Seven – A Signature Salon

See Catrina. She is Amazing! I came in a hot mess with no idea what I wanted and she sent me home with so much confidence. The bayalage added so much to my dull appearance. Trust her opinion. She’s a pro and perfectionist that won’t let you leave unhappy.

This salon is a real find! Amanda is the stylist I’ve been looking for, a new style I didn’t ask for specifically, but I love. Everyone is so friendly, Nadia took my picture and brought me wine. Check it out, if your experience is anything close to mine you won’t be disappointed! Great atmosphere too, décor, location…

First off, Jasmine was awesome.
I went in last week to get my hair fixed. I had some terrible partial highlights done by someone at a different salon. It was embarrassing, just look at the pictures.
Last time I got my hair colored was in high school, box dye, at home. I had never gotten highlights before and after the first lady did a terrible job I wasn’t sure if I even wanted them anymore. I was afraid that they wouldn’t be able to be covered up. I was totally wrong.
I don’t even know what to say. I was so excited when Jasmine finished and was very impressed with the color and the placement. this is exactly what I wanted. She was very careful in getting the dye off my hairline and neck, she was very gentle when washing and applying the dye, toner, everything. She was also laughing at me (understandably) cause I was jumping everywhere and squealing like a freak I was so excited when I got out of that chair.
After I was done we went outside and she took pictures for me and then I went on my way. I was snapchatting everyone haha. I’ll be going back to Jasmine forever and would recommend her to anyone that wants to look freaking awesooooooome. I’m still excited.

Great place, been coming here for years. The establishment is really cute and you get the sense the owner really cares about the business. DANNY is fantastic and brilliant and I’m always pleased with the results. He seems to really understand my needs and nails it every time. He’s consistent and really knowledgeable about his craft and very aware of burgeoning color trends. I highly recommend Seven Salon and Danny.

I was so impressed with this place. I’m very picky about the quality of hair color and I was above and beyond over mine. I changed my mind last minute and Jamie was so kind and patient with me. Very professional and so generous they even offer drinks and snacks during your service this was my first but certainly will not be my last visit.

I received a gift certificate for this salon as a gift for the signature manicure and signature pedicure with gel polish add on.
First, it took multiple months to get an appointment. I tried calling multiple times without anyone picking up before I discovered the online booking system. There were multiple days a week available but no time variety so if that particular time of day doesn’t work for you, you don’t have much other option unless you book multiple weeks in advance. (like three weeks or more) They book up quickly. The owner eventually told us that she is available everyday, so I’m not sure why that availability isn’t included in the booking system.
When I got there for my appointment, I only waited a few minutes before the nail tech came out to greet me. She seemed surprised (and somewhat annoyed) that I had a gift certificate, but said nothing and directed me to pick out a nail color. I chose gel (since my GC included it) and she practically argued with me that it going to be extra $. I had to ask her to go read the GC to see. She still tried talking me out of gel after that even though it was already paid for.
What I did receive was ok. My disappointment was that I found out after the fact that half the services included in the package we not performed. Its partially my fault for not knowing what was exactly included, but I would also expect her to know as well. I also felt very rushed out of the salon. Her next appointment arrived about 10 minutes early, and I felt practically dropped the second they got there so she could get to them on time… I spent quite a bit of time sitting and waiting throughout my appointment and deserve the time included in my package, it isn’t my fault her time management wasn’t on par that day, I shouldn’t be shorted because of that.
When I went to the front after with my GC, she had a conversation infront of me with the receptionist about my gift certificate and how «_​_​_​_​issued this GC and doesn’t work here anymore so we’ll just have to price adjust it for her I guess.» Then looks up at me and tells me the prices are more than that now. I found out a few days later that she was lying and the person who issued my GC was the owner and very much still owned AND worked there.
To make matters worse, my GEL nail polish completely chipped off within about 5 hours of leaving the salon. I didn’t do anything but go out to dinner either. There was no reason regular polish should have chipped, nevermind gel.
Upon contacting the owner about all this, I was offered two option. 1. to have the service again free of charge, or 2. to get a refund. I thought this was nice, but because it took so long to get an appointment in the first place, I opted for the refund. As soon as we asked for that, she disappeared off the face of the planet… no reply, no refund, nothing. Tried contacting her again after that and again, nothing. Clearly the offer for a refund wasn’t genuine and she assumed I would take the rebooked appointment.
I imagine if things go well when you are there, its probably great, but if you aren’t a long term client or if something goes wrong, they act like you don’t matter or exist.
So I ended up using a $ 100 gift certificate for a cuticle trim, hand scrub, foot pumice and plain gel polish (no designs) that lasted 5-​ish hours after my appointment before it chipped (it was so bad I had to remove it completely the next day.)

