Good shakes and smoothies at this chain shop. Wish they had size options. There is only one size. They are good, just not spectacular.

I was in town for a wedding and looking for a good, quick and healthy snack/lunch. I stumbled upon this place, and being from CA… I got excited about the prospect of a smoothie. The service was very good. I think it was the owner working, but either way he was very nice. The smoothie itself was not quite the freshest ingredients(maybe frozen?) and came out very runny and watery. Unfortunately, this will be my only impression. It may be a place to check out, but one and done for me.

The 2 brothers that own this seem wonderful! Great costumer service, and the smoothies were both amazing, you could tell they were healthy and delicious instead of packed with sugar. Glad we were able to get here before they closed for the season :)

These guys are the best, most honest business men you will ever encounter! Our family was on vacation at RMNP and stopped here for breakfast. My husband left his wallet outside on the park bench. Jordan picked it up, brought it into his store, remembered we going to the Welcome Center to find things to do and had us paged there. When we didn’t respond to the page, he searched the internet and even tried messaging me on my facebook page to let us know he had our wallet! When we returned to his shop to get the wallet, it was locked away in his store safe. There was A LOT of cash in that wallet and it was all there! That is just who they are ethically… Their food is amazing! The kids loved the smoothies and the breakfast sandwiches are really great to get you going for a long day of hiking! If we are ever at Estes Park again, we will stop here! Be sure to give these guys your business, you will not regret it!

I love the smell of a nurturing family-owned joint that belts standard fare of sandwiches and shakes with a dust of local touch(mint chocolate and pretzels with sandwich) before you embark or disembark through the national treasure next door. Worth a stop just for the über-friendly service clockworked by the employees, like you just entered their fairy tale of hospitality.

Bear with me. I’m suffering from a little sticker shock. $ 5 — $ 5.25/ milkshake?! I’m all for supporting local businesses but for a family of four our little«treat» turned into $ 22.80. They were good shakes, but too much on the pricey side for us to return.

Quick and pleasant service. Sandwiches(turkey and veggie) were fresh and quite tasty. Large portions. Would come back again.

Of all 6 of our party that ordered something, not a single one of us wasn’t more than pleased with what we ordered. The smoothies, obviously, were fantastic. In fact many of us agreed they were some of the best smoothies any of us have had in a long time. Mine in particular was strawberry banana with whey protein. I can assure you that from all the protein smoothies I’ve had in my life this was by far the best tasting. It is the only smoothie I’ve had that I could not taste the whey in. The breakfast foods eaten by my party were raved about. Every person agreed they were unbelievably delicious. And the bagels were some of the best we’ve had. The interior of the shop is admittedly cramped, but the man who runs the shop is extremely friendly and welcoming. If you’re in the area and looking for somewhere to try, be sure to stop by here.

Stopped in last week while I was driving by– love that they can customize almost any order! I had a chocolate berry blast and it was hands down one of the best shakes I’ve ever had. The owner was extremely nice as well. I’ll definitely be back!

This little shop is awesome! Great food, great people behind the counter. Can’t go wrong with this place! I got a roast beef sandwich and an Oreo twister and each was delicious. Worth a visit if you ever find yourself in Estes Park!

Stopped in for emergency calories after a long bike ride in from Boulder. Glad to find a quick and delicious alternative to gas station food and fast food chains. The sausage egg and cheese on an everything bagel hit the spot and the staff was super friendly.

This is the home of the best low-fat frozen yogurt malt I have ever had, and I’ve had probably more than my fair share. It’s hard to find malts or shakes made with anything other than super-rich real ice cream that are worth going back for, and Shakes Alive definitely nailed it. They’re only open seasonally(May through September or October, I should think), and thus far for 2015 it’s only been the owner of this location himself who has been working behind the counter, but he’s on the ball and service is both personable and efficient. The breakfast sandwiches, as brought up by a previous reviewer, are fantastic; you get to have your choice of meat with egg and cheese on your choice of bagel or in a wrap. I had the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich on the«everything» bagel and it was definitely the best bagel sandwich in town. I’m actually fairly certain that this is the *only* sandwich shop in town that offers bagel sandwiches, but that shouldn’t detract from the above statement. They also have a variety of other sandwiches – roast beef, turkey, and tuna melts, for instance – all available on bagels or ciabatta bread that’s really quite delectable. For shakes, you’ve got your choice of shakes, malts, smoothies, or protein-packed whey-infused super drinks like you can get down in town from huge smoothie chains crewed by cadres of teen-aged worker drones that alternate between apathetic and sycophantic as they churn you through their fifteen-part assembly line for decent smoothies, or from a friendly neighborhood Shakes Alive where the smiling face that takes your order is attached to the same pair of hands that spin your shake. I definitely know which one I’ll be coming back to. My favorite malt so far is a custom concoction(which the owner was enthusiastic about putting together for me), a chocolate marshmallow espresso dreamscape of heavenly dairy dessert, whipped into a flavor frenzy. You can also have chocolate or vanilla frozen yogurt as the base for your smoothie, so if you’re in the mood you can have a chocolate bobcat(the multi-berry blend) or a cocoa piña colada. Try something new!

Really loved this place! We made a similar shake to our favorite at home for the rest of the summer because we missed this place so much!

Good friendly service, but they were out of a bunch of toppings. It’s not THAT close to the end of the season, folks.

We stopped here after a hot day in RMNP and the staff was very friendly and patient while I tried to make up my mind. My husband got a bobcat blitz smoothie and really liked it. I got a chocolate cherry shake and it was very rich and creamy. The sizes were huge and definitely worth the price.

Let me start by saying I was in Estes Park for Three days and I went here every single day! :D It is one of the best places to go here, not just for shakes, but in general one of the best! I am highly addicted to shakes and I loved coming here to satisfy my cravings. We were staying at the Stanley Hotel and it was right down the hill. The guy was always so nice when we stopped in each time too. And he really gave me some good recommendations. That is how I came to try my fav the Chai Tea milkshake on our last day! OMG it was yummy! I also did like my strawberry milkshake too but the chai is where it’s at! The royal with the peach and strawberry(the fuzzy strawberry) was good too if you want something different than a milkshake. And the portions are huge!!! I would highly recommend you stop here if you are in Estes Park :) They also do some delicious bagel sandwiches! The sausage and egg is wow! And a cheap alternative to eating at a restaurant! Come here guys and see what all the hullabaloo is about! LOL! ;D

Review is based on one smoothie bought for my son(yes I was able to get a taste) and general store atmosphere. The place was popular and it is tiny so be prepared. They have a diverse menu. Smoothie was good but not a standout. People were friendly. Interestingly enough they also sold a few souvenirs and I was able to score a shot glass at half off. That was unexpected for a smoothie shop.

Shakes Alive has to be one of the best places for breakfast in Estes Park. Using the very extremely limited amount of Unilocal reviews we had eaten at The Egg & I the morning before(feel free to read my review on that…) Shakes Alive provided a very tasty and reasonably priced breakfast sandwich on a killer onion bagel, top notch bread and ingredients, you could taste the quality, and very nice coffee. For an extremely fair price. Service was friendly and the only reason I picked it was due to their banner sign that said«Breakfast». Well, let me add to that banner sign, it is indeed breakfast done right and in my experience this is one of the best places for breakfast /brunch in Estes Park, Colorado. Single location, Mom & Pop like place that could easily become a chain.

Frozen yogurt milkshakes in Estes! Very friendly staff! I had the praline milkshake, delicious and generous. Also have tried the chocolate and vanilla froyo, which was also good. I plan on going back and trying another froyo milkshake. If you want a healthier dessert option in Estes, try Shakes Alive.
