Food was terrible. Had steak fajitas, and the steak was extremely over cooked. Drinks were weak, and watered down tasting. Definitely won’t be going back there.

Simply put — I love Joe! He’s an awesome bartender/manager/person! I just moved back to New England and he is truly a breath of fresh air — when ya work in Mass! LOL — I wish I could live there — he’s jovial, real and fun — I hate Mass and am thankful I live in NH not too far to visit him for great food/drinks/entertainment!

Great layout and décor. The staff tries hard and for the 10+ times we have been here they were good! The food on the other hand needs a lot of work. We only go for the drinks! The pizza place next door has better guacamole and apps. If the folks that mange this place went to Agave, La Correta or Vida Cantina and sampled their food they would quickly realize they are way outclassed. Most dishes are very salty, mushy and not fresh. The chili rellenos must be made by the tray and reheated — worst I have ever had. The chimi’s are covered in so much sauce, cheese, lettuce and sour cream it turns to mush. Who wants a deep fried non-crispy chimi?(gross) Recommendations: — Make your quac to order /FRESH — Visit other places to get ideas — Wayyyy less salt on everything! — Overcooked beef/chicken — take a cooking class or just cook it less — Play some mexican music through your speaker system Great location, plenty of parking and the prices are just ok! Wish I had better things to say but we will be back(for drinks) :-(

I give 2 stars over 1 as the service was attentive(albeit they were not busy) and the drinks were decent. The food was not so good though. I tried the crab enchiladas. The filling was ok, the«spicy» cheese sauce was bland and tasted like cheese wiz. The rice tasted like tomato paste and the beans were very hard and undercooked. Wife’s burrito had slightly more flavor, but this food was nothing close to Mexican; not even remotely Spanish. Go for the drinks, but leave when u get hungry.

I will never go back. Ever. Don’t waste your money. Food was all premade processed food. Half of it was cold. The«good» food was barely edible the«bad» food was not even edible. The service was fast and friendly. I feel bad for the people who work here because they probably don’t receive decent tips because of the horrible food. Hands down the worst food I’ve had in a very long time.

So we came back after having stayed away for over a year. Unfortunately the same blah results were to be found and the experience reminiscent of our last. Unilocal says it’s open until 10, we arrived at 8 and there was a handwritten sign that they were open until 9. When we walked in there were a couple of people in the bar area, and no one in the restaurant. We stood at the empty hostess stand for 3 – 5 minutes and there was no staff in the place. Eventually a guy came out and seated us. The waitress was friendly enough but there was no one else in the place we should have seen her more then twice. It was awkward to get chip refills and soda refills. The chips were unsalted store bought chips with no flavor, the salsa was weak. The cheesy dip we got was good but not heated all the way through, and there was an awkward melted/re solidified mass at the top. My fajitas were ok, the shrimp was delicious but the steak has that weird taster from before and was very well done. Refried beans were an afterthought and were canned with some chopped onion in them. They had a brown hard crust all over them. My wife’s enchiladas were marginal at best, but not awful. The rice was also prepackaged. We won’t be back, they just can’t execute like they should be able to.

Eat in = 3 ½ Stars, Take Out = ZERO!!! The food and service are good here — as long as you eat in the restaurant! Forget about ordering for takeout! We had a horrible experience with their takeout right after they first opened but decided to try it again tonight since we’ve had such good food and service when we’ve eaten at the restaurant. Once again, though, the quality of their food was absolutely destroyed by the way they«pack» it to go! They use the absolutely flimsiest aluminium containers and bags so that the food no matter how carefully the bag gets carried gets flipped around. To top it all off they put two orders of flan complete with«caramel sauce» in a white«clam shell» type box which leaked all over the thin bag and onto my car seat and, of course, me! They could have at least put the flan and sauce into one of the aluminum container which has a cover that gets crimped to prevent leaks!!! To summarize, If they just put the meals in the sturdier clam shell style box and the flan in the albeit flimsy aluminum container with a cover that crimps, the food would probably survive better! As it is, once again, we ended up spending over $ 40 on a cold mess!

