So bummed this location closed! Their other location is in a tiny shack in a very cramped parking lot next to a donut shop. At least it has a drive thru! Their snowballs are awesome. Don’t forget to pick up a punch card!

The desserts look beautiful. The flavor combinations sound intriguing. But my experience was extremely disappointing. I only tasted any«flavor» in the first two bites of my snowball(which was Peanut Butter Cup-flavored). After that, it was just like eating a mountain of ice chips, trying desperately to get to the ice cream below… which — surprise! — is filled with so many ice chunks itself that it just tasted freezer burnt. The whole thing was just gross. I don’t know if I was just there on an off night, but I don’t care to try again to find out.

I prefer their norte prkwy location better. The people at this location are not as nice as the other place… but snow balls are still good and its way closer to my house. I just wish they were nicer and friendlier like the employees at el norte prkwy!

As a former Balti-moron now living in San Diego, the things that I miss most are all food related — Utz potato chips, Berger cookies, easy access to Old Bay Seasoning, crabs steamed in Natty Boh beer, and snowballs. And now, thanks to Baltimore snowball in Escondido, I can at least get my fix of one of those things. :) If you don’t know what a snowball is, let me tell you what it’s *not*. It’s NOT Hawaiian shave(d) ice and it’s definitely NOT a sno-cone. It’s somewhere in between the two because you get the crushed ice of a sno-cone and the syrup flavor of shave ice. Personally, I think it’s the best of both worlds(and don’t even try to convince me otherwise!). I don’t really get the addition of ice cream to the snowball — it’s certainly not traditional, but the pics make it look good and other reviewers seem to like it. If you want traditional, go for a straight up chocolate snowball with marshmallow topping or maybe crème brûlée with marshmallow topping(although, in Bmore that’s just called egg custard flavor). I also don’t really get why the staff seem to complicate things with how exactly they get the crushed ice into the cup. I’ve always just seen the ice go straight from the machine and get packed into the cup, but Baltimore Snowball adds in a funnel for some reason. As far as I can tell, it just makes things take longer than it should, but oh well, they have their system. I wish Escondido wasn’t such a hike for me, I’ve never had to drive so far to get a snowball before. But, then again, it *is* closer than driving to Baltimore *and* I can get my fix year round instead of just in the summer like at home. I have a feeling that the next time family is visiting from out of town, we’ll be making our way back to Baltimore Snowball.

Had my first taste of a snowball at Unilocal North County’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which they handed out generous portions! Ever since the event I’ve been wanting to go! Finally made it happen today. I went to this location since it’s closest to my house. Cute little place. 50’s décor, Elvis and other similar music playing. No Justin Bieber, as their tip jar boasts ;) All the tables have different games to play(ours was table football). Very creative. For my snowball I picked the Ocean City Sunset with whip. I want to try the Hummingbird. Make sure to look to the left when you are at the counter for even more options! I missed those till after I ordered, but was completely happy with my order. Super nice on a hot day! Friendly service. No complaints. 5 stars.

Has an amazing collection of fifties Americana ranging from Buddy Holly to Bobby Darin. The snowballs are amazing and totally unique to Southern California. The service is great, friendly, and helpful. I recommend this to anyone looking for a great dessert place in Escondido

A kissing cousin of the their El Norte(converted drive-thru coffee kiosk) location. Baltimore snowball is one of Escondido’s best dessert places. — Snowballs are great and there’s tremendous variety. — Cheap, a few bucks get you a tasty cold dessert. — This isn’t the most impressive dessert shop when it comes to décor. In fact, it wasn’t very inviting. I’m happy they still have the coffee kiosk still open. — I’m a little concerned that this«chain» is growing too quickly. They just opened up another one in San Marcos with more rumored on the way. That usually spells trouble when there are too many locations but not enough management.

Like there would be anything less than FIVESTARS! I am so excited that we now have an indoor Baltimore Snowball location for those super cold or rainy nights! Everyone knows I’m a junkie for Baltimore Snowballs and I was super happy we could make it to the opening night party at this new location! Shout out to Gus and his little girly who were there sharing the fun with us and taking scary pictures of me! I even immortalized the occasion by getting a flavor snowball that I’d never had before, the S’more! It was actually pretty good. I usually stay away from the chocolate snowballs, but the chocolate ice cream and marshmallow snow with marshmallow crème and graham crackers on top was DELISH! I’m pretty sure that all of the flavors are delish and if you seriously STILL have not been to Baltimore Snowball, what the heck are you waiting for? Now you have two locations at which to make this special outing happen! The new location is indoors with a fun 50s theme(I’m seriously thinking they need an old EM Pinball machine in there, though!), they even made the tables themed, but you go in and figure them out! I’m not telling. They have a lot more room to move around, music from the speakers up above and a fun vibe overall. I love these people and their delicious treat. I just want to share them with the world!

LOVE this new location! My this isn’t your typical shaved ice and nothing can really compare to it. You pick your ice cream center, pick your flavors for the shaved ice(huge selection of flavors by the way!), choose your toppings and enjoy! They also have a good selection of pre-designed snowballs. I recommend the apple pie a la mode. I’m glad to see that they’re opening more locations. Hoping Kearny Mesa is next, so I can get my family and friends addicted too ;)

Great ‘50s décor, booth seating… and a big olé menu of all the snowball choices. Had the Blood Orange with sour spray, my daughter got the PomaBerry Punch, both were very good! Even as crowded as it was for opening night the staff was smiling and atentive. Keep it up Dukes!
