American Mini Storage

I have been one of their customers for 15 years now. To hit me with 2 increases in one year? How many other loyal customers can say the same to such loyalty. Mind you in 15 years all they have done in improvements is fresh coat of paint outdoor and the building numbering. I would expect such a thing from your larger competitors like Public Storage, Price Self Storage or San Diego Self Storage but American Mini Storage where it’s a mom and pop type of business with only one location? The inside of the buildings are no way in comparison to the above listed big named companies. Must be a new owner where greed comes into play. Not for his/​her employees for they get free or discounted rent bit for his pocketbook. Time to look for something closer to home. Shame on you!

The managers and security at American mini storage are top notch. More than once, while I was putting stuff in or taking stuff out, they have stopped by to make sure everything was okay and to say hello. I like that there is a security gate to grant access, and that someone is on site constantly to make sure all is well. My boys and I also really appreciate the clean restroom they have available as well.

Avoid this place at all costs! Purchased and signed up for a 5′ x 5′ unit for $ 29/​month. This was on Sunday ⁶⁄₂₃. We rushed up there to do the paperwork at 4:30PM (before they closed at 5PM) so that we could just drop stuff off on Monday on our move up from San Diego to Santa Barbara.
On Monday, we rented a Uhaul truck and my fiancé unloaded the ENTIRE Uhaul and brought it ALL upstairs. After moving in ONE Craftsman Industrial 3000 Tool Chest into the unit… they came up and said it was too much weight and he would need to stop.
This was not told to us what-​so-​ever. I informed them of what we were putting into the unit. They NEVER mentioned a weight restriction. They offered him a downstairs unit for $ 47/​month, but that is more than we are willing to pay. We were also going to speak to the owner on Tuesday ⁶⁄₂₄ to pay for 2 years up front.
I feel like we got the bait and switch. We could have just as easily gone to another storage place for the same price. My fiancé is in the process of re-​loading the Uhaul right now — bringing everything back DOWNSTAIRS and into the truck. An ENTIRE day was wasted on this and it’s absolutely ridiculous.

Absolutely love this place. Great prices. Protected my cherished items… Including my antique dressier vanity set. Management and weekend staff totally awesome… Honestly I felt like I just had my stuff stored at my grandparents. I cried when I checked out. I had my stuff there a long time and I liked to pay in person so I could visit with them.
If your looking for great storage all around, this is the place.

To my husband’s delight 3 years ago I decided to get a small storage unit for my Halloween and Christmas decorations (and I have a lot). I couldn’t be happier. I always feel safe there and I know my items are always secure. It’s also a plus the unit area is very clean. I like that there’s a security gate but the office manager is always there and very courteous.

i’ve had my boutique fixtures & some extra furniture from our older kids moving in & out and i feel like my belongings are safe & secure. the mgmt is always so friendly and helpful. you can call in to make a payment most times if your credit or debit card is on file. would definitely recommend! :-)