Okay so the location is really convenient to my house and the atmosphere is on point. Very relaxing with some culture. The service was okay, the waiter seemed young and inexperienced. I completely agree with the menu being lackluster, nothing stood out to me as looking original and everything was very basic. Took us a while to choose a meal. The drink selection was pretty great. We chose one of the bucket drinks and was told it was for two however it wasnt as big as what we were expecting and felt kind of silly trying to share it. Pricing was a little high for the experience. The chimichangas were pretty great overall though!

Been here 3 times and every time is worse then the last! I’m done… The food is not at all creative and at times lacks flavor. For example, when I ordered the steak fajitas it came with only a few vegetables and guacamole which was so loaded with lime that it was uneducable. When asked if it was made today(because usually lime in guacamole is used as a preservative) the waitress responded angrily«yes, I made it myself!». This was a funny statement because on my 2nd visit the wait staff informed me that it was in fact not made on site but purchased and made elsewhere. Not wanting confrontation I decided to not bring up this point and let it go. The damage however was already done, as the waitress decided to stay clear of my table for the rest of my meal, only coming to bring the bill. If you want fresh food, quality Mexican there are far better places then here.

It’s really more 2.5 — 2.7 star rating but having just moved from Texas, I can’t really bring myself to give it a solid 3 star rating despite the fact that we’ll go here again and it will probably make its way into our regular rotation. The service is friendly but average. In the few times we’ve been there there has always been one«little» mistake… from forgetting to give us chips & salsa, to forgetting an order request, to bringing something wrong. Nothing that wasn’t fixed, but the consistency is that the training is probably sub-par even though the servers are nice folks. The food is ok. It’s not Texas, it’s New Hampshire. It’d be like lobster in Texas… similar but off. But it’s not bad either, and it hits the spot when the Tex-Mex urge occurs. It’s also a good place to go when the lines at Kume or 900 are long since there’s never a wait.

I would have given this place a 4 star review, but based on my most recent visit, I had to settle for a 3 star. That’s not to say that things might not improve in the future. There is potential here. I wont get into the details of my most recent visit on Unilocal, because the situation was immediately rectified, I enjoyed my meal and all was well afterwards. Kudos to the staff!

The restaurant was mostly empty on a Sunday early evening. We were told to sit anywhere, which we did for ten minutes with no menu. When I went to ask the hostess for service, we waited another ten minutes for the menu. After we finally ordered, the salsa that came tasted straight out of the can. We ordered guacamole which tasted of garlic powder and salt. Then we waited and waited for our food until I gave up and asked for the check for what we had had. The waitress said that she was sorry I didn’t want to wait for my food. Well, I’ve been a waitress at a few restaurants and I can tell you that this whole experience is unacceptable and I would never go there again. I’d rather go hungry.

Went with family on sunday night around 7:30. I didnt expect it to be packed but it was suprisingly dead, only a few other patrons from what i could see. When we walked in we werent sure if we were supposed to seat ourselves because the host was nowhere to be seen for a bit. We almost considered leaving as there are other interesting places in the plaza we could have tried instead but just then he came rushing from the kitchen area and showed us to some seats. Off to a rocky start but as i walk through i notice the place seems pretty new, very nice décor inside especially for a mexican place so my hopes remain high. Once seated the host explained that the waitress is probably on her way and he offered to get us drinks in the meantime. Weird but ok. Between 4 of us we ordered 2 sodas and 2 margaritas. He left and took about 5 minutes to come back. Saw no employees in meantime. He says the waitress will be there soon and sure enough she comes, albeit another 5 – 10 minute wait. Both host and waitress seem inexperienced, they acted like they werent sure what they were doing. Ordered chips and salsa while we waited. Salsa tasted good but was way too mild. Hardly a hint of spice. Margaritas were ok. The food comes out in 30 – 40 mins and all of it except for the fajita fillings(also got chimis, quesadillas, enchiladas) seemed like it had been ready and sitting for quite some time. My enchiladas were mediocre, and the beans and rice werent that great or even that warm. Everyone said theirs was much the same except for the fajitas, prob the best part of the meal. All in all NOT a superb experience. The place seemed far too understaffed(somewhat certain the host was also a busboy, waiter and bartender that night) and the food wasnt woth what we paid. Ive had better everything at margaritas, which was previously what i considered the low end on mexican food spectrum. This place takes its spot as the lowest and i will not likely return. I can only hope the place isnt always like that as it showed some real potential at first.

