What a perfect town to stop in for lunch on route to Seaside, Florida! This place was busy, but our food was served quickly and fresh! Fried pickles were perfect, husband loved the potato skins. Burger was good per burger loving partner. The BLT with fried green tomato was perfect! Served on plain white bread and crispy bacon with an absolutely delicious fried green tomato. Definitely worth a quick lunch stop! The atmosphere was a little dark and with TV’s everywhere, but yummy and fast home made food!

We did not enjoy this place. We went here for lunch today based on other reviews. I got the 4 vegetable«Blue Plate Special» lunch. The turnip greens must have been canned. The baked potato was dried out and chalky. The cucumber salad was old and slimy. There were 8 of us and everyone agreed that it wasn’t very good. The atmosphere was pretty nice but I suggest grabbing a bite of lunch somewhere else if you are driving through this area.

The pork chop was REALLY good. Very tender. Also had deviled eggs and cucumber salad for the sides. The deviled eggs had relish in the topping. Nice flavor. Service was good.

We drive through Eufaula on a regular basis and stopped there for lunch on a Sunday after seeing the great reviews. They only offer Blue Plate specials on Sunday — fine with me. I had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole. Wife had chicken fingers, potato salad and green beans. Service was good and the place was busy but the food was not good at all. Chicken Fried steak was barely edible and had a bad taste, mashed potatoes good, sweet potato casserole(which waitress recommended) was just mashed up sweet potatoes… Chicken fingers were ok, potato salad was very heavy on pickle juice. I started to give to give it two stars because of the friendly wait staff but the food was one star. Maybe we had a bad experience but we have crossed this one off the list. I don’t like to give one star reviews but I have to be honest. Do yourself a favor and stop by Blue Moon Café or Big H’s chicken if you are passing through Eufaula.

We were visiting the area from Fort Walton. According to Unilocal it was about the best place to go in Eufaula and maybe for some it is. We ordered an appetizer and drinks which came within a reasonable amount of time but the room changed customers twice by the time we got our entrees(1 and !/2 hours later and an 82.00 bill). My food was luke warm and my husband’s Yellow fin tuna medallions came out as a steak and was dry. We had basically lost our appetite by this time. We spoke to the manager who said our order had only been there for 20 minutes and offered not accommodations for our inconvenience. I will say the SERVICESUCKS! I should have listened to Alex P’s recommendation that the service left much to be desired. I am warning you if you are not a local… Buyer beware.

Finding this to be the highest rated restaurant in Eufaula, my family and I decided to try it out. The food was mediocre, and substitutions were made to my husband’s order without telling him in advance. But what really stuck in my craw is that when ordering my burger(I’d left the table for a minute), my husband was told that it couldn’t be ordered medium rare as I asked, but had to be medium, per Alabama law. He objected, but was told the restaurant would be «shut down» if they didn’t cook it to at least medium. Well, anybody but a barbarian knows this ruins beef. I couldn’t imagine it was true, knowing that a steak would be destroyed at this temperature. So, I proceeded to the internet for a little research. Turns out it’s not Alabama, but individual counties’ health departments which set such laws. Looking into the codes of Barbour County, I found this«420−3 – 22-.03:(d) The provisions of subparts 3 – 401.11, 3 – 401.12, and 3 – 603.11 shall not be construed to prohibit a food establishment from serving a food item cooked to less than the specified temperature if individually ordered by the immediate consumer and it is not a food establishment that serves a highly susceptible population.» Why did they feel the need to lie? CYA? Lame.

Delicious Bam Bam shrimp. Not quite like Bonefishs, but close enough and yummy! Soups(loaded potato and tomato basil) were both great, but small portions. Stuffed chicken breast with rice pilaf. Husband says it was delicious and cleaned his plate entirely! I got the pasta Alfredo with chicken and it was delicious. Added tomatoes and bacon too because they offer that on a different pasta. Very good food and service. Definitely recommend and hope to stop back by.

My favorite place to eat in Eufaula! Delicious and not the«typical» small town menu. Always good, regardless of what I order.

Came up from Dothan to eat here and it was wonderful! That’s all I can say. Four of us at the table we had the Fried Shrimp Dinner, The Smoke Pork Chops, The New Orleans Red Fish and the Asian Ahi Tuna and everyone raved at their dish! I highly recommend stopping in here. It’s worth the drive.

