I have camped here for the past two years and I fully intend to continue that tradition! Both times we got a spot on the island, which is definitely the way to go.(I actually can’t even speak for the rest of the campground, but why would you want to camp there when you could be on an ISLAND) You have to boat out and that ended up being the biggest challenge for us. Year One was alright, we rented a canoe from the campground and were able to comfortably make it out there with 2 people and our camping equipment. Year Two, in an effort to save money(the cost of the canoe for each day was higher than the cost of the campsite) we borrowed a canoe from a friend but also had 4 people to get out there. The water was ridiculously choppy during the time we were there and it was actually kind of scary with the amount of weight we had in the canoe. Anyway, scary boat rides aside, the trip was awesome. The island sites are spaced so far apart that you might as well be on your own private island. I would recommend planning accordingly with the boats and if needed they do rent them, but be sure to book ahead!
