After reading the reviews here, I realized I was not the only one who’d had such a bad experience so I wanted to weigh in… have quit stopping here as there are far better stops along 120 beginning just outside Manteca and all the way up to Oakdale. Yes, they are rude, yes they have a fit if you peel back to check the corn and yes their produce is usually not that great.

NEVER coming back here again! I was checking out the corn, peeling it back about an inch to check the kernels and the snippy clerk hollered at me to stop peeling back the leaves. «No need to check the corn, nothing in there to see!». I’ve shop at Whole Foods, Safeway, all the local produce stands in the area surrounding this stand and NEVER was I told, I couldn’t check what I was buying! Even my husband was embarrassed by her demeanor! I will never be back. In all fairness, the produce looked good but after her comment, I just left.

Products:(5 stars) Fresh, sweet, and delicious. Selection:(5 stars) Plenty off variety from fruits to veggies to specialty products. Atmosphere:(5 stars) Open air, products are neatly organized, and plenty of parking. Customer Service:(5 stars) They don’t nit pick on price and sometimes will toss in something extra just to say thanks(i.e. a few extra strawberries with a basket) Final Thoughts: The veggie chips are a must. 10c/lb for watermelons(see attached picture). Strawberries so sweet they don’t need sugar. Forget the burger stands and stop here for a healthy alternative snack.

Everytime I drive on HWY120 I have to stop here to pick up fresh produce on my way back to SF. They have the most eye catching signs so you can’t miss them. Here’s a list of what I picked up over the 4th of July weekend: –Blackberries –Walnuts –Jam –Mixed dried fruit –Dried banana chips –White Corn(10 for $ 1). I regret not buying more

What a rip off! Sold us old, dried out corn on the cobb! Should have known not to shop there when at every table there were negative signs saying«You break it, you buy it!» «Do not shuck corn or pull down leaves… we have fresh in back, just ask!» Well, we did that and only 2 ears were edible… had to throw away the other 10 ears! DONOTBUYHERE! There are so many other places along the route… keep driving!

I usually stop along Highway 120, near Modesto visiting my uncle. It is in BFE … Butt F*&^ Egypt, byt you cannot get fresher produce than along 120, on the way to Yosemite. Lots of nuts can be had, mostly from the almond trees along the highway. It gets very hot in the San Joaquin Valley, so most things grow pretty well. If by chance you happen to drive to the national park, stop along almost any roadside stand and pick up some Escalon Salsa. TRUSTME … you will be glad you did. Besides where else can you still find a home, relatively close to the SF Bay Area for under $ 400,000 … BRANDNEW with a pool. The one way to beat the heat, and some of the worst air in the state.
