First and last visit. Soy mocha does not equal warm soy with hot cocoa mix. If I wasn’t in a rush with my 14 month old son, I would have gone back for a refund.

I love this coffee shop! I go here multiple times a week. It has a cozy atmosphere and I enjoy sitting in the«living room» area to do some studying. Their lattes are amazing and they have a large variety of teas and boba drinks! The staff is very friendly and welcoming as well.

After dropping off my car at a local tire repair service, I decided to saunter down Grand Avenue in search of some much-needed caffeine, rather than wasting my time away in a dirty auto repair waiting room. In comes Escondido Joe’s. Escondido Joe’s is situated on the flattering, cute part of Grand Ave — the part that looks like a refined, upcoming small town village. Besides the south part of the city where the North County Fair is located, this Grand Ave. portion of Escondido is about as good as it gets in terms of the city’s appearance. When I walked in, the shop was chock-full of an eclectic group of coffee junkies that were eagerly taking advantage of both the indoor and outdoor tables. A cozy little lounging area with plush sofas also exists towards the back, an area that would be ideal for the student in search of a nice place to study. The cashier that greeted me was more than affable, gave me a giant smile, and immediately made me feel welcomed. I decided to have a regular cup of coffee. While waiting for my cup of joe, I also began to eye an attractive case of freshly baked cookies. Being that it was Friday, the middle of the day, and rationalizing that I hadn’t yet had lunch, I decided to splurge and order the giant chocolate chip cookie. The cashier quelled my guilt by advising me that I had made an excellent choice. Indeed, the cookie was sheer heaven. And the accompanying cup of coffee made my rather crappy day a little more brighter. Thank you, Escondido Joe’s.

Veggie burger? Yes they do! I was looking through their menu and stumbled upon a veggie burger that tasted really good. I also ordered a mango tea and I swear it’s the best mango tea I’ve ever had. Very enjoyable :) The cake was topped with great customer service. I loved it here. Super chill and very relaxing.

Stopped into this cool looking coffee shop with my wife today to beat the heat. The short brunette that took our orders was a total B. for some reason she had an attitude and it really pissed us off. The iced coffee was watered down and gross anyways. Whoever Joe is, he needs to get rid of this rude girl. We wont be back. Next time Im spending my cash at STARBUCKS!

I really like their Hot Chocolate but I hear the coffee is really good too. They have a good selection of teas as well. I like the pastries and the BLT’s are tasty. There is free WiFi also. Always friendly service which is nice.

This is such an adorable coffee shop. I used to come here a few years ago when a friend worked here, but he since moved on and I moved away and Escondido Joe’s was almost forgotten to me. Then just a few weeks ago as I was planning to meet a girlfriend in the San Diego area, I thought of this lovely café from memory lane. She and I sat in the back«living room» area and let my boys play checkers on the carpet while we sipped our coffee and chatted it up. I ordered the Blended Banana Mocha and it was incredible.(I wish the coffee shops in San Francisco could figure out how to make good ice blended drinks…) If I could’ve ordered fifty to take home with me I would have. It must have been close to 90 degrees outside, but the café was cool and intimate: a refuge for all its mid-day patrons. Shoppers, students, businessmen, and retirees were all enjoying their own conversations quietly in the background. Such a picturesque community. It definitely reminded me of a «home away from home” – exactly what you want in your local coffee shop… right?

Hell yes!!! If you live in or near Escondido, you have got to got to Café joe’s. It is located on Grand Ave which provides a taste of small town America. There are plenty of small mom and pop type businesses to check out while in the area as well. The décor is old school rock n roll meets the hot rod culture, but they also manage to provide a distinguishing aura for the lover of great literature… Its true, they mix quite a few different vibes and pull it off! The service is nice, and the family owned and operated feel shows, and I mean that as a good thing! Just GO!

My favorite local coffee shop in Escondido.(And i wont spill the beans on the one i used to work at in downtown Esco) :x Before she left for college, Dawn suggested to try the Avocado smoothie one hot day before the farmers market. I was skeptical… BUTLETMETELLYOU. Since i moved to San Diego, i do not get to stop in ATLEAST once a week anymore… so when i do, i ALWAYS get the avocado smoothie. Its really sweet. I LOVE the color. ha ha I think since i expect it to tast so much like blended guacamole, the taste surprises me every time… and that may be the best part about it! :) The Parker’s are all so friendly, and ALWAYS greet you with a smile! Way to represent Escondido guys!

Honestly, I like everything about this coffee shop. They have great breakfast sandwiches, free wifi, good coffee, the music isn’t too loud, the lighting inside is good, the chairs are comfortable and the people are friendly. My wife loves the Snicker Bar latte. I just drink black coffee, and they always have several kinds to choose from. OK, I lied, there is one thing I don’t care for — I do wish they were open later. They cater to the«downtown» crowd in Escondido, but I live downtown and I am a grad student. A late night coffee shop would be great. Even just open till 9 pm would be nice. They are open later on Fridays but that is when they have live music. But if you need a place to be and its before 6pm this is a great coffee shop!

This is another place I visited after having my hair cut by Joe on the weekends and the place I went to celebrate passing my driver’s test. The location feels grungy and urban, very much like the stereotype coffee bar with small stage for performances on certain nights. This is one of the few places I bought Boba tea from and it was not too sweet. The pastries were fair but maybe a bit too sweet for my liking. I remember being a fan of their croissants because they were perfectly flaky and buttery without being too heavy to eat. I may or may not come back here again.

