Cloud 9 Wine Bar

Terrible service. 6 o’clock reservation, but still waiting for a table at 6:20. Made reservations more than a week in advance to have a nice dinner before a show. Added much stress to what was suppose to be a fun night.

The calamari was absolutely out of this world especially for being this far inland. The margarita pizza was delicious as well. The artisan cheese plate very nicely presented and tasted delicious with the fresh bread and some sort of fig spread. The lobster poutine while delicious could have used a little more curds and lobster. Great experience. Will be back again.

We are fairly new to Erie, and Cloud 9 has easily become one of our favorite places. We dined in mid January, and already can’t wait to come back! Not only is the food out of this world, but the staff is really amazing. We started off getting a couple drinks at the bar where we were served by the girl bartender. (Unfortunately I didn’t catch her name) She had plenty of recommendations for us, was super friendly, and really made us feel welcomed and taken care of. We then decided we would get a table and sit down for dinner. Our server was Luis, and he was just awesome! It was our first time there, so he actually went over every single dish on the menu. He was highly enthusiastic about all of his favorites which made us excited to try them, and we’re glad we did! (The risotto was amazing!!!) He was a very friendly, down to earth waiter who you can tell is just a super nice guy who is also a very hard worker. He checked on us frequently and really made our experience very enjoyable. It’s hard to find places where the food and atmosphere are both enjoyable, but it seems like both of those things comes naturally in Cloud 9. It really is such an awesome place, and we can’t wait to come back!

Dropped in for a quick lunch, and found out they have WINE ON TAP! The barkeep was a blast to chat with, as was the Wine Manager. Found out the Barkeep and I both spent a lot of time in Savannah. Had some fabulous Malbecs, Argentinian, and French.(SOLs) The food was good, but who cares, WINE BAR! There is a hotel within staggering distance.

First time visit and must say I was impressed. Great service and friendly staff made us feel welcome. I would have given 5 stars but I was disappointed in my king cut of prime rib. I found it to be tough, salty and to smokey. However I will return as there are several menu items I want to try. Cloud 9 may just be my new favorite place to dine in downtown Erie.

Delightful atmosphere and food! Oh, and wine! I have never been disappointed. A must-​have when I visit my hometown.

We called Bertrands to make a reservation for the brunch buffet. We have never been there but they were booked. They recommended we come here. The Mahi on the buffet was amazing, but everything else was mediocre at best. At $ 20/​person I was far from impressed. We checked out the wine menu and will return to try it another day, but if you are looking for a brunch buffet to take the place of the Pufferbelly this is NOT it. The staff was friendly and prompt.

We visited the aptly named Cloud Nine for the first time for a (much-​needed) date night. We explained to the server that sat us on our way in that we have two kids under 5yrs and never get out; she sat as at a semi-​private table with a view and promptly proceeded with our drink order.
In addition to an expansive wine and beer menu, Cloud Nine offers several creative cocktails and some awesome happy hour deals. We proceeded to take advantage of both and were not disappointed.
The shared plates were fresh and delicious, featuring such items as clams in white sauce or garlic wine sauce, walnut crusted Brie and authentic poutine (4 different options). Everything was served hot and in a timely manner.
The wait staff was courteous and the atmosphere comfortable and inviting. It hasn’t been crowded either time we’ve gone (surprisingly) but there have been enough people to keep things feeling lively.
All in all, a hidden gem — would highly recommend to anyone living in or visiting Erie, PA!

You don’t’ get a second chance to make a first impression. The place is cute inside and they have a great idea, maybe we just picked the wrong night, The bar was full and one bartender, which would be fine except for the fact that every red wine they serve they have to use a decanter which takes a few minutes. We also overheard the bartender say she was «sick» so I am sure that didn’t help either. But no warm welcome from her just «give me a minute.»
The manager Ken was outstanding, as soon as he realized the bar was «in the weeds» he jumped back and helped her get caught up. He was also running drinks, food and clearing and seating tables. The service was okay at best, but the server didn’t really seem to know the specials. The New York pizza was very good, but the shrimp tacos were dry and not much flavor. If you order the bag of bread with your wine that is exactly what you get, no butter no oil just a bag of bread. The server was going to find out about the dessert and let us know but she forgot. I will say she was good at helping clear and re set tables. Maybe just understaffed, but not the best experience.

Terrible service! Our table was ignored for the table of older couples next to us and we had to flag the waiter down anytime we wanted something. Our order was messed up multiple times and the mistakes were given to the older ppl next to us for free and then they tried to charge us for their mistakes. The tuna nachos were inedible as they were entirely too salty. I was very disappointed by this place and will not be returning and will not recommend it to anyone under the age of 50.

