This has become our hotel of choice when traveling to the Northern KY area. Recently renovated, and it shows! The staff here is INCREDIBLE. Esther at the front desk has to be the sweetest person! In fact all of the staff here are awesome. The rooms are big, comfortable, and well equipped(microwave, mini fridge) CLEAN– everything in the room was spotless. The beds were comfortable, sheets crisp and clean!, the TV was a nice flat screen, bathroom was very nice, noise levels are very low. Close to airport, shopping, and sports venues. You won’t be disappointed if you stay here.

This is the best Red Roof I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms are all indoors, and each room has its own private balcony. I stayed here by myself, and had a superior king room on the second floor. I felt very safe in the hotel and in the lobby and parking lot, and as a woman traveling alone, this is a big plus. My room was spotless and comfortable. There is plenty of storage, and my room had a mini fridge and microwave. The bathroom was impressive as well. There were even these heat lamps close to the entrance of the shower that you could turn on and keep toasty. My room faced the parking lot, and being just on the second floor it was as if the waffle house across the street could see into my room if I had the drapes open. This is no big deal, however. The noise level was very low, and I think that was because I was on the second floor. Had I been on the first floor, I think it would have been a little noisier. There are four floors overall, so I’d recommend staying high up if you want to feel all to yourself. This hotel has fast free WiFi, and free breakfast in the mornings from 6−9am. I wasn’t too impression by the breakfast, mostly just bagels and muffins, biscuits and gravy, coffee and orange juice. Just because they didn’t have what I wanted for breakfast doesn’t mean it wasn’t decent for being free. The lobby areas are clean and comfortable, and the stairwell seems safe and secluded. This is one of the better Red Roof Inns out there. It’s very close to the highway as well, and I would recommend it if you are in the area!

I had a paid-in-full reservation at this dump. Not a deposit but completely paid in full. I arrive after an 8 hour flight and try to check in. Ooops. Due to the fact I checked in so late they resold my room, per their policy, to someone else. And they are sold out. Even if you’re paid in full if you are not physically at the room on check in date by a certain time they resell the room… here is the best part… NOREFUND. So they kept my money and then sold the room to someone else, doubling their revenue. I disputed the charge with my credit card and the bank sided with the hotel. Why? The hotel responded in writing that the room was available and services were rendered to me!!! They are thieves and liars. I had a business meeting later that day and ended up sleeping in my car until 3pm when I checked in at another hotel. Hope you like cheating people out of money Red Roof Inn. If you are a business traveler avoid this place at all cost. I’ve re-opened a dispute with my bank, blasted the hotel on every online review site, and filed a complaint with the BBB. How can they take your money and provide no service?

(Note: It appears that up until possibly very recently, this was a Comfort Inn.) This is a difficult review to write. The hotel itself is really shabby and in desperate need of an update, but the rest of it was so good that you’re left with this very disjointed feeling. Usually, if you see a poorly-kept-up façade, it’s a good indication that the staff and owners don’t care enough to give good service or amenities, but that is very much not the case with this Red Roof Inn. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and quiet(we didn’t hear the nearby airport or highway at all) and it had a balcony, mini-fridge, and microwave(everything was in good functioning order). There is an outdoor pool with what appeared to be a diving well(it was closed for the season during our visit). The bedding was crisp and clean, and apart from wear and tear, the room was decently clean as well. The bed itself was comfortable and we slept well. The building, as I mentioned, really needs a serious facelift across the board(and it looked like they had recently painted the front of the building so maybe they are working on it?) The elevators were old and somewhat slow, none of the vending machines(except on the first floor) worked, the carpets were stained and ancient-looking, and the lobby(away from the area directly in front of the front desk) lacked furniture. In our room, there was a piece of wallpaper that had come up from the wall and the toilet needed some TLC to flush. As I mentioned before, though, I would normally never like a place for which I used the above paragraph to describe it, but we actually really enjoyed our stay. Everything was comfy, quiet, and nice… a great value… it just really wasn’t much to look at. Now, I made the mistake of booking this room through . At first we needed a single queen but the night before we arrived we realized that we would be needing two beds. wanted to charge us an entire night’s stay as a penalty just to switch the bed type, and claimed this was«the hotel’s policy». Well, of course, the hotel had no such policy, but when I called them they were unable to switch the reservation unless told them to, per their contract. When I checked in, though, the front desk staff went out of their way to find a way to trick the system into letting them switch the bed type and we got our double-queen :) If I ever find myself in this area again, I would definitely consider staying here, especially if they’ve renovated!