The worst mexican food in the area. Went on a Thursday night and there was literally no one else in the restaurant. Ordered nachos and paid $ 10.00 for some microwaved chips with cheese and olives. Then when we asked for guac and sour cream we got charged extra. It really was just terrible and overpriced save your time and money don’t go

I came here for dinner as recommended by an acquaintance. The vibe is decent at this restaurant. It’s in a convenient location to grocery stores and other shops in the plaza. The service at this restaurant was very good but you’ll notice that the place feels incredibly overstaffed while there aren’t a lot of customers. When it came to the menu, everything appeared to be very basic. It took us ten minutes to order our dinner because none of the items stood out. Our food came out very quick. But it really tasted like something I could’ve made in my own home with limited culinary skills. I don’t like leaving poor reviews for places that didn’t treat us poorly but our dinner came out to $ 30 for two people, I could’ve just gone to the Market Basket and grabbed frozen burritos that would have probably been better than what we had.

The food is amazing, as a fan of guacamole, they meet all my needs. The fact that avail is basically in half of their menu is great. The atmosphere is great, and the drinks are usually quickly made. The one thing I must say that’s negative is that depending on your server, it can either take minutes to get your food, or half and half or more.

Really enjoyed the atmosphere, I always love Mexican restaurants. I thought the chips and salsa were very good. My margarita was also very good. A little on the sweet side but I like that. And the white wine sangria that my friend had was fantastic. My complaints were that the service was a little slow, and the food was very small portions and not very good. We ordered chimichangas and enchilladas to share. We always go to Margaritas and this is plenty for us to share… But at this place was really not enough. Over $ 10 a plate for two tiny enchilladas… Not really impressed by that.

Awful. «Award winning nachos» — What award would this be? «Most like nachos I make in my microwave?» Stale chips, crappy, ketchupy salsa, canned jalapeño slices, plastic cheese… The server kept touching me and calling me «hun». Not appropriate. The coconut margarita sounded good, it ended up the best part of the whole experience, and even then it was mediocre. Puerco Verde Burrito — Why do you put rice and beans inside a burrito, and then serve it on a plate with MORE rice and beans? There was very little pork and the whole thing just tasted weird. Not impressed. Never again.

Tortilla Flat is a nicely appointed Mexican-style café located in the Market Basket plaza. Inside the décor is bright, modern, and inviting. Our server was pleasant but seemed a little lost. The food, as most restaurants in NH trying to cater to their Caucasian patrons serve is less than exciting. There was nothing on the menu that is different which is surprising because opening a new restaurant offers so much opportunity to be creative. Reading some of the lackluster reviews of the food here points to this restaurant’s problem: the food is under seasoned and horribly bland. Not all Mexican food needs to be on fire; however, flavor is key and it was missing in my dish. Another serious issue is their salsa. Good grief, can someone in NH please make a tasty and spicy salsa! The salsa served with the chips tasted like ketchup with positively no fresh chilies. And when I asked the server if they had anything hotter her response was that no they didn’t have anything hotter but she should could bring me some«hot sauce.» She then went on to explain that the hot sauce was«hot» so I should be cautious. Ahh, thanks for the warning doll but I eat sauce as a hobby. What she ended up brining me was Valencia hot sauce which is a brand you can find in any grocery store and it’s not that hot. What was funny was the amount she brought me: a thimble full. If I were to guess it would be that this restaurant was opened by those not really versed in Mexican cuisine. The menu is a carbon copy of Margarita’s which is just a white-washed version of what Mexican food can and should be. If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food prepared by Mexican cooks, head on over to El Rincon Zacatecano Taqueria in Manchester. Trust.