I really enjoy the vibe in Cloud 9 wine bar. They have good service, a great wine selection, and decent food. I usually opt for some light fare like caprese salad or charcuterie, but my friends have gotten larger meals here. Everyone seems to be pretty pleased with the food. The only complaint I’ve ever heard was that the sauce with the falafel balls was watery and tasteless. Still, we are here for the wine.
They have one of my favorite wines ever: Vouvray, which is a slightly sweet, smooth white wine. I’d say it tastes like a mixture between a sweet riesling and a sauvignon blanc. I rarely see it on menus so I always order it when I’m here.
We usually sit out on the patio because we have large groups (10 – 14) when we visit and it’s very welcoming. The owner is fantastic and always takes care of our large party.
Stop on in after work or on a weekend with friends for a relaxing evening!

We were in Erie, PA for a family event and were looking for a nice place to have dinner on the 1^st night. We were a larger party of 6 so Mom called and made a reservation.
When we arrived, they had no record of our reservation. Now, this could’ve gone very badly, but the management did everything right. They found us a large table to sit at, however it had a structural issue that caused it to wobble and this issue was not solved by putting sugar packets under the table leg. They found us a smaller table to sit at near a table that was closing out that they eventually combined to make one big table. While we were waiting, they comp’d a round of drinks.
We started with multiple small plates. We had duck poutine AND two different kinds of duck wings. The poutine was so amazingly good! And if you are not the duck fans that my family obviously is, they had traditional. BBQ, and shrimp to choose from. Just do yourself a favor and get the pountine. You will thank me later. Mom and I had softshell crab po-​boys that were very tasty! They also serve Smith’s hot dogs and if you do not know Smiths then I feel very sorry for you.
Overall the family had a great time. The missteps that could’ve derailed our evening were taken care of and we plan on going back the nest time we are in Erie.

Only in Erie for one night checking out the area. Cloud 9 was a great place to get some good food and try some wine. We had the charcuterie and tuna nachos for appetizers and the veggie pizza and oyster po’ boy; all to share. It was all delicious! They sat us in the back room which was a little cramped but not terrible.
This place seemed to cater to a wealthier crown in Erie but it was much better than I expected while walking through the neighborhood to get there. Well done Cloud 9.
My boyfriend really enjoyed the napkins and we took half the pizza to-​go and it later rocked his world as a late night snack.

My absolute favorite wine bar! Thanks to them I’m addicted to the Derby Red! Met Luanne and she was so sweet and made us feel so welcome. Me and my girlfriends will always be around! We have our cloud 9 cards

Found this place on the internet Unilocal or google reviews driving through Erie, Pa.
We got three things. Parking was easy on a Sunday night.
Shrimp Poutine: Cheddar cheese sauce made the dish good. I enjoyed this dish.
Peach tree Salad: the salad dressing was good, the salad was dry on top and the dressing went to the bottom. Make sure to mix it up.
Fish Tacos: mahi mahi. This was a good dish.
Overall Impression:
The silverware and plates were nice. They were unique. The food was also very good. One of the best parts is that the Bicentennial Tower is nearby and since it was the first Sunday of the month, it was free. Enjoyed a tasty dinner, then went to the tower and watched the sunset with my girlfriend. Very romantic.

Great place to eat right next to the baseball stadium. Great atmosphere.
In all honesty I’m from Pittsburgh and went to Erie to be at the beach. We found the place and the people were instantly attentive and helpful.
The menu was astoundingly diverse. Shark tacos, brick oven pizzas. I had the lamb burger and it was so tasty.
The prices were pretty cheap in all honesty with beer and entrees me and my gf spend 31 bucks plus tip. Which from Pittsburgh is about right so it was very inexpensive.

We ate at your restaurant for the first time last night. The food was excellent!
Your setting is so beautiful– just perfect for a birthday celebration. We loved all the appetizers and wine selections. Also the service was fantastic — AJ was the best! Thanks for making our night fantastic!

