I have been going to Wert since I was in sixth grade (1997). The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about students in band. In today’s online market, Wert is happy to offer competitive prices which can be comparable to WWBW and Amazon. Sticker prices may seem high, but these prices are the manufacturer’s suggested retail for quality merchandise. Wert usually has discounts available on common necessities such as reeds, mouthpieces, and sticks, and offers the best rates in the area for quality rental band instruments– Bach and Yamaha to name a couple specific brands. Most of the band directors in the area rely on Wert for their programs, and this business is willing to order anything they can to accommodate a person’s musical lifestyle. This music store is severely overpriced! I went in needing some baritone saxophone reeds and a neck strap. The dealer said that he was going to give me a discount on a box of reeds, because I am a student at CCM, for $ 50… I can get them on
for $ 35 and ships for free. Then I asked about the legere signature series synthetic reeds. He was going to sell one of those to me for $ 40… on
they are $ 29, also ships for free.
I then asked about a baritone sax neck strap but unfortunately they were sold out. Don’t go here if you are looking for common instrument needs that you can order online. Wait the extra couple of days and save yourself a lot of money. Wert may be a great place to send your kids for lessons after school, but don’t pay to much when their are other cheaper alternatives!
