Excellent food at a very reasonable price! The staff was very friendly especially our server thanks for the great experience!

Ate breakfast there today. Service good had to ask for cream for coffee? Get a pitcher of coffee, thumbs up. Had their special poached eggs, avocado and tomato side of home fries. Acceptable. Silverware had lettuce baked on it from dishwasher. Waitress had dirty shirt, but friendly. Both wife and I experienced unpleasant side effects throughout the day, so something was awry. Had homefries in common? If you are in the area go to PANCAKEHOUSE which is right around corner. Great breakfast only, and CASHONLY but no side effects!

Now re-opened as Gus’s Keystone Diner. Menu slightly changed from before the change(or so I’m told). Regular stop for breakfast, love the French toast. Since changeover, they’ve changed from a small pitcher of syrup on the table to little pre-packaged cups of syrup. Always have to ask for more as they don’t hold much. Good omelets, but the country fried steak is inconsistent. One time good, one time undercooked, next time a charred hockey puck… don’t know why the trouble with a standard(for around here) breakfast item. Lunchtime usually finds me with a burger, which I enjoy, upcharge if you want fries instead of potato chips… BLT sandwich enjoyable, haven’t really branched out to try other sandwiches. Overall, a nice diner at the edge of the Ephrata/Akron borough on Rothsville Road, behind the Wendy’s fast food joint, which is the corner of 272 and Rothsville Road.

I love ephrata diner. This is my go to place when there is 30+ minute wait at Applebee’s. My neighbor works here and honestly the service at ephrata diner is great. Food is great. Their menu is big enough to find something you like. Prices are good.

Stopped in a few weeks ago for a Saturday night dinner without breaking the«bank». My ½ chicken dinner did just that. It was filling. The young server was ok, but I felt she was rushing me and there was a lot of empty tables, thus being close to 8PM. Now, here is why I only gave this diner 3 stars… Terrible rice pudding, no salad bar, and the décor is crying out for a major renovation. This is just falling on deaf ears… for many many years.

Our second time here.(i don’t recall the first time, but my wife said so.) Busy morning, with quick turn over which I was glad to see. Nothing irks me more than people just sitting there yapping at a table after their meal when there’s a line. Our waitress«Miss Little», was quick and efficient. Breakfast menu was numerous. I chose the«Ephrata Special». Too much food for me. But delicious. The prices were fair vs. portion size. Reading others reviews, I don’t recall seeing or smelling cigarette smoke. So I don’t know what that’s about. And they have nice looking cakes & pies for sale too.

This place is awful. It’s dirty, the food is never good. always seems old or undercooked. The waitress we had was on drugs. She kept wiping her nose while serving food and moving her jaw. The table across from us returned a salad for«an unknown reason.» It’s one of the only late night places open. you are honestly better off eating a frozen pizza and calling it a night.

I was in the area one early Monday morning to test drive a car at a dealership around the corner from this diner. So I simply decided to have breakfast there. First impression was that it was located in a busy intersection with ample parking. Walked in and it had the standard diner«feel» to it. I was immediately greeted and asked if I wanted to be seated at the counter, table, or booth. I chose a booth directly below a big flat screen TV. I was promptly given a menu and I want to emphasize the fact that the menu wasn’t overwhelming. You know how some diners have menus that go on for pages and pages? This wasn’t like that. After a quick review, I simply ordered a cup of tea with milk and the Ephrata Diner omelette. The waitress came back with the tea and milk on the side. But curiously she also brought an extra glass bottle of hot water so I can refill myself. I’ve never had that before. The omelette(with home fries and toast) was delivered shortly thereafter. It was quite good. I like the fact that A1 steak sauce was available as a condiment. Waitress was very polite and there was no rush to get me out of there. I love listening to the banter among the elderly locals. I’m going back to the dealership next weekend to pick up my «new» car and I’ll stop by again to have breakfast. Why mess with a good thing?

The address is wrong: this place is not in Akron, PA it is in Ephrata, PA on Rothsville Road. I had a philly cheesesteak omelette. It was the best omelette I think I have ever had in my life. My dad had a bite and was jealous. Dad’s italian sausage n veggie omelette was good but mine was superb. Mom’s stuffed french toast with blueberries was also enviable but I was mighty happy with my selection. The waitress gave us a carafe of coffee so we were never empty in the cup area. Awesome service, awesome food. The aesthetics are just ehhh but you’re not really there to gaze at the fine décor of tacky fake plants. I loved the counter area with the spinning stools. I felt like this place had a great family vibe. Mostly I want to return to get another Philly cheesesteak omelette.

I go here for breakfast, lunch, or an occasional late fare. The food is always good and the servers are very pleasant but it’s a diner. The prices are reasonable and the place is always clean, never any complaints.

This is a nice place for lunch. My wife and I stopped here while travelling through the area. Food was very good, service was fast and the staff is very friendly. The diner is located in a very touristy area in the Amish country so it was nice to find a non chain, non fast food type of place to have real food! Prices are quite reasonable as well.

The restaurant always smells like cigarretes because they have a smoking section which makes the place a little hard for kids. The waitresses are really nice but I’ve gotten the food under or over cooked a lot. Sometimes the food tastes great and sometimes it is not so good.
