Best Chicken soup ever! Tons of chicken, tons of flavor and made fresh to order. Delicious flautas and their daily specials are a great deal. The location isn’t the best, but the food is!

I’ve loved Jorge’s Food since encinitas. Their food is as authentic as can be. One of the few Mexican food places that still care about their customers. Thank you Jorge’s.

This establishment I give three stars because the location is kind of hard to locate… the ambience is very cold BUT the food is really good. Because it is really sterile & echoes in there I wouldn’t recommend eating there, it’s probably best to take it for takeout if you’re going to be eating with your family. I ordered a California burrito; I like that they used actual potatoes opposed to fries. I also enjoyed the fact that they have a open kitchen so you can see the food being made. Menu was very clear and the establishment was really well kept up as far as being clean. Their salsa was nice and spicy just how I like it! and the employees were very nice. :)

I’ve been driving over to Jorge’s in Encinitas because they are sooo good. I recently found out they opened a Mexicatessen closer to me in Escondido. The same exact recipes! The Texcoco chicken soup is awesome and my husband loves their Chile Rellenos. The sauce is fantastic. All the food is great. I tried the chicken mole taco the last time and it was yummy. They do not disappoint! Always courteous and friendly. We always look forward to going there!

This review comes after dining here four seperate times. This is a great place for quick and filling lunch. Quick because the service is prompt and friendly. Filling because they serve decent sized portions that kept me satisfied. The food is flavorful, I would recommend the taquitos, good meat with a nice crunchy exterior. Also, the dining room, tables, and chair are clean and well maintained.

I love the specials every day and the prices cann’t beat that Alberto’s; my daughter always likes to go on wednesdays cause she gets here favor quesadilla, and then the salsa love it! KEEP IT UP JORGE’S

Stopped in after seeing it mentioned on Unilocal in my quest to make it thru Escondido’s myriad of taco shops.
The good: Nice and clean, fast friendly service.
Not as: Went with the generic carne asada burrito to get the flavor of the place. Good filling and fresh buut the flour tortilla was so dried out it crumbled in my hand while trying to eat. I’ll give it another shot to be fair.

Hidden Meadows, CA
Ever since we moved to Hidden Meadows in N. Escondido we have found just bland Mexican food, some served almost cold (Lourdes…Yuk!). I am so happy Jorge’s is out here. It looks like your typical run of the mill taco shop on Valley Pkwy, and there are several out here, but in the kitchen it’s all Jorge’s just like Encinitas. I specifically drove here the other morning for the Machaca burrito and it was EXACTLY like I am used to. HOT and full of flavor! (excellent salsa too) Thanks for coming to Escondido Jorge, you have been the only good Mexican meal so far.

This is owned by the same owners that run the ones on El Camino Real in Encinitas and Sante Fe Dr. in Encinitas. Same menu and many of the same people that work at the other locations are working here. This means that the excellent soup is here. I no longer have to drive from Rancho Bernardo to Encinitas to get soup!!!
I am not sure what this was before Jorge’s opened, but it is larger then the one on El Camino, a few more tables, but there is no dedicated parking — either on the street in front or the street in back. I’ve had a few things besides the soup and they are just as good as at the other locations.