Driving through Panama City Beach, made a dinner stop here. FIRSTANDFOREMOST, A DAMNGOODPORKCHOP. When they say their pork chop is from a local farm, they don’t joke about it. This tasted like they fed this pig organic food, had it chase after a cob of corn to the back of the restaurant and slaughtered it on the spot. It was so fresh, so loaded with flavor, just absolutely the best pork chop I’ve ever had. — SERVICELEFTMUCHTOBEDESIRED. Seriously, had it not been for the slow bartender, I probably would have given this restaurant an easy 5 stars. Given that the pork chop won me over here, I can’t give it any less than 4. — OLDISH, NOTHINGSPECIALTOSEEHEREAMBIANCE. Ambiance was kinda just there. Cheap, old, but not run down. Nothing to compliment for sure.

Not impressed. They need to be trained on how to cook a steak properly. And our waitress took our appetizer while we were still eating. Also had to ask for a refill on our drinks. You could tell they were trying to rush us out. Not cool.

Found this place through a friend of ours and it was one of the best suprises in awhile. The location is really neat and River City Grill itself is a cool place to dine and relax. We actually were driving from Pensacola, FL to Columbus and stopped in for a quick lunch, which turned in to a 2 hr lunch as we met the owner and staff, some of which were his sons. Great environment. We ended up coming back two days later with our son and his girlfriend, it was Family Weekend for Infantry School. The food both times was incredible, the seafood is fresh from the gulf and the vegetables are local. They have a variety on the menu and the Blue Plate Special allows you to mix and match. My wife and I had the Bam Bam Shrimp and Fried Green Tomatoe for appetizers — Both were plavorful and cooked perfect, not a lot of breading. For our meals my wife had Grilled Salmon with a House Salad, she is picky and there was not a whole lot of conversation once the food arrived — thoroughly enjoyed it. For me, I love Seafood so I had Gulf Shrimp with Fried Okra and Sweet Potatoe Cassarole, wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection. This place is a GEM of a find! If you go by say hi to Steve and Stephanie — Great folks! Bön Appetit!

Strawberry spinach salad with candied pecans and topped with a small lump crab cake was refreshing and average priced. Good place to stop if passing through Eufala.

This is one of the more upscale places you will find in this small town, and the prices reflect that. I picked up my order to go, so I can’t really comment on the décor or anything, but the food was fantastic. I had the stuffed chicken breast with smashed potatoes and a house salad. The chicken breast was stuffed with some kind of gooey great tasting filling, it was breaded, and cooked to perfection. It was worth paying a few bucks more compared to other options in town.

What’s great place to stop for lunch on or from Panama City Beach. Pass all the fast food places and head here for a fantastic soup or salad or even better lunch specials.

Found this great gem on Unilocal and very thankful! Three of us had phenomenal meals. The deviled eggs were perfect! Loaded potato soup was exceptional! I could have enjoyed a second helping of butter beans, field peas were great too! The pork chop was one of the best I ever tasted. My friend loved her grilled chicken. Service was great and meals were just $ 7.99 including drinks at lunch! I would have rated 4.5 if given the option. On the downside, my husband was starving and ate over half of what was supposed to be blackened grouper… He stated that he thought it may be Tilapia and implored me to taste it. I knew it was not grouper immediately and asked our server to please check on it. He shared it was a fish from Indonesia and not grouper as advertised. We of course did not make issue and paid for all 4 meals plus thanked/tipped our great server. As great as our other meals and service were I’d like to implore this establishment to serve what the customers order from the menu. Otherwise be honest and let the patrons know if they are out of Grouper, etc. I realize not everyone has a discerning palate and may not care but foodies definitely do!

The heart of Eufaula, Alabama’s historic district is full of southern charm, historic antebellum homes and this lovely little brasserie, River City Grill. Sophisticated appetizers like their Seared Tuna– Sashimi-grade bluefin tuna, seasoned with black pepper and sesame seeds served with pickled ginger, wasabi and Asian sauce are a pleasant surprise. Hearty entrees like the RCG Hamburger Steak– 12 Oz of specially seasoned Angus ground chuck, grilled and roasted with au jus and caramelized onions served with smashed new potatoes will satisfy your hungry man or the hungry man in you. Friendly staff, quick service, a full bar and pleasant surroundings draw locals and tourists in but it’s the food that they come back for.
