The Artist Bagpiper

We recently hired The Artist Bagpiper to play for my Father in Laws memorial (approx 170 people). As an out of towner with time constraints and the oh-​so-​many «to do» lists as well as the emotional aspects of the situation, I felt blessed to have found James Freeman via a Google search.
James returned my initial call quickly, was able to answer all my questions and made me feel at ease that he would be able to handle the event with minimal oversight as I would be attending to my family during the memorial. We discussed songs my mother in law requested and James was thoughtful in providing ideas as to my father in laws background (army career, scottish background). James was able to tie in the requests as well as some other suggestions from a son who had taken the time to look at James’ web page and videos online.
James arrived early, professionally attired and we were able to discuss the timing and order of his songs. James was very personable and we could tell he was eager to do a good job but what most came through was that he was a kind man.
Most memorials are done with minimal notice and last minute details and a lot of confusion and emotion. Our event was no exception. James was flexible and fluid in his performance and timing. Though James was only contracted for an hour at a set rate he ended up staying without any request from us and stepped in without being asked when the Honor Guard was held up in traffic and filled in an awkwardly long wait for the Guard to get themselves together.
James Freeman’s performance was beautiful! All of our requests were met and then some. Our guests comments on James’ performance were all enthusiastic and the bagpipes added a personal touch to my Father in Laws memorial.
For all the reasons above and with great enthusiasm we heartly recommend James Freeman, The Artist Bagpiper for any event/​performance. The music is wonderful, the price is right and most importantly he was kind and thoughtful to work with in a very difficult situation.
