The hunny and I saw a sign for this antique store the last time we were in the big city of Escalon. Aaaa, why not stop in. We were hap-pea that we did. We saw some cute things when we pea-ked in the window. Many street signs, also cookbooks, dresses, historical photographs, and a wagon wheel. It doesn’t have as large of an inventory as many antique stores, with no attempt to appea-se the customer. But what is there has is good quality. Including a picture that now hangs on our wall. When you look out the window and see the Santa Fe caboose in the park across the street, that adds to the ambiance. Also, quiet pea-ano music in the background(«Hey, that’s a Michael Card song!») that gives you a sense of peas — er, peace. But actually, the most memorable part of The Green Pea is the prevalence of signs that encourage you to enjoy the store. Usually with awful puns that use the word«pea». Hence, my usage of awful pea puns in this Unilocal review. If ya don’t like that, buddy, ya want a peas of me???

The owner is rather rude and cocky! Her stuff is overpriced as he buying prices are very cheap, plus she is closed a lot!

What a delightful store to visit and explore. The owner has a knack for creating fabulous displays. Created from a former incarnation as a hardware store the Green Pea is a perfect stop in downtown Escalon.

«Cottage» style seems to dominate this store. Many items have been painted to appeal to the shabby-chic buyer. The owner features a nice mix of new items such as aprons and wall hooks along with older items such as garden tools and fruit crates. This is a large store with a lot of merchandise. The building itself offers historical and architectural interest.
