Great place! So many interesting things! There is something for everyone here. Antiques, collectibles and just cool stuff! I love it! I find the owner to always be helpful, friendly and fair. It’s on my list of places to visit whenever I travel to this area. I would definitely recommend!

We got kicked out of this place for a second time today(first time, we arrived a half hour before they closed and he said he wasn’t allowing anyone else inside). Drove in from Nashua, NH to show my mom some awesome antiques, double checked that they would be closing at 5pm and then, we get there at 3:41pm and a VERY rude guy comes out and states: well girls, you better hurry up, you got fifteen minutes before we close. I looked at the clock and said, ‘don’t you close at 5′? He responded with: ‘well, we’re closing early because of the heat’. So, because of the heat, you are closing but no posts on Facebook about it, no heads up? Nothing? So I drove an hour and a half … to show my mother who was in from out of town(Michigan) only for me to be embarrassed and us to get kicked out, even though we had planned enough time. Great job White Elephant! You have great finds, but your people skills and hospitality are HORRIBLE!

Tried to sell some estate furniture to them. I can understand them not wanting it – but what I don’t like is the broken promises. Sent them an email to call«Rick.» Called him. He was going away for a few days after we spoke but he’d call me back by X date. X date comes & goes with no call — even gave him a few more days«just in case.» I had to chase him down. We make an appointment. He runs late with no call & then is rude to my husband when he finally gets there. Friends were there helping my husband with other tasks and when they saw him there said that they were familiar with him & told my husband that the hype wasn’t worth anything. Perhaps they are better to buyers than sellers but their customer service skills are tremendously lacking.

They have lots of ‘stuff’…not so clean though. Although, compared to their outlet store, this place is like Nordstroms, ha!

I know that this place gets rave reviews, but I don’t like it quite as much as others. I do like the place, but whenever I’ve been, I haven’t really seen anything that has interested me. There are definitely antique stores that I like better out there, but again, this one isn’t bad at all, and most people do tend to like it better than I do…

A book on the female body, Howard Dean’s book, and a book by Ed McMahon. All for 50 cents each As they say on their website, White Elephant Shop sells/buys EVERYTHING. Looking for an authentic crocodile bag, with creepy head attached? They have it. Mork and Mindy board game? They have it Woody Woodpecker bag toss game? They have it. Clarinets, trumpets, flutes, french horns, trombones, and so much more. This place was our first stop in our Antiques day in Essex. Did you know that Essex has the most antique shops per square mile in the entire United States? Bet you didn’t. Well now you do. This place has an entire arsenal of everything. There was a giant moose head, a Bingo board, and I don’t even remember everything else. There’s a giant knight that greets you as you enter. And the prices are fantastic. They were definitely one of the cheaper antiques places we ended up going to, and probably one of our favorites(well, except for the store with the GIANTCAT, but that’s for next time). Definitely a place to check out. Local photos to come…
