When looking at used stores for kids stuff, I definitely prefer Hand Me Downs to the other options in the area. The clothes are all in good condition and the store is very clean. There is always a variety and the owner is really good about keeping their Facebook page updated with items they have a surplus of and items they need. I’ve never walked out without making a purchase. My favorite purchase to make is onesies. They are about a buck a piece and all different kinds — more than I’ll find in a normal baby clothing section.

I visit this store once every couple of months – usually in the transition of the season to see their selection. I buy anything from children’s clothes to toys and all seem to be farily priced. They always have a nice selection of high chairs, cribs and bedding as well if you’re looking for those items. I would NOT recommend selling any of items to them – I realize they need to make a profit, but I brought in 4 maternity dresses, all worn minimally for office work and special occasions, holiday wedding, etc… each was purchased at Mimi Maternity in Kenwood for $ 75 and up… and they wanted to give me $ 10.00 for all of them. I said, «I’ll donate them to charity and get a tax rightoff!» The owner of the store is… weird. I don’t want to say«unfriendly» but she rarely speaks, and she’s just not the most outgoing person to ever run a retail store. I did have good experience when I purchased a Johnny Jump up for our little one. The more«girly» of the two(and the higher priced one) reeked of cigarette smoke and I brought it to the owner’s attention. That was a little creepy to me… she wasn’t sure how it had made it onto the sales floor in that condition, but she said she would try to wash it and take care of it – they called me a day later and told me it wouldn’t come out and held the other one back for me and apologized for the inconvenience. My little one has NO idea, her«jump up» was gender neutral :)
