Shine Time SD

Same story here. I called several times to make an appointment. Eventually, I got a hold of them and made an appointment. They were happy to redeem my Groupon over the phone for me, and collect their payment. On the day of the scheduled appointment, they didn’t show up or call me. I called them several times over the next couple of weeks and never received a call back. I ended up calling Groupon and getting a refund from them.

I had the same experience as others with this «business». They were a no show for the appt and never returned any of my follow-​up calls (over multiple days). It is unclear if they are actually an operating business still. Living Social Deals said they reported a death in the family; try calling them again. Their voice mailbox is now full and not accepting messages. Don’t waste your time.

I WISH I really do WISH I could review this «company» based on their work but like many others I was the victim of the absolute worst customer service and business management I have ever come across. Whether it was cancellations on the day of an appointment, losing an appointment, never showing up for an appointment, or a lack of a simple call back after 10 (yes 10 messages over 7 days to both «owners») I never had the opportunity to experience what I can only assume is a terrible detail. Customer service, work ethic, and performance are all tied together in my mind so I can only assume how awful my car would’ve looked after a detail from these guys. I guess I should be thanking them for never calling me back or showing up to scheduled appointments. The best experience I had working with Shine Time was returning the Groupon I bought and experiencing what true customer service is really like.

I was so upset by my experience with this company. My co-​worker and friend recommenced them to me off a Groupon she bought and I saw what a great job they did on her car. I called over a month ago to make a reservation, but after 4 voice mails and calls for 2 weeks, I never heard from them. I complained to Groupon and heard back from then that afternoon. They made the appointment a week out said they would be at my work at 8am.
I had no confirmation call, I called them the day before just to confirm but never heard from them. The day of the appointment, I got a phone call at 9am (an hour after they were supposed to be at my job) saying the guy had strep and had to reschedule, the next available they had was 2 more weeks out. That second appointment rolls around, still no confirmation call and they were a no show. I called about 12 times that day, no answer on either phone numbers. I got a call later in the afternoon, around 3:30pm and the guy, Kaleb (?) said he was «having a problem with his co-​worker (Ben) and he personally would come by at the next appointment and detail my car.» (THIS SHOULD SOUND FAMILIAR IF YOU READ THE OTHER REVIEWS.)
So this morning was my 3^rd appointment and once again I am sitting here and he is once again a no show, and not answering calls.
My co-​worker feels horrible and embarrassed for recommending them, and I am hoping I can get my $ 60 back I paid to Groupon.

This company is the worst. I can’t speak to the quality of their work because I never got to experience it. However they never answer the phone and rarely return messages left. I tried for several weeks to get an appointment on a Groupon deal but since they don’t answer the phone and I am busy during the day with my work it was impossible to connect. I would avoid this establishment in order to avoid a headache.

My story is pretty much the same as the previous user’s review where they never showed up, I had to get living social involved just to have them call me to make an appointment first since I could never get a hold of them. Then on the appointment date I could not get in touch with the guy (Caleb, who made an appointment with me in the first place) to call me back, and they never showed up. It was a complete time and money wasted trying to do business with this company. Now I have to try and find a way to get my money refunded. It was just overall horrendous experience, you might get lucky if they feel like working that day, otherwise get ready for a world of headaches trying to get them to schedule and actually show up to detail your car.

My car is 10 years old and I’ve never had it detailed. I saw the Groupon for Shine Time and decided to give it a try. I’m the type of person who eats in the car all the time, so my car had drink stains and probably little french fries stuck in crevices from ages ago.
I don’t know how Shine Time compares to other companies, but for what I paid ($ 59) I thought they did a great job on both exterior and interior.
I will admit that I had apprehensions at first because scheduling an appointment wasn’t the easiest, but I think they delivered a good job on my car.

Good luck if they show up. I bought a deal out of their service area. I made an appt a week in advance to drive 25 mins so they could service me. Guy didn’t show, I called and he answered but sounded hungover or in bed. He then texted and said we can’t service u at public place and said request a refund. No notice no apologies. Screw these guys.

I have had this team come to my house to detail my mom and my husband’s car on two different opportunities. Both times they called to confirm the appt. and they showed up as scheduled. They are very nice and professional. I will be calling again to get my car detailed as soon as beach season is done for my family.

Shine Time SD detailed my car this morning and my car was in need of some TLC. They did a great job on the interior and exterior of my car and it looks brand new!!!
They shampooed all my carpets, which I was so happy about and vacuumed EVERYWHERE! My exterior looks so fresh with the wax and my wheels and tires look great too.
They were very thorough and detailed and I appreciate the time and effort they put into making my car beautiful!!!

My 1995 Honda looks as good as you can get without a new paint job after this service. Unbelievable! I only had the exterior done this time, but I will be back for more, plus our other cars. Do yourself a favor and call these guys. Excellent!

