Have been multiple times now and have enjoyed every experience. Comfortable seating, awesome staff, and great prices. Cannot comment on food from the local restaurants, since I’ve yet to order any, but the beer is great! My only request is that since they just were showing Labyrinth and show Big Lebowski every year, maybe have more nights with classic cinema(i.e. Animal House or other cult classics :).

I never want to go to a big movie theater again after coming here! It’s so cozy and comfortable. I loved watching the Martian on the big screen in a giant living room. Also, the best damn root beer mixed drink is the best root beer I ever had. I love how they will deliver food to you in the theater. It’s $ 1 off your ticket too if you are a student. I highly recommend coming here for an affordable night out.

Nice place for a casual date. Just text for beer or popcorn and they deliver it to you in the theater.

Up for an intimate, highly casual film experience? Lounging on sofas, knoshing on great local eateries combined with local brew enhances this gem. Back in the day… too many moons ago, I use to enjoy this type of movie experience where I attended college. So good to see this type of movie venue not only doing well big thriving. There are some great deals on Groupon too…

love this place but the food isn’t always very good. Had the veg burger and it was one of the worst of my life, but you can drink beer here and sneak in your own snacks. Well… serve better food and I will buy it and not sneak some in! 5 stars minus 1 for lousy food

Text a beer or wine. Need I say more? Smallish, make sure you arrive plenty early for decent seats. Staff is always very friendly.

Truly a unique experience. Loved the couches and coffee tables. Cheap tickets. Tuesday and Sundays are matinée days. Other reviews hit the highlights of the services. Homey and fun.

Great specials on Tuesdays and Sundays, new matinees, text a beer service, in-seat food service, and generally awesome people running the place.

Super cool venue! Just saw«Moonrise Kingdom» there. Great film and intimate venue. The menu is pretty extensive. You order from local restaurants and the staff will call your name during the film. The homemade lentil veggie burger and sweet potato fries looked great! Tues is 2 for 1 and Sun has two dollar movie nights.

The David Minor is great for a change of pace. Love that they’ll order takeout for you from one of the great nearby restaurants and bring you a full meal while you relax comfortably and enjoy a movie. Definitely a little quirky but a place we’d definitely go back to(and have) again.

I really like this place. Where else in Eugene can you sit down in an intimate living room-like setting with comfy couches and drink a beer while watching a movie on a bigger-than-home screen? Decent selections of beers and food where you will find something to enjoy, and friendly service. Also, texting your order? YES! We are new regulars here!

Love this place! Great beer, comfortable seats, convenient show times, great movies playing, really friendly staff… and they have menus from surrounding restaurants you can choose from And they bring you your meal while you’re watching the movie along with another beer if you text them what you want. Genius! :-)

This place is awesome. Cool place to take a date. The only theater that encourages Texting… FORBEER… OR other tasty drinks and food! Come early.

Beer + Movies, what more do you want? Great place to catch a flick in Eugene! Probably my favorite place. The selection game could be upped a little bit, but if you see something you like, you should definitely be sure to go check it out!

This place is great. I love it. I go here often enough to know it can be even more awesome. OWNERS, listen up: The thing about movie theaters is that when you go with friends it’s missing some social aspect. If the DMT shuffled its lobby space/ticketing/food ordering space a bit, it could squeeze in tables which may entice me to show up early, order more snacks and drinks and spend more money. Gleefully! The table that is there is awkward and largely unused except by the owners. I get the sense that if I were to sit there, a clique of popular girls from high school will show up and tell me move. Then there’s that weird dead space to the side of the other theater. You’re not using your lobby space effectively, and it drives me crazy. I’m dead serious, contact me. I think you could easily double your drink sales just by making your lobby area a decent place to hang out rather than the current traffic jam nightmare.

Can’t believe it took me three years to go to the DM!!! Took advantage of the Sunday night $ 2 movie with a girlfriend. A lot cleaner than I thought it was going to be based on previous reviews. The staff is super nice and are extremely helpful. Such a great night. Can’t wait to go back early this time to snag a couch in the front row!

