this«Community Art Center». Don’t worry, we took our donuts and had a lovely time knitting at our favorite bookstore.

This place really is magical, and I have told so many people about it since moving to the area and visiting for the first time. I took my daughter here, and we had a great time making a craft for FREE, and exploring the thrifty craft store, which is fun to visit, and wonderfully organized! She loved the puppet theater made with real tree bark, and my favorite was the wishing tree, where you can put in a wish, and a local artist creates a piece of art around it-amazing, right? We need more places like this in the community. Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers who keep this place going. It is a gem!