Was in Erie for an event at the Warner Theater and was happy to see that there was a wine bar close by. Though it is a wine bar, they have a full service bar and a decent selection of craft beer. I really liked the fact that there was a lot of local flavor in many of their beer, wine and liquor choices they serve.
Really nice décor inside, very modern, clean, classy but not stuffy at all. It is a fairly casual place. The venue has both indoor seating and outdoor seating. Plenty of seating inside around the bar and many tables as well. You are able to make reservations at the tables and at the bar. They also have a menu of specialty cocktails, many of which feature locally made liquors. I saw plenty of Wigle Whiskey from Pittsburgh on the menu.
The wine menu is set-​up really nicely. The wines are grouped by like style or varietal. Each wine on the menu comes with a small description describing the wine. Even though I deem myself to be a ‘wine person’, I really like this approach as it allows each guest to make a selection based on their taste preferences. Another great feature is the ability to buy wine in a 2 ounce sample. You also can buy by the glass and bottle. I like the 2 ounce pour as it allowed me to sample around the menu and try a few different styles. The wine list contains wines across many varietals and blends from many Old World and New World countries. The diversity goes deeper in that the wineries on the list farm their grapes in many different manners. They have traditionally farmed wineries, organically farmed, sustainable and even biodynamic farmed wines (Montinore Estate stands out).
The food is pretty good as well. They offer plenty of comfort food (Poutines, burgers, salads, soup and Pizza), seafood (oysters, mussels, scallops… etc), tapas, appetizers and entrees (steak, ribs, chicken). I opted for a small pizza, PEI Mussels and Mac n Cheese Bites… yes I know, that is a lot of food. Each was prepared quite nicely and was delicious.
The service I had was fantastic. Lauren (I think that was her name) was extremely friendly and prompt. She was engaging and helpful to answer all questions. When she was not sure an answer, she excused herself and came back with a response.
Overall I enjoyed my experience here and would recommend to others in the area looking for a relaxed and quiet experience.

As far as Erie goes (and I mean that kindly), Cloud9 is pretty classy. It would easily fit in Pittsburgh; I’d liken it to AWM (Allegheny Wine Mixer) which is my personal favorite wine bar. They really do have a top notch wine menu and they also offer a cocktail list and a small beer menu. I have been here twice now and while my first experience would be 4 stars, my most recent experience was more of a 2.5 star experience, so I did an averaging to give a 3 star review and here is why more than anything else: the discrepancy in the service received on my two separate visits. My first visit was about one and a half months ago. My bf and I came here after a POPs show for a glass of wine and dessert. Our server (male but can;t remember his name) was so helpful in going over a variety of his favorite wines as well as suggesting some of his favorites within the varities we indicated liking (he suggested an excellent chardonnay for me!) We did order a trio of chocolates that was excellently presented and described by our server. They were all very unique and paired excellently with the wine we had selected.
My most recent visit was this past weekend as part of a larger group after the Erie Philharmonic. The restaurant itself was very accommodating allowing us to squeeze into a couple smaller tables before something larger opened up. The server (a dark haired male) came over quickly which was nice but that was where the prompt service stopped. When I inquired about a recommendation for a pinot grigio, his response was, «none of them are that great but if that’s what you want I’d say the Ornella (Molon Pinot Grigio Venezia)». Of course it was the priciest, but I digress… as a former server, I would have NEVER said «none of them are that great» ! When my bf asked for a Malbec suggestion, he was a little better there suggesting a few choices and actually describing them in some detail. On this visit, we ordered a more substantial meal, the Prosciutto pizza (figs /​gorgonzola /​fresh mozzarella /​arugula /​rosemary oil). Priced at $ 12 this was a seriously good deal considering the same pizza in Pittsburgh usually runs $ 18-​$ 22 depending on where you go. The crust was too crisp and hollow for my liking (my bf helped me out with that part!) but the flavors were great and I loved the sweetness of the fig jam paired with the saltiness and creaminess of the gorgonzola. It was a small 8 cut pie so it was perfect for sharing. The ingredients were distributed evenly and it was edible without using a knife and fork. The server too FOREVER (and I’m talking at LEAST 25 minutes) to bring us our checks after we had asked for them. He took so long that one of the members of our party (who only ordered a single beer) moved to another table to join a different group and asked us to tell the server IF he ever brought his check, that he had moved tables. When the server saw that particular person «missing» from our table, he literally dashed over looking very distraught asking, «did that guy here walk out without paying?» That was the only time of the night he seemed to have any sense of urgency. We pointed out where he was sitting and the server said he would take the check over to him after first leaving it on our table. By the time we actually left about 30 minutes later, he STILL had not brought the check over to our friend, but we did our part by at least telling him where he was sitting. Anyways, I’d come back here because there is nothing else really like this with a class (ier) atmosphere in Erie, but, if this place were in Pittsburgh, I’d definitely think twice about returning after the service received the second time.
