Have eaten here a few times. It is usually at least a three star event for me BUUUT, we walked in after our movie on Christmas day to find they had jacked up the price by about $ 10/plate! No change to the menu mind you, just a greedy bunch of owners out to fleece the public who venture out on Christmas day. Ha! Showed them– we traveled down the road to Imperial China Buffet and skipped the highway robbery.

Food was good with many selections… $ 13.00 for dinner $ 795 for lunch. the décor was nice and wait staff was attentive and friendly. If in Erie again I’ll stop again…

I really like this place, and that’s hard to do with a buffet. Everything always tastes fresh and there’s a pretty big selection. The prices are fairly low too.

What do you expert from a Chinese buffet in Erie, PA that’s priced under $ 12.00 per person? They offer the usual Chinese offerings, plus Sushi, raw ingredients to be cooked by a Wok chef and even pizza and mashed potatoes! The food is bland but this place is all about quantity!

I always end up eating the same foods. Good variety and unlimited refills but too consistent for frequent dining. If you’re Asian the servers will assume you’re Chinese and speak in Chinese. I shove in a lot before leaving but usually the foods are greasy and easy to get tired of. It’s a place for a get together. Not many of the foods suit Chinese with expectations to get«Chinese food».

Good not great. Trying to appeal to a wide audience and missing those who enjoy spicy Asian dishes like Gen Tso Chicken that is bland and sweet but no kick that everyone expects. I like Asian food and appreciate finding exceptionally hood food. I cannot say this is exceptional food, only good. I will try another place next trip to Erie, PA.

The atmosphere is what brings this place alive… However, the food is very bland… Not authentic tasting Chinese cuisine. Although the«quality» isn’t necessarily that bad, the flavor and presentation of the food lacks. Overpriced for«blah» food. I wouldn’t return.

My favorite place when I’m in the mood for good ol’ American Chinese food! Very nice buffet with a good variety. I wish the lighting was better — I typically go there for lunch before work, so I’m sitting solo and like to read while I eat, but with as dim as it is, that can be difficult. The staff has always been very friendly and efficient. I recently took my future in-laws there and they enjoyed it as well! Weekday lunch typically costs less than $ 10, but on weekends, you’ll pay a good bit more. Still worth it!

I went here with my fiancée before a movie a few days ago to get our fill of food so that we didn’t waste our money on popcorn and soda(can you tell I’m not an Erie native yet?) at the theater. Well that didn’t work to our plan… even though we left quite stuffed, we still filled up on popcorn and soda(I still get strange looks when I say this word in restaurants…“pop” is what I call my father, and I drink soda… get over it). Anyway, onto the actual review… The place looked excellent and so we gave it a try. I’m glad we did… we were greeted and seated quickly. I quickly took a look around the entire buffet and went in head-first, almost. I piled up a huge plate of everything imaginable… i was disappointed that the sweet potatoes had absolutely no taste to them(not even a hint of cinnamon… a shame), and also i was disappointed that the lo mein has mushrooms in it(i do not eat them). The buffet’s saving grace is that the sweet and sour chicken was nice and crunchy on the outside while not overcooked on the inside, it was perfect, and the honey chicken was perhaps the best i’ve had anywhere. That’s saying a lot as I get it everywhere I can. The Sunday buffet price was a bit expensive($ 15 per person) given I didn’t have any seafood and we were so rushed that I didn’t get to try the mongolian grill, but I will be back and will try that the next time… and I look forward to when I get to come here again. It isn’t perfect but it is quite good. Some of the other buffets in Erie may do some other dishes better, but overall, I would be perfectly happy if this ended up being the only buffet I ever went to again around here…

I would honestly not go here again. Despite the pretty decently good reviews on here already, I found that the place was just mehh. My friend and I decided to try S & S on a Friday afternoon and were pretty excited to stuff our faces with tons of fried rice and chicken. Upon walking in and to our seats, the inside looked great– nice lighting, decoration, and general overall set up of the buffet was appealing. The restaurant offers a decent variety of different types of food which is great! However, my friend and I found that the food was not bad, but just extremely plainly average. We both had the fried rice(nothing too exciting) and different types of chicken(general, honey, teriyaki) and found it just to be nothing special. I felt a little disappointed and unsatisfied– I would of went back for a second plate of food but didn’t want to waste my calories on meh-tasting food. In addition to the nonthrilling food, my friend’s water glass had food reside stuck to the inside of it– gross. Other than that, the place appeared pretty clean, our waters filled regularly, and plates taken away when we were finished. Unfortunately, I will definitely not be going back. For the cheap price(lunch price was about $ 8 on a weekday afternoon) I really can’t complain. However, I was disappointed. If you want a cheap price that allows for a variety of blah-tasting food, than give it a try.

