This place was pretty great, we stopped in on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park. Ron was great, he took time to go over the maps with us and highlighted his favorite view points. He even told us about«You Need Pie» across the street. Do yourself a favor and get a slice.

As the trail head to the Lake Estes Trail, this place was a godsend after a 3.75 mile trek on a surprisingly warm day. Water, clean restrooms, and plenty of seating – not to mention tons of brochures and pamphlets to check out the rest of the town.

The center resembles a large cabin inside, including a hot fireplace to warm you. The two mature volunteers were quite helpful and even posted driving conditions for the nearby parks, which was handy since we had wanted to head to one of them. This stopped us since the drifting snow was too heavy to try the trip. We opted to hike to Lake Estes area directly behind the center. We returned to the center after to sit in front of the fireplace to thaw out our frozen hands. Lots of useful info on nearby restaurants and shopping. They also offered touristy calendars and postcards for purchase. I recommend stopping by here when visiting the area.
