Best meats, fresh produce, seafood, poultry, plus Art’s fresh made bakery-the best!!! Andy and Gerry and the Urbaniak’s family always provide top quality at good prices. Local is best!!! And did I say home-made Polish delicacies!!! Chet and Rita raised their sons correctly!!! They smoke their own hams, sausage, and other meats. They have the best beef jerky!!! Ox roast, Polish«caviar», and even czarnina by the quart!

Once a year, I drive to Erie to visit with my wife’s family. I wish I had found this shop years ago. Although it is primarily a meat shop, it is great to have the option for fruits and vegetables and a wonderful bakery section.

Although not a native of Erie, this is one of my stops while visiting my sister. Whether cooking a nice dinner or just for the beef sticks, this is the only place to go. It’s old school, great meat and sausages, great service and did I mention the beef sticks? My sister ships the beef sticks whenever we get a craving.

My family has been shopping here for well over 60 years. The best part for me of going there is the smell that hits your nose as soon as you open the doors! All those fresh cut meats and polish deli items mixed in with the bakery smells just floods your sense’s! I love their fresh made kiska, the best I’ve ever had. I remember going there as a child with my dad to buy frozen ducks blood for my mom to make a Polish soup called Czernina. They have the hottest fresh made horseradish too. Whenever I’m back in Erie I buy a large cooler’s worth of food to bring back home with me. My kids love the beef sticks!

If you are an Erie native, you probably know Urbaniak’s and you should make it a regular part of your food shopping practice! This store is a gem. Pretty typical butcher shop of days gone by and really a rare thing in most cities. If you are visiting, this is a great place to put on your list of «Things to do in Erie…» If you are a vegan, the t shirts are great gifts. One stop shopping for carnivores and omnivores. Great selection of pork, beef, poultry, deli items and seafood. Lots of Ox Roast and sausage products – all made in house. This is a famous Erie establishment. My Urbaniak’s calendar was a prized possession when I lived out west. Last time I was there, I heard one of the Urbaniak brothers explaining the best way to cook beef heart. The counter people are fast and polite.

Beef is grass fed. Delicious meats! Prompt & caring service. One good thing about winter: czarnina soup! On occasion I might get some produce too.

Awesome. I’ve been going there since I was a little kid. Get a pound of beef sticks from there, they’re awesome.

This place reminds me of the markets in Philly. Busy, and they know their meats. They must have a good supplier because their meats look awesome. Not for the squeamish though… I can’t watch them process/cut raw meat… But then again, I try to limit my time in the meat department of Wegman’s ;-)

I love Urbaniak’s. The service is above and beyond. Gerry Urbaniak calls me when he gets chicken backs in so I can stock up for stock. The house prepared meats — smoked ham, salmon, kielbasa etc are top notch. Anything you get here is better quality than a supermarket and cheaper to boot. They have some Polish specialties like Czarnina and local favorites like city chicken and ox roast.