I was in the mood for some MSG so I stopped in here. I was in luck. When I pulled into the parking lot there was a MSG tanker truck parked out front and they were using a huge hose to pump it into the kitchen! This was going to be good. Now you can decide if I’m joking or not. The atmosphere here is very nice. It’s probably the BESTLOOKING Chinese Buffet I have ever visited. The décor here is exceptional. In addition to looking good, everything was spotless and that’s always a good thing. The service was just fine. My plates were whisked away and my drink was refilled as needed. As usual in these places you can expect a language barrier with the wait staff. I got the feeling that if I told my waitress there was a bomb in the building, she would smile and hand me another napkin! So what about the food? It was going to cost me about $ 10. This place has the BIGTHREE– Chinese, sushi and a Mongolian grill. The variety was great and the temperature of most of the dishes was just fine. The quality was the usual for a buffet and occasionally great. My chicken with broccoli was excellent. I was in Erie on business and the location was convenient so I even made a second visit. It was just fine again. This is a solid three star place and worth a try if you are in the area.

It’s ok. Some food is really good some not but it has a wide selection. Night buffet is expensive so come before dinner.

Oh geez. How do I start this. It’s Erie. It’s a Chinese buffet. Should you be nervous? Maybe. Should you go? Probably! Growing up here you just get used to going to these buffets. Another one pops up every few months. I was a diehard Imperial Fan. What can I say, I loved the Mongolian grill. Too bad they had 19 health code violations or I may have been waiting for my Mongolian grill as we speak. So I’m at S & S and I dive in. They have sushi offerings, which you can’t expect to be as good as a fresh, sushi specific place, but you know will satisfy your sushi craving. They also have all the favorites. Sweet ‘n sour chicken, General Tso’s and Lo Mein. I mean, my fave’s at least. If they have those staples, I’m in! Throw in a pretty decent Mongo buffet, and I could hit this place up every weekend. If it wasn’t for the massive amounts of MSG. But wait, they have ice cream too. I may just forget there was even an Imperial in Erie. MAYBE. I still miss the grumpy guy working the Mongo buffet with that special sauce that made it so good! Hey, at least this place isn’t racking up the health code violations. Moral of the story, if you need a Chinese buffet fix without the extreme health code violations, hit this place up!

It’s an average buffet at best. There is a huge variety of food — and I was excited to eat the raw octopus, which was interesting — but overall, that food is average and not nearly worth the expensive price tag.

Hubby and I tried it after a workout at the Planet Fitness next door. Sure Chinese buffet is not very healthy, but we were really hungry and i heard they had sushi. The sushi was pretty decent for a buffet. There was also a small variety of different seafood including snow crab legs and peel n eat shrimp. With the hibachi i don’t think we ate that unhealthy and the food was very good. Hibachi offered veggies, mushrooms, eggs, fake crab, shrimp, chicken, steak, rice and noodles that they cooked for you with brown, garlic, or some other sauce. There were also standard chinese buffet fair. i had a small amount of it including part of an egg roll and a crab cheese wonton which were good. on a friday nite the cost was only $ 12! we used to eat at a place called The Crazy Buffet in Orlando that was twice as expensive for almost the same food. The price, hibachi, and sushi would bring me back. Also, they didn’t over charge for my husbands beer — that is something I can also appreciate!

I took a while to get there to try it, but all I had heard about it was good things, then I went 11 am on a Sunday. The food was hot, delicious and well stocked, despite the time. When it comes to Chinese Buffets in Erie, PA, you’ve got to be careful. It really depends on what you’re favorite dish is… I think S & S is good foy their shear variety, as opposed to any one dish. It’s new, and so clean! Sadly, I’ve never seen a Chinese Buffet with this much internal decoration. They’ve got design elements, that are built in decorations. No paper images of silk tapastries here! No wall-sized pictures of the great wall of China. They have the haibachi grill here as well, but I didn’t get to try it, because I was on my lunch hour and I needed to hurry… As long as the quality doesn’t decline, I will definatly continue to patronize this establishment.