This is a great coffee shop in Escondido, they have a variety of coffee and teas that are always good. They have good seating even some couches in the back. They even have books and games in the back so you can spend hours here just hanging out, and the friendly staff always makes you feel welcome.

The more I continue to frequent this place, the more it has grown on me. The little nuances of the employees has really become apparent. Also I forgot to mention the chocolate chip cookies are divine, and maybe i’m just super lucky, but they are almost always warm and gooey. The ice teas are also delicious and perfectly refreshing for these hot summer Escondido days. AND on top of that you get a FREE refill! The staff here truly goes above and beyond for its customers and their pets! I bring my great dane all the time and they make sure he has water and are always very friendly to him. All my friends agree this is a great place to spend an Escondido afternoon!

The Italian ice was pretty bad. Kinda tasted sugar-free but there was no mention of that. The person I visiting with got a mint tea. He said it was pretty good. I might return but the Christian Themed accessories(like mugs) and the country music was a little off putting. :-S

Super sweet little coffee shop in the middle of Escondido’s Grand Ave. I drive by this place every morning and always wanted stop and finally did. It’s all brick exposed on the inside with random mismatched furniture and a stage where local artists come to perform on the weekends. This is the kind of coffee house where you go and stay a while, set up shop with your laptop and enjoy the good eats and drinks. I order one of there recommended breakfast sandwiches on a croissant and it was delish! I also splurged and went for a Milky Way Mocha… kind of sweet but definitely a nice treat once in a while. The girl behind the counter was very friendly and helpful to me especially since I had no idea what I wanted. There prices are pretty comparable to Starbucks, but there quality is so much better. Parking can be a bit tricky, if you go early enough, it shouldn’t too hard right on Grand.

Great coffee shop! No one makes a better non-fat vanilla latte than James. He’s awesome! Try the croissants!

I’ve been spending a lot of time in coffee shops lately, and I must say, I REALLY like this one! My first time there was on Friday, Jan. 7th. A couple of us were there to support a friend who was performing that night. With that said, yes they do have a little stage there for live music and Friday nights are open mic night! The décor is very urban and old-school chic. They also have this cozy little room in the back with books and games. It has a very inviting atmosphere — almost like someone’s house. There’s a nice comfy couch with a few throw pillows and lots of seating around. I had a pretty good turkey sandwich, but I did I did not get coffee though — I will save that for next time. My friend had a Snicker Bar latte and it was pretty good! Service was amazing. I personally like the smaller local coffee shops in comparison to the big corporate ones. I would definitely go back if I’m ever in the area!

OK. I give. I have learned to really like Escondido Joe’s. The first couple times I visited, I was really unimpressed. But that was probably due to the fact that they were a brand new coffee shop and still working out all of the kinks associated with newness. I’m finding myself here more and more. Love the feel of the place(it’s looked the same since the«His Place Christian Coffee Shop» days, and that’s a good thing, it’s a hip spot), and I like(don’t love) their coffee. My standby drink — americano on ice, add caramel, splash of half&half — is better here than Starbucks, CoffeeBean and Peet’s. Only Blue Mug and Ryan’s Brothers makes a better Americano. Good work Joe.

Sometimes you stumble upon little treasures, and this morning I stumbled into Escondido Joe’s for coffee. I have always wanted to stop in, but it always seemed crowded. Now I know why, this little coffee shop is a great place to spend time in! The décor is that of a coffee shop in a big city, with a stage up front for live music and a back room that has a great bookcase full of books, sports memorabilia and records on the wall. It looks like someone’s den, which is to say it is very inviting. The girls that work here are super friendly and will cater to any need you have. The coffee here is the best I have tasted in Escondido, hands down. Treat yourself to their regular brewed coffee or get a specialty. I had myself a white mocha and it’s one of the most flavorful white mocha’s I have sipped on. They do serve food here as well, so if you need a bite to eat with your coffee you are in luck. Free Wi-Fi is available here through Escondido’s Grand Business association’s free w-ifi throughout the Grand area in Escondido. For locals and non locals to get quality coffee, pass up those chain brand coffee shops and spend some time here at Escondido Joe’s coffee shop. Your coffee taste buds will thank you.

Starbucks sure knows how to conquer suburbia, so it is not surprising that few people seem to know about this place. But if you are in Escondido and have been on the hunt for a nice coffeehouse, then you NEED to come to this place. It definitely has a warm coffeehouse feel with lots of tables and a back room that is stocked with comfy chairs and sofas. There is also a jukebox on the stage and live music on Friday nights. This place sells Caffe Calabria whole beans by the pound, so you can take some the finest, local roasted beans home with you. My latte was well done. A nice amount of espresso to wake me up from my zombie-like state. The menu is full of good things for breakfast, lunch and snacks too. Plus, there is a happy hour menu with discounts on drinks and pastries. All menu prices are comparable with the corporate coffee chains. For someone who spent a ridiculous amount of time at coffeehouses when I was 16 years old, this felt like coming home. Local coffeehouses like this are good for the kids; it keeps them out of trouble. SUPPORTYOURLOCALCOFFEEHOUSE!