Very unprofessional! Twice I made appointment only to have other guy call back to cancel because I was 8 miles out of range. Both times I offered to pay the extra service fee for being out of range. Was told point blank by Ben I think it was that they don’t make any money on the living social deal. Well the whole point is the exposure and advertisement to get their name out there. If the service was as good as some other reviews I read they would have had long term once a month customer.
I have to slam these guys even further. The other partner said they had a detail in La Mesa the same day that they were to do mine and since I was willing to pay the extra service fee they advertise it would be no problem. This is AFTER two no shows and then Ben once again calls me leaving a message and says they are not coming and to call Living Social for a refund. I have been leaving messages for them to call me back so we can at least discuss why if I am paying the extra mileage charge what is the problem. Have left 5 messages to date and not 1 return call. These guys sound like two kids in grade school that have propped up a lemonade stand in their drive way. Get a business outline, a game plan, and some professionalism boys!
PS. I work in the bar industry in a number of places from San Diego to North county and deal with tons of people on a daily basis. All of which I will mention to NEVER use your company due to Mickey Mouse operation. Word of mouth is powerful fellas… good luck with the lemonade stand!!!

These guys were nice and punctual. However, the actual detailing work was unsatisfactory.
The detail I got supposed to include clay bar. I ran my finger across the panels and they felt like sandpaper. I have doubts in my mind that they actually did clay bar.
The plastic door guards/​plastic trim were not dressed either.
And worst of all, massive swirl marks.
Oh — check out their «5-​star» reviews. Half of those were done by someone who only had 1 review.
Update: So they posted a photo of my car with this caption — «This is jacks car, we put a lot of work into his car I do not see swirl marks… Really a one star review»
I did not comment on the quantity of work that they put in; I was simply unsatisfied with the quality of such work. If you can see swirl marks in that photo, from that distance, they’d be called gashes instead of swirl marks.

TLDR = They never showed up, they were unprofessional, and I’m getting a refund.
Let my start by the appointment making process. I called them on my break and left a message. He calls me back later on in the day and says the first available appointment is not for a week and a half. I understand totally considering they just released a living social deal. However, his tone during the whole reservation process made it seem like he didn’t want to be bothered with my questions. To me the whole thing seemed very informal and very unprofessional. But I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for 9 am July 13^th.
Fast forward to today. So I get up early after being at work until 2 am, pull the car outta the garage, and sit and wait for them to get there.
915am hits and I figure, oh they’re just in some traffic and I’m probably their first client of the day. I go inside, make myself a cup of coffee. Come back out, its 930ish and I give them a call… No answer.
1000 rolls around, give them a call… no answer
1030 rolls around, give them a call… no answer
1115 rolls around, give them a call… no answer
1215 rolls around, gives them a call… no answer
What kind of damn customer service is this?! I had to be somewhere today and I would’ve liked my car to be nice and clean for it. But instead I got stood up and outright shafted by these guys.
I’m pretty upset.
It is now 1315 and I will be calling living social to get my money back. I KNOW they’ll answer.
Update: A couple days after I was no-show’d on, I was contacted by Ben at Shine time. He assured me that on July 23’rd at 730AM he would be there personally to detail my car. He also assured me that this was not exemplary of his company and apologized on behalf of his employee who didn’t show up on a total of 3 clients that day. So this morning (⁷⁄₂₃) I wake up early yet again to set the car outside, and I wait… and I wait, and I wait, and I wait. One more useless call at 8AM and I gave up. Wasn’t going to be made a fool of once again.
Ben no-show’d on me as well. I’m completely fed up with this company and have no interest in doing business with them. If Living Social won’t issue me a refund, at this point I don’t care. Keep the money. Shine Time SD has already cost me a full days work today as I had to move stuff around to make sure I could accommodate them today.

I had contacted living social about the unsatisfactory service I received from Shine Time. They have tried for weeks to make contact with them and only now have they received a response. The response was that I had never even had an appointment with me and that Living Social would be denying my refund request. What a serious fucking asshole. At this point I’m beyond pissed. To blatantly lie about the situation is an act of bad customer service and outright disrespect. My next call will be to the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!

You guys were AMAZING today! My Acura has never looked better and I was able to trade it in on a new car with very little hassle. It was dubbed «pristine»!!!

Over the years I’ve tried a handful of mobile detail services and time after time I was left unsatisfied with the job done, until now. I was reluctant to try yet another mobile detail service for fear that I would once again be disappointed, but Shine Time SD came so highly recommended to me by my coworker that I agreed to give it one last try. When I called to set up an appointment I spoke with Caleb who was friendly and knowledgeable about the services they offer. On the day of my appointment, Caleb arrived on time and was very friendly and professional. When he was finished, I looked at my once filthy car, and I couldn’t believe my eyes! I bought my car used, 3 years ago, and it has never looked this nice,.The attention to detail was absolutely impeccable! I can honestly say that this is the best mobile detail service I have ever experienced. Shine Time SD has definability gained a customer for life.

Great Service, Used some Leather stuff that made my 2000, look brand new! Caleb showed up on time, no fuss,… I Will be calling again!

Professional, detail oriented & care about what they do! It was nice that young hard working men have such pride in their work! Totally affordable!!! Above and beyond my expectations & I’m loving my shiny, beautiful car!!!