I see that lots of people are huge fans of David Minor. .. and I liked it, I guess, but I just didn’t fall in love with it the way that others did. Mostly I thought it was odd. I like the IDEA of it – the home theater feeling, the ability to order beer and dinner from nearby restaurants and have it brought to you while you watch the movie, etc. But it doesn’t work as well as I feel like it should. The lobby is crowded and has a weird layout, and they don’t know until close to showtime which movie will be in which theater. And yeah, it’s great to order a beer or a burger from Cornucopia — they really do have a lot of yummy options — or whatever, but seriously, I’m not sure it’s great to watch a movie while every five minutes an employee comes in yelling«Mike, here’s your food!» And since that employee can only reach the people on the aisle, there’s a lot of food passing down the rows, like you’re at a ball game. Of course, I do love how cheap the tickets are — two dollars a ticket on Tuesdays and Thursdays, five the rest of the time. But, really, they’re just pushing«play» on a DVD — the same DVD I could get from Netflix, etc. — and so how could they possibly get away with charging any more? It would be so much better if you could see newer movies — movies not available in my own living room. Weird. 3 stars for now. I’ll probably go back on a less crowded night and see how it works out.

I enjoyed my time here as a one time novelty, where the better part of the amusement came from wondering, «seriously?» This is a pair of fairly stuffy screening rooms with couches and recently released blu ray discs of mainstream movies projected on living room sized screens. If you’re cool with that, and call it a movie theater, more power to you. Where I come from, it’s called a living room, and it’s free to get in to if you know the right people. Pros: beer, smiles. Room for improvement: there needs to be more effort made to keep the DVD menu off the screen. Also: tickets — symbolic, yes, but they provide a souvenir for the experience, and underscore the theater concept. And: none of this would matter very much if there was anything remotely interesting about the programming. There’s 100+ years of moving images to draw from. There’s cinema, television, filmed performance, cable access, straight to video… There’s work from all over the world. And there’s «Cowboys and Aliens.»

Movie night. Date night. Friends’ night. Drunk night. Awesome night. You will… Walk in, admire the art gallery. Pick up a local flier. Decide on a movie, pay your five. Toss in some candy, add a beer. Tuesday or Sunday? Two dollar tickets. Thirsty Thursday? One dollar refills(any beverage, any size.) Choose a couch. Snag a recliner.(Come early for the really comfy seats.) Snuggle up with a buddy. Movie starts. Counter guy brings food to your couch. Previews roll. Hello, surround sound! Beer finished. Drunk? That’s okay, just don’t yell at the screen. Need more Ninkasi, and maybe some Espresso Stout. Pull out phone. Text NMB!(also include Who, What, Where.) Watch movie. Laugh, cry, put your feet up on the seats. When the credits roll, stay til everyone leaves. Fist pound about how awesome DMT is, skip out and drive to Voodoo Doughnuts. When Groupon has a half-off coupon for DMT the following week, buy 2. Fist pound again! Bottom Line: For less than $ 20, go on a date, get buzzed and feel good for supporting a local business! =)

Sign. Me. Up! I love the David Minor. Much in the same way that consumers have Napster to thank for new choices in music exploration, the DM is, in its own way, contributing to new options in movie watching. I have now experienced Minor’s theater in two ways:(a) as a standard patron watching a just-released-on-DVD flick in the larger of their two theaters and(b) as a lucky bs-tard who got to watch an old movie with friends in the small theater for a private party. Both offered comfortable seating, good beer, and great prices. I’ve not yet tried their«text-an-order» feature, but I give them points on that one for the cute factor alone. I know that it’s also possible to order up real grub from Cornucopia– a known entity of goodness. So, score extra points for the food too. Where I’m reserving the fifth star is for some unwieldy patron behavior. Sorry guys. While the party atmosphere with my own friends was fine, I was slightly taken aback during my public appearance at the DM. Lots of chit-chatting during the movie, texting that appeared to be NOT food-order related, and general foot-on-the-chairs naughtiness that would definitely warrant a scolding look from mom. You know it’s true. So, wise up Yewjeanians. It might be super-comfy at the DM, but it’s still not your own living room.
