Armitage Park

I would recommend this campground to anyone passing through, my wife and I tent camped for one night while traveling from Northern Washington back down to our home in San Diego. We pulled in just after sunset and the camp host was extremely helpful and after opting for a car site to make it easier to set up camp he gave us a secluded site that had ample tree coverage which worked out for the best because we woke up to about an inch of snow. The facilities were very clean and heated which made simple things like using the restroom and showering so much more enjoyable. They also had laundry facilities on site with a deep sink inside. Overall a great experience and if I’m ever even close I will camp here again. Some reviews complained about highway noise, we didn’t notice any noise at all.

This park is right on the McKenzie River. The RV spots are spacious. There are old-​growth trees in the park and we happened to hit at the right time because black berries were in season. I was able to make a blackberry pie while we were at camp here. There’s also tent camping, and a beautiful, beautiful picnic area. There are walking trails that are paved along the river, and it’s very quiet. We would stay here again. The big advantage is that it’s right off Interstate 5, so it’s easy on easy off. While down at the river, we saw a great gray heron and an Osprey. The camp hosts are also very helpful as well as park personnel.

This is a great county park on the south bank of the Mackenzie River just down from I-​5. Scenic, spacious, good facilities for families or larger groups, plenty of shade and sun, volleyball nets, ample parking, camping too. Excellent large rocky beach/​swimming hole at one end, upstream from the boat ramp. Had my partners’ grand-daughter’s fourth birthday party here, just about perfect. I-​5 bridge is noisy but throws welcome beach-​shade on a hot day.

Nice, clean, plenty of space, close to river, easy on/​off Highway 5, but you do hear some freeway noise.

Beautiful RV park. Plenty of space between sites and all level. Full hook-​ups (water, 20−50amp, cable, wifi, sewer), large lawn space and mature trees. My favorites are any site along the outside perimeter.