I LOVE this place! Torri has been a magician with my color, I ask for almost impossible things to be done, and she makes it looks even better than I thought it would look. Amanda has also been just so great! Love these ladies!

I’ve been going to Seven for about 2 years now, and it’s absolutely the best salon I’ve been to, hands down. Amanda does my hair (cuts and updo’s on special occasions) and gets it right every time – she is some sort of magician (and I am really particular about hair). Literally a perfectionist and willing to do whatever it takes to get your hair the way you want it. Not to mention she’s just an awesome person to talk to and I really consider her a friend at this point. She really listens to what you’re asking for, and that is the best quality in a stylist. Everyone on staff is nothing but professional and they all greet me with kindness and excitement every time I step in. Trust me, you won’t find a better salon in all of San Diego – these guys are seriously THE BEST! Give them a try if nothing else, and I promise you will stay for life.

I showed the hairstylist a photo of a regular mens hairstyle I needed for work. I realized halfway through the haircut I was not getting the haircut I requested. To add insult to injury he told me she «just gave her friends 4 year old the same haircut». Umm great…
In the end I had a pompadour version of a Justin Bieber haircut. It might have been a cool haircut say if I was still in high school?
When you ask for a hair style, especially when you show a photo you shouldn’t ever have to wonder if you’re being taking for a ride. I’m sure she thinks she is an artist and she might be, but please do not experiment on my hair.

I’ve only been once, but I think I’ve found my new salon (since my old one up and moved 30 minutes away). 5 stars for Amanda, who did not even attempt to force asinine chit chat on me (asked only hair related questions and gave input, made light small talk but didn’t once try to force it, yet gave an open and friendly vibe), was extremely thorough with the hair washing (I have a lot of hair, so this is critical), was gentle with my head (I’m not very sensitive, but don’t appreciate an aggressive touch), and the cut, despite being a mere trim, is weirdly fantastic. She might be some kind of hair wizard? (is that a thing?) Despite only trimming off an inch, my hair feels so light and manageable. I might even start getting trims three times a year instead of twice. One star off because of the fumes from the nail bar in the salon. If you’re sensitive to harsh smells, this is not the place for you.

Danny is so sweet and does a great job. He is genuinely excited about hair, and it shows. Because he’s good at what he does, you could be waiting for an appt for 2 wks or so, but the wait is worth it.
I don’t do color, so I can’t speak to that, but he’s awesome with the scissors!

… She has made my hair dark, light, highlighted, shorter, Brazilian blown out… You name it she can do it. And she can do it well ! She is beyond sweet and always does such an amazing job. Love her !

I got my hair colored today and I am more than happy with my results. My stylist, Breeann, was a huge help in guiding me with the color I was looking for. She also came up with some ideas to make my hair different than what I usually get which I decided to do and I’m so happy! Everyone seems really nice here and it was nice and cool inside since it was so hot outside. I definitely plan on making this my go to salon. I drive all the way from oceanside and it’s extremely worth it!

Ok so I’ve never had anyone do my hair quite as perfect as Danny did it. I was going for a big change and cutting my long locks off and going for a bob. I checked the Unilocal review and his name was all Over the place with everyone raving about him. So I gave him a shot since everyone else seemed to love him and needless to say He was phenomenal! He practically read my mind, he talked me through the whole process and he took the time to make sure exactly what I wanted before going through with it. He’s booked for weeks ahead of time usually but you won’t regret going to him. He’s the absolute best of the best.

Breann just colored my long tresses exactly how I wanted it – Brunette with subtle Carmel highlights! Perfect I every way! Thanks so much!
